Halle Berry is a big fan of this keto diet cookbook.

Ah, the keto diet. Eat all the protein and leafy greens you can while staying away from grains and empty carbs. It’s a hard diet to get right, but even if you just can’t escape the sweet siren call of sugar then you can at least get behind many the keto diet’s tendencies for lean proteins and vegetables.

Academy Award-winning actress Halle Berry is pretty keen on the keto diet right now. On her #PhitTalks segments on Instagram, the former X-man (should we say woman?) revealed one of her favorite sources of keto-friendly meal ideas: a cookbook called Quick & Easy Ketogenic Cooking: Meal Plans and Time-Saving Paleo Recipes to Inspire Health and Shed Weight by Maria Emmerich.

The title is a bit of a mouthful, but Berry swears by what’s inside.

“Keto diet has changed my life,” Halle said recently on her Instagram. “I have this book…I go here on a regular basis—daily in fact—and this is where I get all my recipes.”

Of course, you can’t just hold up a book and not show what’s inside. Halle shared a few of her favorites, including tuna salad wraps, arctic char with olive salsa, zucchini chips, and others. All of them perfect for the keto-lover in your family.

News of Halle’s endorsement eventually made it back to the author herself, and Maria couldn’t help but send Berry a thank you card for her free celebrity plug.

Emmerich also shared a heartwarming story about how this book changed her life around. Apparently, her husband had recently lost his job and the Emmerich family was having trouble making ends meet. On top of that, they were in the process of adopting a child and really needed the cash.

A friend of hers convinced her to write a keto-friendly cookbook, and the sales really turned her life around. She eventually adopted a second son and kept writing cookbooks for the keto aficionado. Now she’s got a line of 7 books, including Keto Comfort Foods, Keto Restaurant Favorites, and the simply titled Keto.
