George Bush’s Ford Truck – Estimated Value – $30,000
George W. Bush is the former President of the United States. So, he should certainly be moving around in something flashy. Bush has often been seen in one of the most dependable trucks – the Ford F-150 King Ranch 4×4 SuperCrew. These trucks are durable, they have been ranked high by users and critics consistently for years.
George W. Bush decided to auction his vehicle recently because he wanted to raise funds for the Fisher House Foundation. As a President, he was quite unpopular really, at least by the time his term ended. He has rarely been seen in the public perhaps because of this. But he does good work for the Fisher House Foundation that raises money for members of the military and their families. So the auction was likely to raise decent money.
Bush purchased the F-150 King Ranch 4×4 SuperCrew in 2009, he has driven it on his ranch only, and so, it remains virtually new. A vehicle in this condition would usually fetch about $30,000, without the pedigree. But since it belongs to Bush, the experts said that it should have fetched around $600,000. Sadly however, it raised only about half of this. Celebrity auctioneer Jay Leno was seen pleading for better bids, but it didn’t work.
The F-150 King Ranch 4×4 SuperCrew has four doors, automatic transmission, and larger grilles and headlights than the previous models. It comes with Ford’s ADVANCETRAC Roll Stability Control System that has won many safety awards. It runs on the 4.6 L 2-valve V8, 4.6 L 3-valve V8, or the 5.4 L 3-valve Triton V8 engine, depending on the model. This model was launched in 2009, but was later upgraded to the traditional full-size truck platform of Ford.
