Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are no doubt Hollywood's strongest couple. If they ever broke up, we think love would be ruined for all of us. We don't think we would survive it after Brangelina's divorce. Blake and Ryan first met when they were both cast in DC's Green Lantern film. Blake and Ryan's meeting is often thought of as the only positive point about the film. Ryan was cast as the lead, Hal Jordan AKA Green Lantern himself and Blake was cast as Carol Ferris, his love interest. At the time both of the actors were in relationships. Blake was dating her Gossip Girl co-star Penn Badgley, and Ryan had been married to Scarlett Johansson for two years. Shortly after the movie was cast, Blake and Penn broke up, and Scarlett and Ryan announced their divorce. Blake Lively went to high school with actor and model Kelly Blatz and admitted she always had a little crush on him. The two Californian babes seemed to be paired well but, as we now know, clearly weren't. It worked out well for both of them because they dated from 2004 until 2007. He was Blake's first ever boyfriend, and the admittedly sweet couple starred together in the 2006 horror film Simon Says. It was the film debut of Kelly, even though it wasn't a film for the cinematic history books, let's just say. It was shortly after that when Blake landed her big role as the popular Serena Van Der Woodsen in the widely loved series Gossip Girl. Around the same time, she and Kelly broke up.

Kelly Blatz is still acting, keeping busy these days with his latest roles being on Fear The Walking Dead, Timeless, The Good Doctor, and a few movies in post-production. Kelly is also seemingly happy relationship wise, with the most recent news being him and Australian actress Nicky Whelan were seen kissing on a beach on the Gold Coast. We wish the best for the two, and hope Kelly finds a love as strong as Blake and Ryan's!

Penn Badgley From Gossip Girls

Blake and Penn Badgley first met on the set of Gossip Girl. They're two of the four main actors of the show, and their characters had the long-running romance of the show as well. Blake and Penn dated for three years and broke up shortly before Blake and Ryan started to fall in love. Unlike their on-screen characters, Serena and Dan, Blake and Penn didn't break up and get back together every five minutes but seemed to have a pretty solid connection. Also unlike their characters, they didn't get married in a beautiful wedding ceremony either. Blake and Penn broke up in 2010, but still managed a further two years of acting together for the show. They were more amicable than some (looking at you Ian Somerhalder) and managed to stay professional for the show.

Nowadays Penn is continuing to act, with him starring in the lead role of new drama series You, which is filming now. It's based on a book of the same name by author Caroline Kepnes and is set to come out later this year. He is also very happy in his personal life as last year he married his longtime girlfriend, American musician, and birth doula (a woman who supports and gives advice to pregnant women throughout pregnancy and birth) Domino Kirke.

Leonardo DiCaprio...yeah they dated

This one we're not sure we can classify as a full relationship. It was more of a whirlwind romance because it only lasted five months, and there was a lot of traveling involved. This 'relationship' between Blake and Leonardo DiCaprio happened right after Blake split from longtime boyfriend and co-star Penn Badgely. This was just after she met Ryan and they were starring in Green Lantern together. Ryan was still married to Scarlett Johannsson at the time. Blake and Leo were often snapshotted in different countries, laughing together as they traveled to exotic lands. They were first seen together at the Cannes Film Festival. After that, they jetted off to Disneyland, Monte Carlo, Venice, Monaco and more.

It seemed to be just a summer fling for the pair though, and they broke up only a couple of months after it began. We all know what Leo has been up to since, finally winning a well deserved Oscar, dating an assortment of models and taking a bit of a break from acting. It looks like he's back, however, because he has four upcoming films in pre-production according to IMDb. We know we're excited! In his romantic life, Leo is currently being linked to 20-year-old model Camila Morrone.

Ryan Reynolds Was The Chosen One

The last of Blake's boyfriends. Her husband (and soulmate) Ryan Reynolds. We now should all know the story of how they met and fell in love, but most of us still enjoy hearing about their fairytale romance! Ryan Reynolds is a Canadian actor, producer, and screenwriter. If you don't know Ryan (we don't understand how you wouldn't) he plays Deadpool in the 2016 film and Deadpool 2 which comes out soon. A lot of people say that Ryan was born to play the also Canadian born hero, and we don't disagree. While filming the second installation of the Marvel film franchise, Blake and Ryan were snapshotted loved up on set, and yes, Ryan was in the DP suit at the time.

Ryan started his career with a few small roles here and there, but his true start was his leading role on the sitcom Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place. His other film roles include Blade: Trinity, The Amityville Horror remake, The Proposal, Buried and more movies that you've definitely seen. Romantically Ryan was dating Canadian singer Alanis Morissette from 2002-2007. From 2008-2010 Ryan was married to actress Scarlett Johansson. And we know the history from there, long live Blake and Ryan.

The First Pregnancy Announcement

The most exciting news that can happen after a marriage, happened for Blake and Ryan in 2014. They announced to the world that they were expecting their first child together. A few red carpet appearances later (Blake looked so amazing even fully pregnant), baby James was born. Being private people since their relationship started, including the secret wedding ceremony that we hardly have any photos of today, Ryan and Blake kept their daughter James a secret from the world. That was until they revealed both of their daughters to the world when Ryan got his star on Hollywood's walk of fame in 2016, as shows the picture of Ryan and James above.

James was only 2 when her dad got his star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame, but that didn't stop her from stealing the spotlight. Little cutie James wasn't shy of cameras or the people, she looked like she was having the time of her life at the unveiling. We haven't seen James or her baby sister since, as Ryan and Blake have managed to keep their girls' lives private once again. We do know, however, that baby James was the spitting image of her mom when Blake was little. We hope to see the adorable family again soon because those curls are just too cute!

In an interview she did with Vogue back in 2014, Blake talked about how Ryan isn't just her husband, he is truly her partner in everything in life. "He’s a part of it [Blake's website Preserve] because everything we do in life we do together. If I’m working on a movie, he helps me with my character; I do the same with him. Picking out a coffee table. What we’re going to eat. He’s a beautiful writer—he’s written a lot of stuff for us. And he’s got a great barometer and he knows me, so he will tell me if it’s not as good as it can be.”

Tears, guys. We literally have tears. Keep the tissues coming people, because there are more sweet sentiments Blake said about her dream marriage. "He’s going to be a great father and leader and patriarch—he’s so meant to be all of those things. The fact that he lived so much before we got together, he’s the exact realized person that he should be. And so I get to share my life with the person he’s become, and we get to grow from there.” Can someone please get the Reynolds' their own TV series? We're ready to binge.

The Way Ryan Looks At Her

If there's one thing we could go on about forever, it's the way Ryan looks at Blake. At every event they attend, in basically every photo, Ryan looks at Blake like he's the most wonderful thing in the world. She is so we totally get it. It melts our hearts and makes a lot of us smack our partners and complain because they don't look at us like that. We can't imagine a more perfectly matched pair than Blake and Ryan, and may they stay together forever and keep upping relationship standards for the rest of us.

Ryan has often said in interviews that he has the 'natural resting face of a man dying', after that photo came out of him and Blake sitting next to Tom Hiddleston and Taylor Swift (remember that strange time?), and Ryan looked like he wanted to die. Well, he never looks like that when he's in the company of his beautiful wife Blake. This list is about all the reason's that prove Ryan was best matched with Blake, and why he's perfect for her. While we agree that they are perfect (obviously), it's important to remember that perfect is different for everyone, and you shouldn't always compare yourself or your relationship to other people and their relationships!

The Second Pregnancy Announcement

Here was the next most exciting thing to happen since baby James was born - a SECOND Lively-Reynolds child was on the way! Blake's second pregnancy was announced in April 2016, and then five months later in September, the world welcomes their second baby girl, Ines Reynolds. It was so exciting because we already knew how funny Ryan's tweets were with one daughter, we were excited to see what he could come up with for two. Of course just two months later the world was introduced to baby Ines at Ryan's Hollywood Star unveiling. Since then we've only had glimpses of the youngest Reynolds, but what we do know is she's cute as a button.

Our most recent picture of Ines was thanks to actress, mom, and Ryan's The Hitman's Bodyguard co-star Salma Hayek. Salma posted a photo of her holding baby Ines while stirring a pot (literally. She wasn't causing trouble) while Ryan stood in the background and seemed to be clapping. We can't see her face in the photo but we can see her adorable locks, and it looks like she's going to be curly, just like her big sister James, and her mom! Her hair does look a little darker than James' though, so we have a feeling baby Ines might take after her dad.

The Sweet Wedding Dress Story

Since we don't actually have any pictures of Blake and Ryan's wedding or Blake's wedding dress, we had to make do with this photo of them looking like they could be coming from a wedding. Blake and Ryan's wedding ceremony was sudden, surprising and secret. The two just knew it was meant to be and decided to tie the knot only a year after they started dating. Their private ceremony was held in Charleston, South Carolina. According to Blake, Martha Stewart basically organized it - how cool. The sweetest thing though is Blake's recollection to Vogue, of how Ryan turned disaster into a beautiful memory.

"I get really frustrated when something goes wrong. For example, my wedding dress. Florence Welch was singing at the reception, and they brought out these sparklers, and I’m watching her sing. I look down and my wedding dress has a big burn mark from one of the sparklers. Right on the front! And it was just so heartbreaking to me. And later, my dress was hanging up and Ryan said, ‘Isn’t that beautiful?’ I said, ‘What?’ And he pointed to the burn. My heart just stopped, because it was such a sensitive little subject. And he said, ‘You’ll always remember that moment with Florence singing and the sparklers. You have that forever, right there, preserved.’ Now that’s my favorite part of the dress." Oh god, our hearts.

Blake's Birthday Post To Ryan

As we learned last year, Blake and Ryan have a lot of fun with birthdays. For those of you who aren't aware, Blake's birthday was in August. For her birthday Ryan jokingly posted a photo of them together but cropped so the photo was 90% him and only the side of Blake's face. He captioned the picture "Happy Birthday to my amazing wife." As if that wasn't already funny enough, in October for Ryan's birthday, Blake posted a photo of Ryan with Ryan Gosling (the two get mixed up a lot) with her Ryan cropped out of 90% of it. She captioned hers "Happy Birthday, baby." These two seriously kill us.

The year before it was a different tune. In 2016 Ryan turned 40, and Blake posted a photo above to her Instagram to commemorate the moment. It was very sweet as the restaurant they went to holds a very special meaning to Ryan and Blake. "@oya we fell in love at your restaurant in Boston. We stay in love at your restaurant in NY. Thank you for the BEST food and memories! You are our FAVORITE!! Another happy birthday with @vancityreynolds. Hey, Reynolds, I like you a whole lot. Just sayin’".

Their Met Gala Appearance

If there has ever been a better use of the term iconic, we don't believe you because this is it. We all are well aware that Blake is probably the Queen of the Met Gala. Every single time she goes she blows everyone out of the water with whatever amazing dress she's wearing. In 2014 (that was 4 years ago and we're still talking about it!) she and Ryan had the best appearance of any couple at the Met Gala, ever. That's a bold statement and we're sticking to it. Blake's custom blush Gucci Premiere gown (pictured above), along with her classic side-swept hairstyle, absolutely stunned everyone. Including her husband because Ryan couldn't keep his hands off of her.

At 2017's Met Gala the couple wowed crowds, and the entire internet, once again. Blake was wearing a beautiful gold and blue Atelier Versace gown stole the show. As much as we love seeing the couple walk the carpet together, Blake attends the Met Gala by herself sometimes. She looks just as good, if not better. Since this year's Gala just went past you'll no doubt have knowledge of Blake's beautiful Versace gown, which took over 600 hours to make by hand. It was absolutely stunning and of course, Blake looked amazing wearing it. She even got Christian Loubiton himself to personally custom design her heels for her. If there was ever a life goal, that was ours.

Their First Date Story

To describe our feelings after hearing about Blake and Ryan's first date in one word, we would say - magical. That's how we describe literally every aspect of Blake and Ryan's relationship. If you didn't believe in fate before you definitely should now because that's how Blake and Ryan's relationship started. A lot of us look back at Green Lantern and agree it was terrible, but, did you think about why it was made? To bring Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively together, of course! After making the film and breaking off their previous relationships, Ryan and Blake had the best first date of all time.

Ryan told People! and EW the story of he and Blake's first date, and it was actually a double date. "About a year after Green Lantern had come and gone and we were both single we went on a double date – she was on a date with another guy and I was on a date with another girl – and it was like the most awkward date for the respective parties because we were just like fireworks coming across." While we do feel kind of bad for the other two, that feeling is just overwhelmed by how cute Ryan and Blake are.

The Way They Talk About Each Other

We have probably covered this topic a lot, but it's worth it. This article has the words 'Blake' and 'Ryan' more times than we can count, but that's what you clicked on this article for, right? If there's just one aspect of their relationship that we have to choose as our favorite, it definitely has to be the way they're so open and honest about their feelings. If you Google the words 'Blake and Ryan interview', all these different articles come up about Blake or Ryan talking sweetly about each other to media outlets. Aw. Ryan himself admits that he's a big softie, and Blake knows it. As we mentioned before, Blake talked about Ryan to Vogue a couple years ago and often states how they make each other better. When they're not sassing each other out on social media, they're gushing about each other to reporters.

At the Deadpool 2 premiere last night (where Blake wore Deadpool colors, of course), Ryan joked that he likes being known as Mr. Lively. Ryan also explained in a recent interview that even though he's a big Hollywood actor, who plays the outgoing, loud character of Wade Wilson (AKA Deadpool), Ryan himself gets very bad anxiety. Turning a dark moment light, as always, Ryan sweetly turned positive and explained that his wife Blake keeps him sane.

They're Best Friends

This one seems to be something that a lot of happy couples mention, so take note because being best friends with your romantic partner might just be the key to a successful and long-lasting relationship. We all know that Blake and Ryan are basically one person, they spend all their time together and Blake admits that he's her best friend in the entire world. In an interview from 2014 with Marie Claire, Blake told them what relationship goals really are. "We've never gone a week without seeing each other. There's no major decision that I make without him. The best part is when we turn off our phones and just talk and hang out. He's my best, best friend. What do you do with your best friend? You do nothing."

That is so true... the best activity to do with your best friend is nothing. It's so relaxing. Ryan, a person who always gets excited to gush over Blake in every interview he does (#mood), also told --- about her being his best friend. At the Deadpool 2 premiere, Ryan made us cry with his words. "She’s immeasurably made my life better. She’s my best friend. I absolutely love and respect her. She’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me." We don't have any words left to describe how perfect they are.

They're Always With Their Kids

In the world of Hollywood, it's tough to spend time with your kids because of the hectic schedules of actors. It's even tougher when you have kids with another actor. Most of the time you'll see Hollywood babies being raised by their nannies. Thanks to Ryan and Blake being such cool people/parents, this is not the case for James and Ines Reynolds. In an interview with People, Blake explained that she and Ryan will never work at the same time so that one of them is always home with the girls. Of course, they have date nights and functions, but even then they always turn to one of their parents to babysit. No nannies in the Lively-Reynolds household!

In the interview with People Blake states "My husband and I don’t work at the same time, so we all go together as a family, If we’re away as a family, it’s never more than for a day. We stay together. We're here as a fami­ly, then we'll pack up, and I'll go do a couple movies." We love their dynamic, and we can imagine how much fun that would be. What a life to lead. Ryan and Blake seem like the coolest parents ever, and we personally can't wait to see them have even more babies!

Their Funny Tweets

We all know how funny Ryan is on Twitter, and in general life. His many tweets about his daughters have us laughing and wishing that we could join the family. His tweets about Blake are pretty hilarious too. In 2016 Ryan posted a tweet for Blake's birthday "Just want to wish Billy Ray Cyrus the most special, magical birthday ever. I love you with all my heart. Also, Happy Birthday to my wife." And we all know the story of him cropping her out, and her getting him back by posting a cropped picture of him and fellow Canadian actor Ryan Gosling for his birthday.

There was also the time that Ryan joked about his and Blake's first date, using a clip from her shark attack movie The Shallows and tweeting "Actual footage from the first date with my wife. Tried to surprise her and totally forgot I was a f***ing shark.". Blake gets him back just as well with a few Instagram posts that made fans laugh, and continue to drool over the pair. At Christmas last year Blake posted a photo of badly frosted cookies and captioned it "@vancityreynolds made some Christmas cookies... 😳

...He’s verrry handsome though." We love these two, and of course, we're looking forward to seeing what they have in store for their birthday's this year.

Their Red Carpet Looks

As we mentioned earlier when we discussed the best Met Gala moments, Blake and Ryan are one of the most fashionable couples of all time. Blake is a fashionista and loves to share all the details of her outfits on her Instagram, which we love reading (and pretending we could ever afford her amazing taste in fashion). After playing Serena Van Der Woodsen on Gossip Girl and wearing all those amazing outfits, we understand how she would get the fashion bug. Ryan, while not being a connoisseur of fashion, always looks good and definitely knows how to rock a suit. And literally anything else he wears, ever.

We honestly, wholeheartedly believe that these two could literally wear paper bags and look good. Blake's famous blonde locks have been popular since her GG days, with her effortless natural waves making everyone jealous. They're always dressed up, and of course, matching, whenever they go to big events. And being two of the most beautiful humans on Earth as they are, they generally steal the show wherever they go. Even when they're just walking through an airport with their kids, these model tall and model good looking pair manage to be on a level of their own. God, we love them.

Ryan's Humans Of New York Post

Humans of New York (their Instagram) is a well-known photoblog where a photographer goes around the city of New York and asks random citizens about themselves. Their photos go up on the Instagram page and the caption is their story. Sometimes its heartwarming things, and sometimes the posts leave us in tears and make us really think about our lives. It's a beautiful read and we recommend it to you.

At the 2017 Met Gala (we just can't escape this subject can we!) the HONY team caught up with Blake and Ryan and took this adorable photo depicted above. Ryan was the one to give a small interview for the post, and here's the beautiful thing he said about his wife Blake. “She always responds with empathy. She meets anger with empathy. She meets hate with empathy. She’ll take the time to imagine what happened to a person when they were five or six years old. And she’s made me a more empathetic person. I had a very fractured relationship with my father. Before he died, she made me remember things I didn’t want to remember. She made me remember the good times.” This man really has a way with words.

The Way She Looks At Him

Of course, because Blake is like the sun, beautifully blinding and impossible not to look at, Ryan is often (nearly every time they're seen together) snapshotted staring at her with intense love. We mentioned it earlier in this article in fact. What is less talked about, and often less snapshotted because Blake knows her angles and likes to work the camera, is how she looks at him. Blake looks right back at Ryan with that intense love in her eyes, and we can feel the chemistry through our screens. It's a beautiful fairytale romance and we love whenever they have an event together because we're always excited to see these two.

Out of her four-lifetime boyfriends, Ryan is the only one she looks at in this way, and if that's not proof that these two are soulmates, we don't know what is! Probably the 7-year relationship, marriage, and two beautiful daughters. But still. Watching them on a red carpet is like being in a movie when something intense happens, and everything in the background slows down. If we can feel that from here, we can't imagine what it must be like for them when they look into each other's eyes. Wow.

When They Get Real About Life

Side note before we get started: Blake and Ryan's 'getting real about life' is still our version of the perfect relationship. So if you got all the way down here to find any flaws, you're out of luck because they're still perfect. Okay, let's start. First of all, when Blake and Ryan fight, they resolve it with each other instead of asking their best friends - because they're each other's best friend. In an issue of Glamour Blake described how they resolve issues."In other relationships, if something came up, I would call my girlfriends or my sister, and say, 'Hey, this is what he did -- what should I do?'. Where with him, we were friends for two years before we were ever dating. And I treat him like my girlfriend. I’m like, 'Hey, this happened. It upset me. This is how I feel. What do I do?' And he does the same for me. He treats me like his best buddy."

She also talked about how she gets defensive over her relationship with Ryan, as she believes people will roll their eyes if she talks about her perfect marriage (Blake if you're reading this, we love it. Shove your marriage down our throats, please). "I said, 'Most of the time,' because if I say, 'I'm so in love with him all the time,' then you get that eye-rolling, 'Oh, her life is so great, she's so perfect' So it's, like, my defense mechanism." She told Glamour. We've convinced ourselves fairy tales don't exists, but Blake and Ryan are here to prove they really do.
