Cadbury has put an age-old argument to bed, revealing where exactly people should be storing their chocolate prior to consumption.
Ever since the advent and popularization of social media, no one can have an opinion on anything without someone vociferously opposing it. Whether it be something extremely controversial or a topic you're surprised anyone is interested in at all, let alone dead against, someone on Twitter or Facebook will have an opinion opposite to your own and won't be afraid to let you know about it.
When the topic leans more towards the trivial side is when things get entertaining. There's little in this world more amusing than someone vehemently defending something entirely mundane that no one should care about very much at all. One of the oldest of those arguments is where one stores their chocolate between purchase and consumption.
About half of chocolate eaters store their bars in the fridge, while the other half keep them in the cupboard. There are apparently also a few who keep it in the freezer, but let's not get into that as we don't have all day. Those who keep it in the fridge like their chocolate toe be hard and fresh, while those who store it in the cupboard would likely argue that's how it's kept in stores, so why change things up?
Well, it's a win for cupboard-lovers everywhere as chocolate giants Cadbury has revealed that is the correct way to store its products. "Chocolate should always be stored in a slightly cool, dry, dark place such as cupboard or pantry at temperatures less than 21°C to ensure the quality isn’t compromised," Cadbury tweeted. So that's that, no more arguing, right?
Well, probably not. As is often the case with online arguments, even when an official source has the final say on a topic, those who have been opposed to that say all along still aren't swayed. Plus, if you think chocolate tastes better after it has been in the fridge, then keep storing it in the fridge. Just because those who make it believe it tastes better when stored elsewhere doesn't mean you'll think the same way.
