The new owner of Leonardo DiCaprio’s Malibu home is expected to save $4 million.
The 38-year-old The Great Gatsby actor bought the property in 2002 located at 23736 Malibu Colony Rd, Malibu, CA 90265 for $6 million. In May last year, he listed it for a rental worth $75,000 a month. Come November 2012, the home hit the market for $23 million and just last year, it was back to its rental price of $75,000 a month.
For its latest deal, DiCaprio re-listed the home with a cutting price of $4.1 million, downsizing it $18.9 million from its original price of $23 million.
The 8,700-square-foot property, built in 1927, has houses seven bedrooms, six bathrooms, floor-to-ceiling windows, two kitchens (one located in the separate guesthouse) and gym. It also boasts of high ceilings, open floor plan leading out to the outdoor living spaces, rooftop terrace, patio and deck, all are overlooking the beach.
Nestled on the beach front, the new owner is set to take pleasure in the picturesque view of the ocean.
DiCaprio decided to sell the prime property as he seldom frequents the West Coast and considers New York his new home. He purchased an eco-friendly penthouse in Battery Park and is rumored to be buying another Manhattan property.
