Leonardo DiCaprio's Tortoise - $400

Talented actor and activist Leonardo DiCaprio decided to buy himself an African spurred tortoise in 2010 to the tune of $400. The animal was reportedly around 7 years old at the time, and weighed around 45 pounds.

Tortoises can live up to 200 years and massively increase in size. It's not known how much DiCaprio spends to care for his pet, but the $400 doesn't come anywhere close to the cost of the next celebrity pets on this list!

Usher's GoldenDoodle - $12,000

Usher is one of the most-successful recording artists and producers in the industry to date, so dropping some serious dough on a coveted dog was no problem for him in 2012! After attending the Pencils of Promise Gala in New York City, he ended up outbidding Gossip Girl star Jessica Szohr on a GoldenDoodle puppy for the price of $12,000.

The money went to a charity to build schools in third-world nations, so the donation was  well received. Though he initially wanted to name her Poppy Raymond, he later went with Scarlett!

Britney Spears' Dogs - $29,000 a year

Britney Spears was the original Nineties pop princess, but it seems these days she is princess of the puppies. TMZ was able to obtain Spears' financial documents from 2016, which stated that she spent around $29,000 on her dogs alone.

We're not exactly sure where that entire cost comes from, but it is well-publicized that Spears spends around $300 per grooming session for her dogs, so we can only imagine what other sorts of high class care they receive from their owner.

Kirstie Alley's Lemurs - $40,000 - 50,000 a year

Actress Kirstie Alley reports that her home is a bit crazy, due to the 14 ringed tailed lemurs she keeps as pets! She says that even though her lemurs have distinct personalities from one another, they are very calm overall.

The climate in Los Angeles is perfect for the creatures, as it is not too far off from their native tropical rainforest ecosystem. Alley employs lemur caregivers on her payroll, and ends up spending up to $50k a year to provide for her pets.

Mariah Carey's Dogs - $45,000+ a year

Mariah Carey's dogs are extremely privileged! The singer and pop star spends around $45,000 a year just to groom her prized pooches, and even occasionally sends them on their own luxury vacations.

The cost for their 2017 holiday in England was $25,000 for around the clock care, including day trips, comfy hotel beds, and even personalized meals. Carey spent around $175,000 for the jet to transport them to their luxury vacation. If that's not first class, we don't know what is.

Lady Gaga's Koi Fish - Around $50,000

Lady Gaga is one of the most well-known pop stars in the world, so it's no wonder she has the cash to indulge in an expensive pet. In 2013, it was reported that she dropped around $50,000 to fill her home aquarium with 27 koi directly from Japan.

Gaga had recently undergone hip surgery that year, and reportedly purchased the fish to entertain her while she healed. According to rumors, Gaga had allegedly dreamed of the fish, so she had her team procure the koi soon after.

Barbra Streisand's Dogs - $50,000 - $100,000

"Funny Girl" Barbra Streisand currently has three beautiful Coton du Tulear dogs named Miss Violet, Miss Scarlett, and Miss Fanny. Their care, unlike many on this list does not make up the bulk of their cost, and that is because Miss Scarlett and Miss Violet are cloned from Streisand's previous dog, Samantha!

Streisand revealed that she had stomach and mouth cells removed from Samantha before her passing in 2017. Miss Fanny is a distant cousin of her beloved Samantha, so it seems that Streisand has carried on the family legacy by caring for the three pups!

Nicolas Cage's Octopus - $150,000

Before he filed for bankruptcy in 2009, Nicolas Cage used to own some strange artifacts, including rare dinosaur fossils, two king cobras, and and even a castle. However, Cage can also mark one other item off the list--owning an octopus that was valued around $150,000.

Why own an octopus? Cage said that it allegedly helped him be a better actor. We're not quite sure how the octopus assisted, but for $150,000, we're also not willing to find out. No further mention of Cage's eight-legged friend has been heard of since the bankruptcy filing.

Mike Tyson's 3 Royal Bengal Tigers - $210,000+

Famous heavyweight boxer Mike Tyson has made some interesting choices in his time, but buying 3 Bengal tigers as pets might top the list. He revealed earlier this year that his car dealer introduced him to the idea of owning the exotic animals while he was in prison. The athlete reportedly paid around $70,000 per tiger, and spent thousands on their feeding and upkeep.

Even though he later had to give up the big cats, he has a lasting memory of their presence due to the fact that one broke a gold tooth out when he tried to offer her affection!

Paris Hilton's Dogs - $325,000

Paris Hilton LOVES her dogs. She loves them so much that she decided to build them a two-story mansion replica of her own house, complete with a patio, air conditioning, and designer furniture. The inside of the mansion is, in true Hilton fashion, painted bubblegum pink with lush furniture and a winding staircase.

Hilton has over 30 pets and a $300 million net worth, so the $325,000 price tag on her doggy deluxe mansion is just pocket change. Now, that's hot!
