Dubai has always positioned itself as the country of sheikhs who know how to spend money extravagantly. Whether it is the tallest building of the world; Burj Khalifa estimated to cost around $1.5 billion to the UAE government or a large man made palm island that is once again worth billions of dollars, Dubai has always attracted tourists by spending money in style.

However, nothing matches the city’s fleet of police super cars. Maybe the money spent is not yet in the billions on these ridiculously expensive machines but which country in the world would not be proud to own a range of the world’s most expensive and fastest cars as its police cars. Dubai has followed its signature style of spending money to own something, which the rest of the world has never thought of. Whether it is man made islands or the tallest building or now the fleet of these amazing super cars, Dubai knows how to get attention of tourists for sure. Yes these expensive mean machines are not used in high-speed pursuits or giving a ride to a criminal. They are rather used as an advertisement to attract tourists in the country.

As of now, there are about 13 super cars in the fleet. The latest entry in the astounding Dubai police fleet is the Brabus B63S 700 Widestar SUV customized from Mercedes Benz G63 AMG. For some of you who do not know, Brabus is a German high performance aftermarket tuning company, which specializes in Mercedes Benz and Maybach cars. It is almost a 40 year old company that has been famous in making and selling some of the most expensive cars in the world by tuning and increasing the performance of already expensive and luxurious Mercedes Benz and Maybach vehicles.

3 What Makes The Brabus B63-S 700 Widestar Special?

This off-roader comes with an enormous power of 700 hp and 960 Nm. To get this power brabus has modified the already powerful 5.5-liter bi-turbo V8 engine of the Mercedes Benz G63 AMG. In addition, to get higher boost pressure, the stock turbo of the original car has been replaced by two Brabus turbos that have a larger compressor unit than the original. All of these modifications give this machine a top speed of 240km/h and can go from 0-100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds. Interestingly, what is also notable about the car is the enormous body of a widestar, having rims of 23X11 inches. This Emirati police car has additional sports body panel, sports exhaust and air suspension that gives this car the extra wide and masculine look. It also, arguably, makes it the first modified super car in the Dubai police fleet. Brabus handed over the SUV to the Dubai police at the recently held Dubai Motor show. This adds up to the already existing fleet of super cars owned by Dubai police.

2 What Are Other Super Cars Owned by the Emirati Force?

The Brabus Widestar is not the only priced possession of the Dubai police. Before owning this huge machine, the police in Dubai have already been envied by the force of other countries and many men for having driven some of the most amazing machines of the world. The list includes Mercedes SLS, Bentley continental GT, the fast and furious Lamborghini Aventador, Bugatti Veyron, Ferrari FF, Mercedes SL63, two Audi R8's, Nissan GTR and of course the $1.4 million Aston Martin One-77. While the most expensive addition has been the Aston Martin, the fastest car in the fleet is the Bugatti Veyron. In spite of being the fastest and the strongest cars of the world, according to some officials in the Dubai police force they are never intended to be used for high-speed chases or to catch a criminal.

1 What is the Purpose of These Cars?

According to the officials of Dubai, these cars are bought to give a new definition and style to the Dubai police and of course attract tourists. Col Nabil Abdulla Al Redha, director for the Dubai police fleet confirms that it all started with Lamborghini. The favorable reaction of media and public prompted the government to get more super cars for their fleet. It is an advertisement for the country. Dubai has always been in favor of advertising to get more tourists in the country. This is the reason why these cars are usually used in tourist places and one can generally find people clicking pictures with these green and white Dubai police livery super cars. This is one place in the world where you won’t mind being stopped by the police or offered a lift by them.
