Kim Kardashian is known to love the finer things in life. She lives in a $60 million mansion, after all. The reality star not only spends a lot on real estate, but also on clothes and accessories. Her jewelry collection has been marvelled for decades over its expensive, luxurious pieces. Her engagement rings from Kanye West –yes, rings plural – cost millions of dollars alone.
Here are the most expensive pieces of jewelry Kim Kardashian has ever worn.
Kim’s Engagement Ring From Kanye Cost At Least $2 Million
Kanye West spared no expensive when buying an engagement ring for Kim Kardashian, which also doubled as a 33rd birthday present for the reality star, who was pregnant with their first child a the time of his proposal.
The elaborate engagement ring was a 15-carat cushion-cut diamond, which reportedly set Kanye back between $2.5 million to $3 million.
Kim’s engagement ring from her second marriage to Kris Humphries, was only slightly lower in value.
Another Million-Dollar Ring From Kanye
In 2016, after three years of marriage, Kanye surprised Kim with an even more expensive engagement ring, which cost nearly three times the price of the first women.
The Yeezy founder commissioned designer Lorrain Schwartz to create the custom piece, which featured 20 carats of diamonds. Kanye reportedly spent anywhere between $4.5 million to $5 million on the piece. However, other reports have estimated the ring could be worth up to $8 million.
The ring was stolen only weeks later when Kim was infamously robbed at gunpoint in Paris, France in October 2016, though it was later recovered.
Kanye Also Gifted Her A Million-Dollar Necklace
Kanye reportedly gifted his then-wife a very expensive push present following the birth of their second child, son Saint, in 2015.
“I like the idea of a push present,” Kim wrote on her website during the pregnancy. “This pregnancy, I would love a Lorraine Schwartz diamond choker, like the ones I’ve worn before to the Art + Film Gala. Too much? LOL!”
Kanye reportedly heard her wish, and later surprised her with a diamond choker valued at approximately $1 million.
Kim's Affinity For Cartier Bracelets
For her 32nd birthday, Kim reportedly received a $36,700 Panthère de Cartier bracelet from Kanye, who she was dating at the time. For Valentine’s Day 2013, the rapper gifted her a similar feline-inspired bracelet from Cartier, valued around $137,000.
Kim also owns “another diamond-studded Panthère de Cartier bracelet ($91,500), a pavé diamond Love bangle ($42,100) and a giant yellow gold Juste Un Clou bracelet ($37,700).”
Kim Owns Elizabeth Taylor's Old Jewelry
Kim is a huge Elizabeth Taylor fans, so when the late actress's jewelry collection went on sale, the reality star couldn't help but scoop some pieces up for herself. Kim paid $65,000 three jade and diamond bracelets at the auction.
Kim's Undying Love For Expensive Earrings
Not all of her designer earrings have been received well by the public. In September 2022, the SKIMS founder was mocked online for wearing Balenciaga earrings in the likeness of credit cards. The earrings were valued at $425.
During an early season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kim infamously cried after losing her $75,000 diamond earrings while swimming in the ocean in Bora, Bora. The earrings she wore to her 2014 wedding to Kanye featured 100-tiny diamonds, and likely cost tens of thousands of dollars.
Kim Once Wore Credit Cards On Her Ears
In September 2022, Kim caused a stir when she was photographed wearing $425 Balenciaga earrings. People couldn’t get over that the jewelry looked like credit cards, with critics saying not only were they unattractive but appeared to be flaunting Kim’s wealth.
Giving Her Children Expensive Jewelry
Kim doesn’t only have a history of treating herself with expensive jewelry. She’s done the same for her children. When her eldest daughter North was only 16-months old, the SKIMS founder bought the infant $50,000 diamond earrings.
Why Kim Doesn’t Like Wearing Real Jewelry
After being robbed, Kim’s opinion on wearing lavish jewelry in public changed (especially since the accused thieves later admitted they planned the robbery after seeing Kim boast about her wealth online).
Shortly after the incident, Kim admitted she wasn’t sure if she’d ever wear real, expensive jewelry again.
“They had been hearing interviews that I did getting excited about this jewelry or this jewelry, and it’s not to say that I’ll never wear jewelry again or anything like that,” she said in April 2017. “I truly don’t know if I’d ever feel comfortable. My whole life has changed in terms of how I travel and what security.”
In June 2021, the reality star discussed how she was slowly feeling more comfortable wearing jewelry in public. "As far as jewelry, if I'm wearing something, it's borrowed. It's fake," she said during the Keeping Up with the Kardashians reunion.
However, Kim said that she doesn’t allow expensive items (including jewelry) into her main home in Calabasas. She’s also doubled her security since the Paris robbery.
"No expensive items ever come to my home. I have it all taken from security before I even enter my home. I can't sleep if I have jewelry in my safe, or money, or anything at my house. I just don't live my life like that," she explained.
Kim may have a lot of expensive jewelry to her name, but it appears the reality star now struggled with wearing it, let alone having it in her own. However, we doubt that Kim has purchased her last diamond piece.
