If you are interested in buying a house in the Hamptons, you will definitely be referred to one of the most popular and distinguished design-builders in the area, Jeffrey Collé.
Collé is a native of Long Island in New York. He learned the basics on building working and carpentry from his grandfather and father in the family’s construction business. He went on to establish his own company in 1978 which is now known as JC Construction Management.
Collé has been known for building beautiful homes in the Hamptons for more than four decades now. He is the preferred designer by many because of his unique and unwavering loyalty to Old World craftsmanship. His projects are also known for the use of customized and superior quality materials coupled by the work delivered by his highly-skilled cabinetmakers, millworkers, and master carpenters. His staff fabricates on-site to meet Collé’s exacting specifications. He endeavours to combine the finest in high technology and artistry. He challenges his people to use innovative methodologies to achieve his one of a kind vision. He can do both traditional and contemporary homes.
Collé builds both commercial and residential projects which are most often high-end. His clients do not mind though because they know that they can be assured of customized, very particular, unique, and high quality outputs. His clients are pleased that everything in a Collé project is done by hand.
Perhaps it also helps that Collé does his best to meet his clients’ demands and desired specifications. Prospective clients can simply e-mail him details of the project such as the scope, size, and location and in his website, he promises to respond within 24 hours. He even helps connect potential clients to his old clients as these former customers are probably the best endorsers he could get.
With his popularity, it is not surprising that his projects are often featured in local and international publications like The New York Times, House Beautiful, New York Magazine, Architectural Digest, and Forbes.
The Conscientious Builder
Perhaps the best thing about Jeffrey Collé is that he is not only after building and earning huge profits. He also makes sure that the Hamptons will be spared from overbuilding and overcrowding. His projects are known for having expansive gardens, orchards, and lawns, instead of the usual overcrowded houses on huge parcels of land. The homes that Collé builds would normally have generous reserves, in keeping with the tradition to preserve the beauty and the agricultural origins of the Hamptons. Proof of these are the following Collé projects:
Collé is currently working on a 40-acre farm parcel project located at Wainscott. Despite the huge property involved, there will only be six homes in the subdivision. The remaining 70% of the area will be reserve.
Collé worked on a 62-acre parcel of ocean front property located at Daniel’s Lane in Sagaponack. The subdivision was designed to contain only five houses and the remaining 45 acres of the area were used as reserve.
7 Sagg Pond
Collé also worked on a 34-acre property located on Sagg Pond. It was purchased from the Lauder family. The area will only have two lots with the remaining 25 acres used as reserve.
6 Notable Projects
Here are some of the more notable and popular projects undertaken by Jeffrey Collé:

- The record-breaking moving and relocation of the 20,000-square foot mansion located in Water Mill.

The outer part of the house contains a heated gunite pool, numerous screened indoor and outdoor areas, and a covered porch. It is also one of the oldest houses in Water Mill. This historic structure, price of which is still to be determined, can be used as a guest house.

It includes some modern touches like the use of a geothermal HVAC system and an open layout.
1 The Pond House
This 12,000-square foot property costs $30 million. It is a grand expansion of an art studio that was originally designed in the early 20th century by the American architect Stanford White. It boasts of six bedrooms, 18th century fireplaces, a 30-foot high great room, a pool, and a terrace made of Turkish limestone. Collé tried his best to retain the original structure but he also rotated the house 90 degrees to take advantage of the Georgica Pond view.
