Based way up on the 32nd as well as 33rd floor of the magnificent Hyatt, you can take advantage of all-encompassing cityscape views. Based on the 24th floor, this exclusive private members hideout has incredible views, even from the bathrooms. Glamour is very much the order of the day at M1NT with an array of banquette seating and a high society crowd to boot. There is an awe-inspiring rooftop where you can admire the views while sipping on one of their cocktails. Meanwhile $700 will get you a private table where you can be served in full gazed of their enormous live shark display.

6 Salon de Ning: Rose Champagne $30 Per Glass

This five star venue is housed in the beautiful Peninsula Shanghai. Known as Salon de Ning you will be transported back to a golden era thanks to the stunning décor and decadent use of colour. Let 1930's Shanghai unfurl before your very eyes with rich leathers and various animal prints. Check out the upside-down room whilst on your travels. However, if you want to relax the Salon de Ning Rose Champagne priced at $30 a glass will ensure you are not left fixed to the ceiling.

5 Flair Bar: $80 Minimum Spend 

Perched up in the heavens on floor 58, you will find the ultra-chic Flair Bar inside the Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong. It has held the distinction of being the highest place to enjoy a drink outdoors in Shanghai. Stretching across two levels, your eyes will be able to focus on the striking Oriental Pearl Tower, while there is a modern fireplace to warm you up. For $80, tables can be reserved on the terrace to soak up the best views.

4 Penthouse Bar on 39: Glenmorangie Whisky Aged 30 Years $82

Located in the beautiful Hilton Shanghai, Penthouse Bar on 39 is a winner with drinkers across the world. This particular hotel enjoys an enviable location within touching distance of not only the People's Square but the Xintiandi Area and The Bund. With a definite New York vibe, this lounge bar can be found 39 floors up and boasts of impressive skylight vistas. This takes in a variety of major Shanghai landmarks. 3 Skydome Bar: Speciality Chinese Cocktail $165

On the 47th floor lies a futuristic bar known as Skydome. This Shanghai spot is something from another dimension which is all lit up at night. It offers you a fabulous view of both the People's Square and People's Par. 2 Johnnie Walker House: $475 Per Bottle

Johnnie Walker has really come to Shanghai with gusto. Based in what used to be the French Concession, it is recognised as the only JW Maison outside of Bonnie Scotland. You will need to be in the know as getting into the bar is by invitation only. It is only when you get through the doors you can admire some of their rarest bottles on display. The mood is lifted by an arrangement of dangling whisky objets d’art, while floor three is where the real business takes place. This formerly held the title of the longest bar in the world. Yet the Long Bar still holds plenty of credentials to this day. You will find its home inside the glamorous Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund. However, the vibe is still very upmarket once you slink up to the colossal 40 foot bar. Here you can find a plethora of cocktails and martinis to boot. If you want to go the extra mile then why not order a bottle of their finest Beluga Gold Line Vodka for $1,040 a bottle.
