In an effort to help the World Health Organization's COVID-19 relief efforts, Matthew Perry, 51, announced on Instagram that he will be releasing a limited-edition Friends-themed clothing collection.
Perry posted a pic himself wearing a white shirt that shows his character, Chandler Bing, along with one of his trademark sarcastic phrases, "Could this BE any more of a t-shirt." He captioned the post, "What is this, a limited-edition t-shirt for charity? For two weeks only, I'm releasing an apparel collection! Proceeds will support the World Health Organization's COVID 19 relief efforts."
Two weeks ago, the actor announced that that an unscripted Friends reunion special was coming to HBO Max in March 2021. "Friends reunion being rescheduled for the beginning of March. Looks like we have a busy year coming up. And that's the way I like it!" he wrote.
According to sources, production on the reunion is expected to start at the beginning of 2021. The special was originally set to debut on May 27 but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After the postponement, Marta Kauffman, the show's co-creator, told ET that she wanted to delay filming until a live studio audience could be present.
Perry, who dated Julia Roberts from 1995 to 1996, was engaged to Molly Hurwitz, a literary manager, on November 26, 2020. The couple reportedly began dating in December 2019 and spent last Christmas together. The actor, who battled alcohol and drug addiction in the late nineties and early 2000s, has been sober for nearly two decades.
In May 2013, Perry received a Champion of Recovery award from the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy for opening Perry House, a sober living home located in his former home in Malibu, California. The actor is currently filming Don't Look Up, a political satire sci-fi disaster comedy written and directed by Adam McKay. The cast includes Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence, who play two astronomers on a media tour to warn mankind that an asteroid is threating to destroy the planet.
