5 Meteor: $46 Million

The Meteor was built by Royal Huisman, and first set sail in May 2007. This incredible sailboat was surprisingly below budget for the owners of the boat, so it’s hard to imagine just how much further they could have gone with the amazing architecture. Down below, you'll find a library completely made out of mahogany, and of course, a fireplace. The Meteor’s full speed can reach up to 14.6 knots, which is some serious power for a sailboat of this size. So enjoy that martini on deck, and take in the amazing beauty of the boat, and the sea.

4 Mirabella V: $50 Million

Launched in 2003, this massive sailboat is no disappointment. The original owner of the Mirabella was former CEO of the Avis car rental company, Joseph Vittoria; later selling the sailboat, no longer making it for charters. The Mirabella is large enough to fit a double-decker bus below deck, and not protrude out; imagine that while sailing around the world! This luxurious sailboat also offers spacious room for 12 guests, and includes a garage below deck to help transport the guests to and from shore. Don't forget about the amazing features along with the Mirabella V, including jet skis, kayaks, and three small remote control versions of the Mirabella herself.

3 Athena: $95 Million

With a great name like Athena, you can imagine the beauty and strength that this sailboat entails. The Athena launched in 2004, and was created by the once again Royal Huisman, for James H. Clark, who was an internet entrepreneur at the time. Athena includes pretty spectacular rooms and features that you would never expect a sailboat to have; a movie theatre, a dive locker to store all of your equipment, an on-board Jacuzzi, and a very classy library.

2 Maltese Falcon: $150 Million

One of the most expensive sailboats in the world is the legendary Maltese Falcon. If you've seen the 1941 film noir movie, then you'll know that the name works perfectly; the Maltese Falcon has been the symbol for the possession of something almost unreachable, with how mysterious it is. The sailboat is just as mysteriously extravagant; built by the Italian Perini Navi Yachts, it's 289 feet long, and filled with luxurious amenities. The Maltese Falcon can host 12 guests, with six different cabins. The boat also includes a gym and a small submarine, you know, for those cool underwater excursions.

1 Eos: $150 Million

A tie with the Maltese Falcon, but certainly not any less majestic, the Eos is the largest sailing yacht; 305 feet long, to be exact. With its first launching in Germany in 2006, it’s safe to say that the Eos is still holding the top spot on our list. This luxurious sailboat can sleep 16 people, along with the crew on board. Of course, the sailboat includes the fun water toys you need while you're out on the water, including jet skies and smaller power boats. Don't forget your sun hat and drink in hand; you'll never want to see land again.

It’s easy to see why people love boats, and even more specific, sailboats. Not only do they hold a stature of sophistication and grace, but these five sailboats show that everyone can step up their game with almost anything. Who just wants a plain catamaran now, after seeing these beauties? Hopefully after seeing this list you'll get the motivation to own one of these super expensive luxury sailboats and you'll be making your own music videos showing how excited you are to be on a boat.
