Singapore base wealth research firm, Wealth-X ranks art collectors according to the value of their collections. The study revealed the following top billionaire art collectors along with the value of their collections:
1-David Geffen $1.1 Billion Art Collection.
David Geffen has an estimated art collection of $1.1 billion. Geffen, the smartest buyer and seller in the art market for over 10 years had an early collection of the post American artists Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning. In 2006 he sold Pullock’s drip painting (pictured below) for a whopping $140 million and de Kooning’s for over $130 million.
2-Steven Cohen $1 Billion Art Collection.
Steven Cohen has an estimated art collection of $1 billion. Steven Cohen paid Steve Wynn a remarkable $155 million for Pablo Picasso’s “Le Reve” (photo below). He is also the owner of the infamous pickled shark, Damien Hirst creation, “The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living.”
2- Eli Broad $1 Billion Art Collection.
Eli Broad has an estimated art collection of $1 billion. The real estate billionaire art collections include Jeff Koons, Andy Warhol and Andreas Gursky.
Nasser David Khalili has an estimated art collection of $930 million placed at number three. His collection of over 25,000 works includes the top collection of Islamic art and the top collection of Japanese kimonos.
