Planks are great for strengthening your core and helping lose that stubborn fat but did you know there are incredible benefits to the rest of your body if you do them daily?
Whether you love them or hate them, planks are a necessary part of any fitness regimen. Not only that, but they are relatively easy — well depending on how long you hold them. Even if you have to do them on your knees at first, planking is so beneficial to your body inside and out.

Planks build strength and stability in your core, but it also helps with your balance, and it will keep your back straight — which improves your posture. Doing side planks help build your balance because, well, you have to balance on your side. Plus, you will see improved flexibility in your muscles since they are expanding and stretching daily.
If you are not the most coordinated person, planking can help you with that too. Since it focuses on using the abs for stabilization and coordination, that will translate to the rest of your body. After all, the core is your center, so anything building your core will automatically help other parts of your body. When other parts of your body—such as your back—are stronger, you reduce the risk of injury.
Your metabolism will increase when you plank every day too. It burns more calories than traditional exercise, especially when you do it in the morning. Your body will continue to burn calories all day.
Finally, planking every day is great for your nervous system because it stretches and relaxes muscles that are generally stiff all the time. Your psychological state of mind will prove significantly. Planks put you in a better mood because it is almost forcing you to mediate a little while you are doing it. You are so focused on doing the exercise everything else falls aside. Therefore, when you are done, your mood will be lifted.
There is a slew of reasons to do planks every day and plenty of challenges or plans you can follow. If you don't want to follow a specific routine, try a regular plank for 30 seconds and each side for 30 seconds. But we suggest trying a lovely 30-day challenge for you to fully understand how many benefits planking will have on your body.
