Adele is putting her own touch on her new LA mansion, which means removing the movie décor Sylvester Stallone left before he moved out.
It was first reported that Adele had bought the 18,000 square foot home from Sylvester for $58 million in May. But the actor left a variety of movie memorabilia at the estate, including a statue of himself from his cult classic Rocky.
However, The Sun recently reported that Adele has begun renovations on the estate. She recently applied for the permit to remodel the interior.
The publication confirmed that she also wants to remove any of the movie references left behind from Sylvester, which includes a number of statues and artwork pieces.
The estate spans 3.5 acres, and features a stunning main mansion with 8 bedrooms and 12 bathrooms. The property also features a 2-berdroom guest house, an indoor gym, a private driveway, an infinity pool, an art studio, and space for 8 cars.
Another notable feature includes a cigar room with an air ventilation system.
Sylvester had been trying to sell the property for some time before Adele scooped it up, arguably for stellar deal.
The Rambo actor originally listed it for $110 million in early 2021, before lowering it to $80 million that October. He finally sold it to Adele for $58 million earlier this year.
It’s been rumored that Sylvester wanted to get rid of the property quickly since his wife, Jennifer Flavin, filed for divorce shortly after. This would explain why he accepted a lower asking price. Ultimately, the actor reconciled with his wife and the pair withdrew their divorce.
It’s believed that Adele wanted a property in Los Angeles as she’ll be spending more time near California, given her new Las Vegas residency that debuted this month.
She cancelled her original residency earlier this year, which was supposed to be held at The Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace. The British born singer cited COVID concerns, but reports at the time said creative differences also played a part.
“There was no real clarity around what Adele wanted for the show because of the endless changes being made to the production,” one source said. “It seemed that while she has always preferred a stripped-back performance, she was under some pressure to come up with a huge extravaganza.”
Now, Adele will be performing her residency at Planet Hollywood’s Zappo Theatre, where she was reportedly given more creative freedom.
