10 Celebs Who Don't Deserve Their Fame And Fortune

In modern show business, few celebrities truly deserve star status. It's makes you realize how much of a sick, backwards world it is when a celebrity makes hundreds of times the money of a doctor or soldier, just for having their lives broadcast on television. Some people will do just about anything to get their 15 minutes of fame. Reality television, competition panel shows and downright idiotic behavior drives fame-seekers to all-time lows. Nowadays it seems like people not only crave fame and fortune, but believe they are entitled to it, even if they're not willing to put in the hard work.

Whether they like it or not, celebrities take on the responsibility of role models. Children grow up exposed to ludicrous behavior, that's inevitable, but they should not grow up seeing that type of behavior rewarded. It seems like many celebrities live by the mantra “there's no such thing as bad press,” purely because they don't have the talent to justify their fame and riches. Well, there is such a thing as bad press. If certain so-called celebrities would place their own sense of self-righteousness aside for just one second, and look at the damage their actions cause to society, they would understand that!

Celebrity worship is a global epidemic that seems to be getting worse. The first stage to fighting it is recognizing the ringleaders. We hope you'll agree that the following 10 celebrities certainly do not deserve fame and fortune.

10 Justin Bieber

He's the former child prodigy who has legions of adoring fans, broken chart records and amassed a fortune of $200 million. Yes, he can sing, dance and play a few instruments, but he's just a musician! Besides, anyone who is as rude to fans as he is, drives under the influence, cracks racist jokes and orders his bodyguards to assault paparazzi (as annoying as they must be), does not deserve respect or riches. If Justin Bieber's music was truly groundbreaking and monumental, perhaps his fame would be more understandable, but there's absolutely nothing special about his voice or songwriting. I guess some things will always remain a mystery.

9 Kanye West

When you live a life in the spotlight, with fans begging for your autograph and fainting in your presence, it's bound to get to your head. But, Kanye West's ego is on a whole other level. He's the self-proclaimed “voice of a generation,” appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone wearing a crown of thorns, he's a notorious stage crasher when he looses awards, and the list goes on and on. Kayne West is worth $147 million, which he has amassed through record sales, endorsement deals, live performances, fashion designing and business. Having said that, apart from his music, none of his other ventures are particularly noteworthy. He even recently penned a book – which was universally slated as “childlike” rubbish – just after proclaiming that he's a “proud non-reader.”

8 Farrah Abraham

Over 750,000 American teen girls will get pregnant each year, so why on earth does Farrah Abraham get special treatment? After appearing in the MTV series Teen Mom, and starring in a number of “leaked” adult videos, she has amassed a net worth of over $325 thousand. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with adult films, modelling or implantation, but what has she really contributed to society? After leaving Teen Mom, she had one last attempt to clutch on to her fame, so in true B-list fashion, she released a studio album, which The Guardian labelled as “the weirdest record you've heard all year,” and released a book, both of which were titled My Teenage Dream Ended.

7 Paris Hilton

She's a professional socialite and occasional actress, model, DJ, author and singer. Anyone who's ever seen her creative work will know full well that talent didn't break her into show business. Regardless of what it says on paper, Paris Hilton made a name for herself as nothing more than the party going heiress to the mighty Hilton Hotel chain, which was established by her great grandfather, Conrad Hilton. Through reality television, celebrity appearances, gossip and a well-known night vision video, she has managed to make her own $100 million fortune. In some respects you've got to give her credit, she's managed to create a business out of scandal and drama, which can't be easy.

6 Kevin Federline

Known as “K-Fed,” Kevin Federline is nothing more than a scrounging money grabber. He is the ex-husband of Britney Spears, and a failed rapper – seriously, his music is shockingly poor! When the two were married he became an instant millionaire. Britney reportedly gave him $2.3 million as a wedding gift. They divorced three years later, and he received another $1 million cash injection in the settlement. Through his relationship status, dancing, rapping and fashion “career,” he has amassed a $6 million fortune – but for what? Even now, he continues to reap the benefits of marrying one of the biggest pop stars on the planet by receiving $20,000 per month from Britney in child support allowance.

5 Charlie Sheen

Even though he's a 50 year old father of five, Charlie Sheen still thinks it's okay to abuse drugs, smash up hotels, pull a knife on a dental technician, spend hundreds of thousands on adult stars while married, and (perhaps) worst of all, physically assault ex wives and girlfriends. Sheen does have a charitable side, donating a great deal of his $125 million fortune to good causes, and promoting HIV awareness, but none of that condones his idiotic behavior. The once highly promising actor who starred in the classics Wall Street and Platoon, is now nothing more than a shadow of his former self. He really is the cliché example of how fame and fortune can break people.

4 Spencer Pratt

When Spencer Pratt was first “cast” in The Hills, he was despised for breaking up the deep, loving friendship of Lauren Conrad and Heidi Montag. How much influence he had is up for debate. In all fairness, he gave the otherwise bland, boring reality show some much-needed drama. While speaking with David Letterman he proudly claimed that he charges a $100,000 fee, simply for attending a club, before bragging about his fabricated career as a manager to the stars. Ten years on, and still nobody has heard of the “musical talents” that were going to be bigger and better than both Jay-Z and Michael Jackson, but he's still worth $100 thousand.

3 The Kardashians

In the golden age of Hollywood, one had to actually do something to become a star. Fame, fortune and artistic prowess came hand-in-hand. Nowadays, attractiveness and family status are all that matter. The Kardashian Clan are collectively worth an estimated $300 million, but for what? Sacrificing their dignity for television? Only one of the Kardashian/Jenner group, Caitlyn Jenner, achieved something. Kim Kardashian is now the highest earning reality television star on the planet with a net worth of $85 million, all credit to the fame-grabbing concoction of choosing the right best friend (Paris Hilton), marrying right star (Kanye West) and, of course, making a s*x video.

2 Perez Hilton

The only thing worse than overachieving celebrities is the bloggers responsible for creating their own God-like status. Perez Hilton has made a career writing a celebrity gossip blog. Somehow, his website attracts over 7.2 million viewers per month, placing it in the top 500 most visited websites on the Internet – because tons of people just don't have anything better to do. He has built a small fortune of $30 million for simply riding off the fame of others and exposing secrets that he has no business knowing in the first place. He clearly doesn't care for what truly warrants celebrity status: art and talent.

1 Chris Brown

It's a wonder why people still give Chris Brown the time of day after he brutally beat his (then) girlfriend, Rihanna. One police officer who investigated the crime said that the swelling was so bad it looked like she had horns protruding from her head... she even had bite marks on her body! He should have been locked up for the assault, but instead – probably due to his celebrity status – he received five years of probation and six months of community service. Chris Brown's violent behavior hasn't stopped him from selling records. He's currently sitting on a $30 million fortune, most of which was made after the incident.
