Paparazzis are always stalking and following celebrities. Why not, when pictures of famous people are bound to sell for a fortune. Some celebrities, however, have taken it upon themselves to just sell the rights of their photos to the highest bidder. Here now is a list of the top 10 most expensive celebrity photos.
10. Anna Nicole, Daniel and Dannielyn Smith, In Touch Magazine, September 2006 – $400,000
The life of Anna Nicole Smith is the stuff of soap operas. She used to be a Playboy model and was even declared as the magazine’s Playmate of the Year in 1993. She was also a model of Guess and Lane Bryant. She got married when she was 17 and had a son, Daniel, when she was 18. She then divorced her husband and hooked up with the oil tycoon, J. Howard Marshall, who was about 62 years her senior. The two got married, though Marshall passed away 13 months later. She was then involved in several court battles regarding inheritance. In 2006, her son tragically died due to drug overdose just three days after the birth of her daughter, Dannielyn. In Touch Magazine was able to obtain a rare photo of the three of them together for $400,000.
9. Angelina Jolie, People Magazine, January 2006 – $500,000
In 2006, the world was abuzz with the impending child of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. The two were then considered as the sexiest couple alive. The two had met during the filming of the movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith and the relationship that followed led to the divorce of Pitt with his then-wife Jennifer Aniston. Though Jolie already had two kids adopted prior to her relationship with Pitt, her 2006 pregnancy was her first own child. A picture of a pregnant Jolie was sold to People magazine in January 2006 for $500,000.
8. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, US Weekly, April 2005 – $500,000
The two were the “it” couple, though it did not come without controversy. Pitt was already married to Jennifer Aniston at the time he met Jolie. Jolie, on the other hand, was very outspoken about the unattractiveness of a married man who cheats on his wife, having seen the effects on her own family when her father became disloyal to her mom. Yet, the two could not prevent from falling in love when they met during the filming of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. They tried to deny it at first, but US Weekly got the scoop in April 2005 when it published a picture of the two together.

Britney Spears has always been on top of the pop world, regardless of instability and other issues being thrown at her. Her albums always spewed out hit songs and chart toppers. In 2004, she got married to Kevin Federline, who was a music artist himself. The marriage resulted in a child, named Sean Preston Federline. Barely a couple of months later, the three were featured in a photograph by People magazine, which bought the rights for $500,000.
6. Anna Nicole Smith and Howard Stern, People Magazine, September 2006 – $1 million
September 2006 was a bittersweet moment for Anna Nicole Smith. She bore a new child named Dannielyn. Three days later, her eldest child, a son named Daniel, passed away due to drug overdose. Questions arose as to who the father of the baby was. Howard Stern, the shock radio disc jockey who represented Smith in her cases, claimed he was the father of the baby. People magazine thereafter purchased a photo of Stern and Smith together for a cool million.

In 2007, Angelina Jolie decided to adopt yet another baby. She already had two adopted kids at the time, aside from her own baby with Brad Pitt. She took in a three-year-old Vietnamese kid named Pax Thien, who came from an orphanage in Ho Chi Minh. Pax was an abandoned child and was adopted by Jolie as a single parent because of stringent Vietnamese laws disallowing unmarried couples from adopting. The right for the child’s image was sold to People magazine for a couple of million dollars in March 2007. Hello! Magazine also coughed up an undisclosed amount of cash.
4. Larry Birkhead, OK! Magazine, April 2007 – $2 million
Larry Birkhead is a Kentucky native that came into the limelight in February 2007 after the death of Anna Nicole Smith. Smith had left a five-month old child named Dannielyn, and a lot of guys were claiming to be the father. These include Howard Stern, Mark Hatten, Alexander Denk and Frederic Prinz von Anhalt. In April 2007, a court in Bahamas ruled that Birkhead was the father after the result of DNA testing. OK! Magazine purchased a picture of Birkhead for a couple of million dollars that same month
3. Eva Longoria and Tony Parker, OK! Magazine, July 2007 – $2 million
Eva Longoria is one of the hottest actresses around. In 2004, she met Tony Parker, a star basketball player seven years her junior. The two got engaged in the latter part of 2006 and got married in July 2007. OK! Magazine proved to be the fastest on the scene, as well as the publication willing to cough up the most cash, and paid a couple of million dollars for the rights to the couple’s wedding pictures.
2. Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher, OK! Magazine, October 2005 – $3 million
Demi Moore, an extremely sexy and beautiful actress from the 80’s, had managed to retain her good looks even a couple of decades later. In 2003, she met Ashton Kutcher, an actor 15 years her junior. The two got married in September 2005. A month later, OK! Magazine published the couple’s pictures for $3 million.

Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt is the first-born child of Angelina Jolie. With a mom like Jolie and a dad like Brad Pitt, she was expected to grab attention no matter what she does. Just a month after her birth, People magazine forked out $4.1 million for the right to publish her picture. Hello! magazine also paid $3.5 million, as it got the couple’s nod to publish the baby’s pictures in Europe.
