Steven Tyler’s newly bought car is seemingly expensive that it even exceeds the GDP of some smallest countries in the world.
The Aerosmith vocalist and former American Idol judge flaunted his custom convertible Hennessey Venom GT Spyder worth $1.1 million at the John Varvatos 10th Annual Stuart House Benefit in Los Angeles.
The model, purchased by Tyler in May last year is a modified version of the Lotus Exige, the fastest convertible in the world. It is also one of the five models built for 2013.
It features a 1,200-horsepower V8 engine that can accelerate from zero to 60 miles per hour in 2.5 seconds and a maximum speed of 275 mph. It has outshone the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport which is the “fastest production car in the word,” having a speed of 258 mph.
"Steven came to us last year and asked if we could build his Venom GT as a roadster," John Hennessey, owner of Hennessey Performance Engineering.
"This increased the weight of our vehicle by about 30 lbs to a curb weight of 2743 lbs (1244 kilograms). We decided to increase the Venom GTs power to 1244 bhp to maintain our 1 horsepower per 1 kilogram power to weight ratio."
