So if you have a fast metabolism your body is able to burn calories faster and uses energy more efficiently.

However, having a slow metabolism is not as common as you might think. As well as not being able to burn calories as efficiently as others, there are also other signs to look out for. Physical signs such as brittle nails, dry skin, and even losing your hair. You'll also be fatigued a lot of the time and find it challenging to even complete the most simple of tasks as your body isn't creating enough energy for you to do so.

If you have read all of the above and still believe you are suffering from a slow metabolism, or are now convinced that you are, there are ways in which you can improve it. First off, eat less sugar. Replace it with protein and healthy fats. Strength training is also key, so perhaps switch out some of the cardio your metabolism is making too difficult for you anyway with a little weight lifting. Most importantly, don't panic. Your metabolism can be altered and improved with a couple of lifestyle tweaks as you can see.
