Russian President Vladimir Putin is getting dogged by sanctions, and now Italian authorities have seized his 459 ft mega yacht. The $700-million luxury yacht stood as a grand showing of the Russian president’s wealth —and was decked out with gold-plated toilet paper holds and a self-playing piano.

The six-deck Scheherazade had been undergoing repairs in the port of Marina di Carrara in Tuscany since last September. Now, it looks like that’s where it will be staying after an investigation found it to be linked with “prominent elements of the Russian government.”

The move came as fears mounted that the massive ship was about to leave. Authorities observed the crew preparing to put the ship to sea as calls for it to be included in the sanctions mounted. Police stormed the mega yacht—which spans nearly 460ft —to execute the order on Friday, the Italian government said.

The Scheherazade is said to feature obscene luxuries across its six decks.

According to The Sun, the ship is equipped with amenities fit for a billionaire. There is said to be a tiled dancefloor that drops down to become a pool, gold-plated toilet paper holders, a judo gym, and a massive home cinema.

The yacht is also said to feature a spa, two helipads, a wood-burning fireplace, and a pool table that is designed to tilt to keep the surface stable in stormy seas.

A worker who helped build it told The Sun: “Every surface is marble or gold. There are countless swimming pools, a spa, a sauna, a theatre, ballrooms, a gym, and two helipads. It’s like a mini-city.”

The Russian President has a few more yachts in his collection, but none as massive or expensive as Scheherazade.

Putin is thought to be the owner of The Graceful, a superyacht spanning nearly 270 ft. Interestingly, the $100 million ship also features a dance floor that transforms into a pool. His collection of yachts also includes The Olympia, thought to be his favorite, which spans 190 ft and boasts a price of nearly $50 million.

Putin—long thought to be the world’s richest man —might have lost his yacht, but he can still rest easy at his $1.4 billion mega-mansion.
