No celebrity is safe from the wrath of PETA, not even Rihanna. The animal rights activists sent the singer a cheeky gift after she was spotted wearing a real fur coat.

According to TMZ, PETA sent a letter to Rihanna team asking her to switch the real fur coat for a faux one, and they even sent her a fake fur jacket as motivation to make the change.

PETA also appealed to the fact that Rihanna is pregnant with her second child.

"As a mother, you know what it's like to feel protective and to want to make sure no harm comes to your family,” the letter explained. “Please understand that this desire – this instinct even – is shared by the minks, foxes, and rabbits who are torn away from their families and killed for their fur."

"Won't you please help create a kinder world for your children to grow up in by deciding today that you'll no longer wear fur?" PETA added.

The organization also offered to take Rihanna’s fur clothing and donate them to survivors of the recent earthquakes in Syria and Turkey. PETA argued they have a reason to wear real fur, since they lost their belongings and need warm clothes to survive the winter weather.

Rihanna is no stranger to wearing real fur, but she’s not against vegan material, either. In 2020, PETA presented Rihanna with its Compassion in Fashion award, for releasing a line of faux leather Fenty products.

"PETA recognizes and thanks Rihanna for making her new FENTY capsule collection completely leather-free, showing off chic and cruelty-free vegan clothing that is both animal-friendly and better for the planet,” the animal rights activists wrote on their website.

"Rihanna should take a bow for this stunning cruelty-free collection,” PETA Senior Vice President Lisa Lange said in her own statement. “With her new vegan collection, Rihanna shows how easy it is to create a killer look that no animal had to die for."

So far, Rihanna hasn’t publicly responded to PETA’s recent plea for her to switch to faux fur. But she’s hardly the first celebrity to be called out by the organization.

In January, Dakota Johnson’s new campaign with Gucci was criticized by PETA. The year prior, in June, both Drake and Jack Harlow came under fire by the organization for featuring racing horses in a music video.

Even Ciara and Russell Simmons were publicly targeted by PETA last year after bringing a new puppy home. The organization slammed them for seemingly getting the dog through a breeder versus adopting at a shelter.
