American professional ice hockey left winger for the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League Max Pacioretty has unsurprisingly hoisted his Las Vegas home on the market with an asking price of almost $12 million.
The 2020 All-Star left winger, who had been signed with the Golden Knights on a four-year contract valued at about $28 million, paid $6.4 million for the home in Summerlin, an affluent master planned community about 10 miles due west of the Strip, in August 2021. He bought the home from then-teammate and star defensemen Alex Pietrangelo, who went on to acquire a $5.25 million lot in the exclusive Summit Club.
Pacioretty quickly sunk millions into an extensive renovation and expansion of the sprawling one-story home, which sits atop a vast basement and presides over a half-acre parcel. Built in 2018, the newly expanded ultra-modern mansion now measures in at 10,181 square feet with six bedrooms and six bathrooms, plus two powder rooms and a six-car garage.
Tucked behind the guarded gates of the Indigo subdivision within The Ridges development, Madison Blau BenShimon with IS Luxury described the home as “timeless and tasteful. There was a lot of remodeling done both on the main floor and the entire basement that had been completely demolished and reconfigured,” Blau BenShimon said. “The house is considerably larger now.”
Indigo only allows one-story homes, which leads many homeowners to do basements, she said. Originally, the residence had a partial basement with a 15-car garage. Pacioretty took about 2,000 square feet of the garage and converted it into livable space. The finished living area of the basement now spans 3,500 square feet. The basement had unfinished ceilings and was more industrial style, but Pacioretty and his wife Ekaterina finished it in high style for their family of five children and to add the other uses, Blau BenShimon said. “They wanted those extra bedrooms and rec spaces,” Blau BenShimon said. “It wasn’t intended to sell so quickly,” per Dirt.
The home is arranged around an interior courtyard with sliding glass door access from the living and dining rooms. Open plan living and entertaining spaces flow into one another and feature medium-brown wood floors, high ceilings and a book-matched marble fireplace, The double-island kitchen gleams with polished stone counters and stainless-steel appliances.
Three en-suite guest and family bedrooms, plus an office, are clustered in a wing with the primary suite, and there are two additional guest bedrooms on the reimagined lower level that also houses a den with wine cellar and bar, a gym with sauna, and a state-of-the-art home theater.
Out back, beyond a spacious loggia with a complete outdoor kitchen, there’s a 55-foot-long pool with a circular center island lounger. The backyard had extensive landscaping added to give it a more private feel. Water features and a sports court were also added.
“We love our home. We put so much time and thought into the design. We designed it especially for our family and we are really sad to leave it,” said Max Pacioretty. “That being said, we are excited for the future new owners who will get to call this very special property home. As for us, we are excited about our next chapter in North Carolina.”
“It’s a very versatile home that could work for a lot of people,” Blau BenShimon said. “It could work for a family and retired couple because it has that single-story element. We’ve had several people look at it before the listing and the response has been so positive. It has a warm ambiance and is still modern and updated with European oak flooring and the finishes are just high end with no expense spared. It has a good feel as opposed to some of these modern colder designs that you see a lot in The Ridges right now.”
According to Clark County property records, about a week before he scooped up the Indigo property, Pacioretty had sold another Summerlin home for $6.25 million.
