For those of you who don't know, anorexia is an eating disorder in which a person starves themselves in order to be thin. It can be life threatening and is characterized by self starvation, and excessive weight loss. A lot of people with anorexia see themselves as fat, even though they are extremely skinny. People with anorexia will often weigh themselves all the time, and exercise a lot, and some even force themselves to vomit, all to keep themselves looking skinny. Some even hide food and throw it away.
The ironic part is people that are anorexic are so skinny that they look horrible. It is estimated that around 2 million people throughout the world suffer from anorexia, It is mostly women that have it, but some men do experience it as well. It can be life threatening, due to malnutrition.
This can happen to anyone. One would think that someone who has the confidence to be a famous musician or actress would not suffer with anorexia, but this isn't true. All sort of women that are successful, famous and popular, have had backgrounds where they have struggled with anorexia.
