Warning: This article contains spoilers from The Boys Season 2.

Season 3 of The Boys, which is currently in pre-production, will delve into the history of Vought in the United States and introduce a new character, Soldier Boy, played by Jensen Ackles, who just finished up a 15-season run on Supernatural.

The new character, who is a parody of Captain America in the comic books, will step in after the death of Stormfront, played by Aya Cash, revealed this season to be a Nazi and the 100-year-old wife of Frederick Vought, who was appointed chief physician at the Dachau concentration camp by Adolph Hitler in 1939.

Giancarlo Esposito's Mr. Edgar this season mentioned that Soldier Boy was given Compound V by Vought in 1944 after he joined the Allied forces and killed “Germans by the dozen." The doctor was eventually pardoned by Roosevelt for his role in the war.

"One of the things I love most about the world in [The Boys] comic books isn't just how fleshed out it is, but the history of it. It goes back 60, 70 years and it's just as fleshed out as it is today," Erick Kripke, the creator of The Boys and Supernatural told EW.

"One of the reasons that we're getting into Soldier Boy [in season 3] and that team, Payback, is we're interested in exploring a little bit of how we got here. Through the history of the supes, we can tell a little bit about the history of America and how we ended up in the current fraught position that we're in. Soldier Boy gives us an opportunity to do that," he added.

Soldier Boy’s team, Payback, "was the Seven before the Seven," Kripke said. A statue of the new character with the engravings "1910-1982" and "True American," is seen at the end of Season 2's seventh episode. Although a start date for filming of the new season has yet to be announced, Kripke said costume designer Laura Jean Shannon has already started working on Soldier Boy's costume, as well as "a couple of other suits that we're going to be seeing in season 3."
