Mark Wahlberg is one of the most successful entertainers in Hollywood, so it's no surprise he owns a beautiful home, but recently, a house he recently sold hit the market again and was snatched up for $12.4 million.

In 2009, Wahlberg bought acres of land in Beverly Park community for $8 million. He then hired celebrity-friendly architect Richard Landry to design his new house and watch over the construction. Richard surely knew the outlines of his job as he is very experienced with designing homes for big names, such as Haim Saban, Wayne Gretzky, Sugar Ray Leonard, Rod Stewart, Tom Brady, and Gisele Bündchen. Landry said that it "is not about building bigger and bigger homes" for the actor who is worth more than $200 million. "There are no ginormous rooms here -there's no ballroom, no bowling alley, no indoor basketball court. I've done most of those kinds of things in other projects, but here it's really a good traditional family house with no craziness to it."

In 2014, five years after he bought the land, Mark Wahlberg finally moved into his new property as the construction appeared to be done.  The current 30,000-square-foot castle-like home housed Wahlberg, his wife Rhea Durham, and their four children. The house has more outdoor offerings, so our tour will start from admiring the magnificent home from bird-eye view to the driveway and a spacious garage.

The gigantic French mansion features a full-sized outdoor basketball court featuring the Boston Celtics logo. Landscaping includes trees and lush grass, and a 2,200-square-foot outdoor loggia with "coffered" ceilings, limestone floors and a fireplace. The entire sprawling property is well-gated and highly secured.

The property also encompasses a large private gym with all necessary training equipment for Mark. It also has a boxing ring for him to practice in.

The house also includes a private pool in the backyard and a tuck-away Jacuzzi grotto surrounded by lush greenery for relaxing. The highlight of this place is the man-made rock formation water park complete with waterfalls and plenty of diving spots.

The living room is painted with a pastel pink color and furnished with many white or glass decorations. A lot of natural light brightens up the room even further. Aside from the couches, the coffee tables, and the side tables, the living room also has a warm fireplace and many subtle and peaceful-looking pieces of art.

The house also has another shared living space which is as warm as the previous one. The chosen wall color for this section of the house is white. While marble and glass were mainly used for the living room, this second space features wooden furniture. The two living spaces actually shared many common details: the roaring fireplaces, the white couches, marble decoration was used, the horse-inspired art-work, and the matching colors of the carpet. This room also uses a lot of natural light, as well as modern light fixtures. We can see at the top of the steps there is a billiard table as well.

The kitchen was very well-lit and very modern. It has a long island in the center and also a small dining table that allows the communication between the cook and family members or other friends. The dining room takes on a more classical look with a delicate chandelier, a long polished wooden table, and soft-cushion white chairs. Artwork can be seen everywhere as they helped to elevate the traditional yet modern white walls. The open-concept and the glass door overlooking the garden also add a modern flair to the space.

The house has two to three large bedrooms. The master includes a lounge area. The room slightly reflects the theme in the living room —which helps to connect the house from room to room. It also has another fireplace, as well as warm color furniture and ornaments that make it a cozy place for a rest.

The master bathroom is as lavish as one can imagine. The place features a shower cabin, an island bathtub, and a flat-screen no less!

The second floor of the house has a deck that looks suitable for a morning coffee or a relaxing moment throughout the day. It's also perfect for a peaceful nap or a starry night; or just a casual family-bonding moment.

This French manor also includes a wine cellar with wrought iron doors and a two-story wood-paneled library. It also has a VIP-standard home theater with comfortable chairs, a high-resolution big screen, a warm fireplace and a minibar section. Velvet carpet is also added to minimize noisy footsteps. Thick curtains were also hung to turn the room dark for better visual impact. Now that's living the dream life.

While he doesn't live there anymore, Whalberg's old home is impressive to say the least. While it didn't fetch the $30 million the owners were asking for, $12 million isn't something to scoff at. Whoever lives there now is probably a very happy homeowner.
