Actress Jessica Biel has recently opened up about what particular regret she has from her slightly younger days.
"What sultry Jessica Biel photoshoots?" is what you may be asking yourself right now and you wouldn't be alone. In today's world of half-naked former Disney stars and more nip slips and other wardrobe malfunctions from prominent actresses than we know what to do with, it's not hard to see why risqué behavior from Jessica Biel, never one to make many waves in the media, could have easily slipped under the radar.
Helping matters is that her regretful days happened in the late 90's and early 00's. Back then, Biel was a breakout star as Mary Camden, a preacher's somewhat rebellious, tomboyish and pretty eldest daughter on the beloved TV show, 7th Heaven. Just like her character on the show, Biel rebelled in real life, just a little, from her otherwise wholesome persona. It began rather innocently enough with a crop top here and a micro-miniskirt there.
But then came the cover for Gear magazine. Biel made headlines when she posed topless for Gear at just 17 years old. The actress told In Style that today, she regrets the photoshoot which shocked and disappointed her fans and even many of her cast mates at the time.
Biel said that when she reached stardom as a teen, she struggled with fitting in the world of fashion. Like her character, she actually was a tomboy growing up and felt more comfortable in a pair of jeans and a tee rather than a glamorous dress.
“It took me a minute to get into those types of womanly things, like bags and shoes, but in my early 20's a light bulb went off and I was like, ‘Oh, I get it now,’" the 36-year-old told In Style.
She still loves jeans and tees for everyday life but doesn't mind throwing on an expensive (and classy) gown for a red carpet event.
“I wish I would've explored some different shapes, and not gone so sexy all the time,” Biel said. “I think if you look at some of my earlier choices, maybe it didn't need to always be about the body." Though she has regrets, she went on to explain that most of her previous fashion choices can easily be chalked up to being young.
The tomboy who wasn't sure what to wear has come a long way from her questionable fashion choices. Today, she has her clothing line owner husband at her disposable for quick fashion tips.
"I say, “Justin, does this work? What’s wrong with it? And how do I fix it?’" Biel said. "He is my best fashion bounce-off."
What a handy hubby! What do you think of Biel's risqué photoshoot and way of dressing at 17? How does it compare to how 17-year-old stars are dressing today? Let us know in the comments!
