United Airlines is offering something new to their elite passengers as they just opened their brand new Polaris lounge last October 2021. It was reported that the airline spent an estimated budget of $41 million. Since its opening late last year, the lounge has been welcoming business travelers who are flying internationally. Prior to the global pandemic, numerous airlines have been creating luxurious lounge for their elite and high paying customers.
The usual amenities of these luxurious airport lounges have showers, foods, drinks with plenty of working space for the traveling business owners. A lot of the lounges also have private meeting rooms and can even serve great cocktails. However, the brand new Polaris lounge has taken these amenities and overall airport lounge experience to the highest level. With $41 million of budget to spare, the United Airlines sure did not hesitate to give the best they could to the customers who are willing to pay. Those who are holding a same-day ticket with United Airlines’ flightair can access the lounge. Those who are holding a first class ticket under the Star Alliance long-haul flight can also enter the Polaris Lounge because of the global partnership between United with Lufthansa, Air Canada, SAS and Thai Airways done in 1997.
United Airlines packed a lot of amenities in the 21,000-sq-ft lounge even have plenty of working space for those who cannot miss a day’s work. The working space is the stylish cubicle style seats which can be private and comfortable and also has some charging ports for the electronic devices of the passengers. There are also plenty of rooms to hold private business meetings and can be perfect for those who are working remotely or someone who just needs a quiet place to talk or just relax.

The Polaris Lounge has impressive modern amenities, wide selection of food and drinks with spacious seating to offer the deep pocketed customers. There is a high class vibe on the lounge which is immediately noticeable as one enters the premises because of its marble-clad décor placed at the entrance. The lounge has a warm and welcoming feel to it which the customers would enjoy.
United Airlines has decorated the spaces at the lounge with a calming blue with gray colors and has incorporated the art pieces of numerous local artists. The private seating rooms can be full immediately but the passenger does not need to worry as there are tons of additional comfortable seating area around the lounge which can be suitable for work and relaxation.
An Extraordinary Escape From The Airport Chaos
Those who want to wash up first after taking a multi-hour flight can wash up at the huge bathrooms and standing showers installed at the lounge. The room is packed with complete amenities including a two-way closet attached to the door. This can help the lounge attendant to deliver some ironed and pressed clothes to the passengers while they are taking a shower without ever needing to open the door of the bathroom. The closet can be opened from the outside of the bathroom which makes it more convenient. There are also numerous toiletries provided by United to the passengers including some hair and body products, Qtips, towels and deodorant so the passengers can fully enjoy traveling without ever feeling the need to pack everything. The lounge also has a regular bathroom for those who do not want to use showers which can also be used by the families who need a changing area and nursing pods.
The United Airlines also installed sleeping pods in their newest lounge with doors for those who want to sleep while waiting for their flight. However the passenger must be quick if they need to utilize it since there are only two sleeping pods available at the Polaris lounge. The beds used at the pods are long and padded which gives the person a comfortable sleep. The attendants can provide some sleeping blankets which can be kept warm using a special heating machine. United Airlines has made sure that the lounge is designed for the sole comfort of the passenger.
The customers can enjoy sumptuous snacks and food available on the lounge. There is an onsite dining room and a buffet that has a lot of food offerings which even include charcuterie and sandwiches. To make sure the food on the buffet is fresh; the food is rotated every hour. Although the newly opened Polaris Lounge is expected to offer more than the other branch, the menu across all the locations are the same to keep the products of the airline consistent.
