John Legend and Chrissy Teigen are one of the power couples in the industry to be reckoned with. The two have met on the set of Legend’s music video for the song Stereo in 2006. After their first meeting, they did not immediately start dating but according to Teigen said in one of her interviews that they did hooked up that night.

The 42 year old singer John Legend and his model wife Chrissy Teigen have been considered as one of the most dynamic couples in Hollywood. According to Legend, the reason they still have a strong and loving relationship is because they love and respect each other. The couple’s admiration for each other has never ceases until now. Throughout the years, the couple has made clear that they are in it for the long haul which is why they have been buying real estate properties left and right.

The Couple's Eagerness To Find A New York City Home

The couple sure knows how to invest; they currently have real estate properties in West Hollywood and two apartments in New York City. Even before marrying Teigen, Legend has been keen on buying real property assets and has owned several apartments before they got married. The pair who seems to have the perfect rhythm as a couple have been buying several investments through the years and even bought a bigger property because they want to expand their family.

With their eagerness to buy a real estate asset, they pair began to hunt for a home of their own situated in New York City. Their goal is to find a place that is cozy, full of character and has warmth into it. Their search soon yielded them with a beautiful one bedroom loft style apartment located in the historic building on the border NoLIta and Little Italy. As soon as the couple saw the place, they knew that they need to get it as they just fell in love with its moody atmosphere.

Interior and Exterior Details of Their New York

According to Legend, they seem to look for the exact opposite of what a lot of people want. They are drawn to the dark theme of the property while other buyers seem to look for a natural light vibe in a property. Although they really love the place as is, they did some renovation on it with the help of Don Stewart of Desiderata Design with the help of Winka Dubbeldam of Archi-Tectonics. The place has dark leather armchairs which was a vintage Arne Norell designs from the Emmerson Troop. The dining area features a mixed media work done by a bronze bureau by BDDW, Mike Weber and has an Aldo Bakker sculpture.

The master bathroom boasts a black limestone herringbone floor and travertine walls which is outfitted with a Jacques Garcia mirror by Baker. The tub and fittings of the bathroom was done by Waterworks which was taboret by Paul Mathieu for the Stephanie Odegard Collection. It also features a 19th century gilded leather screen from the Dmitriy and Co, this even span one of the bedroom walls as well.

Additional Amenities

The place was designed by Don Stewart and he made sure that one of the couple’s bedrooms is in reclaimed pine which mimics the timber planks that line up an alcove off in the living room. The New York home of model Chrissy Teigen and singer-songwriter John Legend was renovated by Don Stewart of Desiderata Design in collaboration with Winka Dubbeldam of Archi-Tectonics.

The place has some warm metallic touches into it which can be seen from the master bath’s cast-iron tub and the brass fixtures placed in the living room’s bronze bureau and side tables. The property also boasts an open kitchen which has an array of bronze and brass elements which includes the perforated cabinet-door inserts and sculptural barstools by Anna Karlin. There is also a 1970s chandelier from the Lucca Antiques and the bed used is from Siglo Moderno. The table lamps with a green silk coverlet are done by Kriest and Frette respectively.
