Adele Turns 30 With A 'Titanic' Bash [Photo]

Adele just turned 30, and she really knows how to throw a birthday bash. Her party was themed after one of the greatest movies and box office successes of all time Titanic, which starred Kate Winslet as the character Rose Dawson, Leonardo DiCaprio as the character Jack Dawson, and Billy Zane as the character Caledon Hockley, who was Jack’s nemesis. The two men fight for the love interest of Rose. She falls for Jack, even though he is from a much lower class, much to the chagrin of Caledon who is a blue-blood upper-class gentleman.

Titanic was directed by James Cameron, who cleverly added this love triangle to a historical story that everyone knows of a big boat that hits an iceberg, and then sinks. The audience already knows the story will have a tragic end, yet Cameron takes it to a new level and delivers a spectacular version of the story, making it also about romance and a love lost. At the end of the film, there is not a dry eye in the movie theater.

Adele posted on Instagram that she went all out for her birthday by wearing a costume that matched the one worn by Winslet playing Rose in the movie. Adele’s dress was a perfect replica of what Rose wore, complete with a replica of the “Heart of the Ocean” necklace, made with diamonds and sapphires, which the Rose character drops into the ocean at the end of the movie.

Adele’s slimmer figure looked stunning as she came down the stairs to make her entrance into the party on a recreation of the grand staircase from the Titanic. She posted a photo of this moment on Instagram, thanking friends, family, and fans. She added a special P.S. note to Childish Gambino (Donald Glover) saying she adores him. Other details at the party included the famous clock from the ship, where Rose and Jack meet up in the movie to start their secret love affair and life vests like the ones used in the movie. These details created a convincing ambiance.

It is easy to imagine that Adele could have played the character of Rose. Hollywood producers are you paying attention? Somebody should cast Adele in a major feature film. She would do extremely well, just like she has with every other part of her hugely successful career. Happy Birthday, Adele!
