If you were around in the 90s, you're likely remembering Walkmans, neon eyeshadow, and desperate (but failed) attempts to be cool. As 90s fashion and the sitcom Friends make their giant comeback, we're re-discovering the decade all over again. The Spice Girls were the only thing worth talking about, jeans we thought we'd never see again are being worn by every Kardashian around, and yes, that era had its own celebs. Some crashed and burned, others completely re-invented themselves, and a few are looking better now than they did then.

As Jennifer Aniston proves that approaching 50 means nothing in Hollywood, the focus on 90s stars is bigger than ever. If you thought celebs rolling in cash was a new concept, think again. Staggering salaries and endorsement deals were alive and well (even 20 years ago). As celeb royalty Kendall Jenner states that 90s icon Cindy Crawford is her idol, it's time we took a walk down memory lane. The Big Bang Theory's Mayim Bialik has been around longer than you think and even Hollywood heavyweight Leonardo DiCaprio has the 90s to thank for his fame and fortune. You'll likely recognize a lot of the names on this list, because guess what? The 90s were huge. Here are its highest earners, plus what they're up to now.

Gwen Stefani Is Still In The Music Industry 20 Years Later

Despite being 48, Gwen Stefani still makes headlines (or rather, her ripped abs do). A punk-meets-doll image made her stand out from the crowd during the 90s in her band No Doubt, but she used those lucrative roots to form a solo highway. Given her sales from sell-out albums, tours, and hit tracks like "Rich Girl" and "L.A.M.B," we're not surprised she seized the opportunity to venture into fashion. Her L.A.M.B clothing line was a hit, and it's not like she didn't make some ace profits on the side as the face of cosmetics giant L'Oréal. Music stars have a reputation for being wild, but Gwen has proven she's a great role model and she's a mom of three. She embraces her health and fitness and is super charitable. Gwen may have started in the 90s, but she's still going full-steam, 20 years later.

Sarah Michelle Gellar Is No Longer Being Cast In Hollywood

Yes, Buffy from Buffy The Vampire Slayer has a real name. Sarah Michelle Gellar spent most of the 90s putting the world right one vampire at a time, although at a reported $350,000 per episode, she was doing it for a price. Despite being cute as a button, this is an actress who knew how to work it, from her dark eyeshadows to her leather outfits. A profitable TV career took her over to the big screen in movies such as Scream 2 and I Know What You Did Last Summer. In 1999, the movie Cruel Intentions really let SMG's creepy side shine, as she played a manipulative socialite. Today, she's happily married to Freddie Prinze Jr. (another 90s star) and they have two kids together. She's less on the radar than she once was, but at 40, Sarah Michelle still looks great. In 2015, she launched a baking company called Foodstirs, but Sarah Michelle will always be best known for her stirring in Cruel Intentions.

Macaulay Culkin Went Through A Lot

Yeah, we're also a bit lost with that pic. Macaulay Culkin is best known for being the cutest kid on the planet in movie franchise, Home Alone. A solid 90s kid, he was cast in a string of movies, largely thanks to his adorable face and cheeky smile. He may have earned millions and dated actress Mila Kunis, but this is a child actor who lost his way. He's battled demons left and right, and that face shows it all. He stated on Larry King Live that he doesn't really like opening up about his personal life. We're not asking any questions here, Macaulay, but we are happy to hear that he recently got some help. We were this close to eating you up with a spoon in the 90s. Do yourself a favor. Scroll back up this list, Macaulay, and pick three 90s stars who made it. If they did, you can, too.

Mayim Bialik Became Even More Famous

Mayim Bialik may be making headlines for her role on the TV show The Big Bang Theory (and her unconventional parenting methods), but she too has the 90s to thank for her stardom. Fans fell for her stylish and cool character in Blossom, which aired from 1990-1995. Now starring as BBT's Amy Farrah Fowler, her mom wardrobe may be low-brow, but her earnings are sky high. Mayim also actually has a PhD in neuroscience and this smart lady got into both Harvard and Yale universities. For playing BBT's awkward nerd (and eventual love interest of the smartest person on the planet, Sheldon Cooper), Mayim is reported to earn $100,000 per episode. Not bad going, Mayim. For those of you wondering about her first name, it's neat. Mayim means "water" in Hebrew. See? We can teach you stuff, too!

James Van Der Beek's Career Has Gone Downhill

The face that launched a thousand memes, James Van Der Beek could not be more 90s. This actor is best known for his lead role in the TV show Dawson's Creek, which first aired in 1998. While Katie Holmes (who also starred on the show) moved past her character and went on to greater fame and fortune, James' "Dawson" moniker stuck like glue. Decades later, he's still associated with the role, although he has had a career since. if you remember One Tree Hill, he was in that, plus he's guest starred on hit show, How I Met Your Mother. Overall though, his stardom has gone downhill. He's basically just known for his iconic cry face, although with four kids, we're assuming this 41 year-old dad has his hands full.

Claire Danes Stars On The Critically Acclaimed Show Homeland

For actress, Claire Danes, the 90s was a chance to showcase that angelic face and heart-warming smile. Her big break came in 1994 on the TV show My So Called Life. She may have played a low-key (but very intelligent) teenager, but it was enough for Hollywood to notice her. The role even earned Claire her first Golden Globes Award. Fast-forward a few years, and bam. There she was, cast opposite a young Leonardo DiCaprio in the modernized Shakespeare movie Romeo & Juliet. Most of us now know her for her boss CIA role on the TV sensation Homeland. Claire is as beautiful, sassy and humble on-screen as she is in real life – and yes, she's earning big bucks. She was the highest-paid TV actress in 2014, according to Forbes, and her salary per episode on Homeland is reported to be $450,000. Unlike stereotypical Hollywood relationships, Claire has been married since 2009, plus she's a mom. This 90s star is owning it.

Gwyneth Paltrow Was Ditched By Hollywood And Is Now A Businesswoman

Yeah, she's busy running whatever GOOP is (can someone please tell her no one cares?) Gwyneth Paltrow has been around a while, though. Her movie career started in the 90s, where she was already co-starring alongside the likes of Matt Damon and Brad Pitt. Speaking of, Gwyneth and Brad were also an item before Brad's relationships and marriages to Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie. Gwyneth has built herself an empire alongside her highly paid movie appearances in The Talented Mr Ripley and Iron Man franchise. Although the average income of her lifestyle advice brand, GOOP is $100,000 a year, she gets a decent amount of press coverage from it – although not always for the best reasons. She hasn't been too lucky in love, but Gwyneth does have two kids. Those crazy baby names you see everywhere? Yeah, Gwyneth started that. Calling your baby "Apple?" Really?

Tyra Banks Is No Longer Part Of The Modelling Industry

Tyra Banks may not be the most popular model on the planet, but with a net worth of $90 million, she sure is one of the richest. Victoria's Secret angels nowadays include icons like Kendall Jenner and Alessandra Ambrosio. But did you know that Tyra was one of the first? Earning up to $50,000 a day back in the 90s, Tyra took her runway strutting to a mentoring position on reality show, America's Next Top Model. Unfortunately, that gave Tyra the reputation of being a bit of a monster, although with a reported $18 million a year income from it, she's probably not too fussed. The formerly slender model made headlines as pics of her in a swimsuit showcased a curvier-than-usual figure, but Tyra can handle the haters. To be fair though, there's a lot of them. This 90s icon may have walked for designers like Chanel, Calvin Klein, and Victoria's Secret, but this mom of one is no angel.

Tom Cruise Went From A-Lister To Scientologist Loon

Umm, where to even start? Tom Cruise shot to fame in the Mission Impossible movie franchise, although his high-grossing roles span multiple decades. We're looking at a man who can command $25 million for a movie role, but Tom's acting skills barely register on our radar. He's known more for his crazy ways, Scientology beliefs and marriage to actress, Katie Holmes than anything else. Unfortunately, none of those give him a good rep. Jumping up and down on Oprah Winfrey's sofa is all good and well if you're declaring your love for a woman you stay married to, but Tom and Katie's 2006 nuptials ended in 2012. Tom was also married to Nicole Kidman, plus he's dated Penelope Cruz. Tom may be up there with the richest, but he's earmarked himself as Hollywood's biggest loser.

Jennifer Love Hewitt Has Been Forgotten By Hollywood

Sweetheart actress, Jennifer Love Hewitt remains one of the 90s' most iconic faces. Her role in the TV show Party of Five made her a household name, and she went on to star in movie, I Know What You Did Last Summer. Unlike Jennifer Aniston, this is a 90s star whose career has taken a bit of a back seat, although Jennifer Love Hewitt has hardly been unemployed. She's released music and joined the cast of Criminal Minds. Considering she's now 39, the actress and singer has aged pretty well, plus she's got two kids. Not exactly a high-flyer, but we'll still remember her as one of the 90s' biggest faces. Given her bank balance though, Jen is likely to remember the decade for different reasons...

Winona Ryder Revived Her Career With Stranger Things

Winona Ryder may have enjoyed a critically acclaimed acting career, but this legendary 90s star has faded into the background. She starred alongside Angelina Jolie in 1999 movie, Girl Interrupted and Hollywood recognized Winona's talent. She won a Golden Globe Award in 1993, and despite a low-profile comeback, Winona remains known for less savory reasons. The rich and famous love to shop – that's no secret. The Kardashians don't seem to do much else and everyone from Taylor Swift to soon-to-be royal Meghan Markle are clearing out designer stores like there's no tomorrow. Winona made headlines in the 90s and 2001 after less-than-legal shopping experiences, where it appeared the actress was "helping herself" to items. She's since opened up about her anxiety and depression problems, so let's hope she hits 50 without any more trouble. While she had dropped out of the Hollywood scene for a while, she has recently made a comeback with her Netflix show Stranger Things.

Freddie Prinze Jr. Lost His Hollywood Status Completely

Almost as iconic as James Van Der Beek, Freddie Prinze Jr. dominated the 90s with a string of teen blockbusters like She's All That and I Know What You Did Last Summer. Good looks and a million dollar smile made this actor a heartthrob, and they were enough to make Sarah Michelle Gellar fall for him. In one of Hollywood's longest-lasting marriages, the two have been husband and wife since 2002, and they have two kids. Freddie's movies since 2000 have been kinda "meh," although he did make a hilarious appearance on the TV show Friends where he played the world's most gentle male nanny. Now aged 42, Freddie hasn't starred in a movie since 2012, but considering what he earned in earlier years, he's more than set.

Alanis Morissette Is Still Making Music But Is Nowhere Near Her Old Level Of Fame

Angry, opinionated, witty, beautiful, and bursting with talent, Alanis Morissette is still one of the best-selling music artists of the 90s. Her powerful words and distinct voice earned her millions, and her progressive #girlpower views paved the way for women across media. She's sold more than 75 million records and won award after award. Alanis' songs were largely based on love, life and unleashing her inner self. While later albums saw a more toned-down Alanis, she's still making music, and her 2018 album is due soon. Being famous gives you a lot of opportunities, so we've seen Alanis in the HBO series Sex And the City, plus the TV show Curb Your Enthusiasm. She's been married since 2010 and this former stroppy teen is now a proud mom of two. Way to go, Alanis!

Alicia Silverstone Was Once An It Girl But Is Now Forgotten

Alicia Silverstone was one of the 90s' biggest teen idols. An innocent face, long blonde hair and doe-eyed facial expressions made a generation melt, and Alicia raked in big bucks from them. If any movie defines the 90s, it's Clueless. Alicia starred in it, alongside the big-budget 1997 movie Batman & Robin. All grown up and now aged 41, the mom of one is now a vegan and has published two nutrition books. Alicia lives a pretty quiet life in Los Angeles, taking on mainly theater and low-profile movie roles. She may not be the sensation she was once, but that isn't a face we're going to forget.

Will Smith Is Still An A-Lister

Poke fun at Will Smith's 90s roles all you like. This Hollywood megastar has an estimated net worth of $260 million, and a 49, he looks as good as he did at 29. In the 90s, he was best known for his role on the TV show The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air. Now holding the record for acting in the most consecutive $100 million-grossing movies, he can afford a fair few mansions in California's super-elitist zip code. He's starred in Men In Black movie franchise, plus harrowing 2007 movie, I Am Legend. On the fun side, Will is known for his awesome personality and dope rapping skills. He's been married to wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith since 1997 and their two kids are now celebrities in their own right. Now aged 49, Will still looks fab and he's charitable, too. He may have raked in over a quarter of a billion dollars, but he's given a lot away. A great actor, a family guy, and a real looker to boot. Thumbs up for Will Smith.

Jennifer Aniston Is More Famous And Richer Than Ever

Topping every list around (including this one), Jennifer Aniston may be 49, but she's making more headlines now than she did at 29. Girl-next-door looks propelled this starlet to fame in the hit sitcom Friends, where she ended up earning $1 million per episode. Setting the bar for big bucks, her string of rom-com movies have sent her net worth sky-rocketing, and Jen is still one of the highest-paid actresses in Hollywood. Her recent split from Justin Theroux has made her front-page news, although for Jen, this is round two. She was, of course married to actor, Brad Pitt back in the day – before Angelina Jolie swooped in. She's the face of Smartwater, skincare brand, Aveeno, plus Emirates Airlines (which is reported to have netted her a sweet $5 million). She looks amazing. Plus, she's single right now. Anyone?

Victoria Beckham Is A Fashion Mogul

If anyone's living proof that you can shed your former trashy image, it's fashionista Victoria Beckham (who's now worth nearly half a billion dollars). This former Spice Girl has completely reinvented herself, and the world of high fashion is taking her seriously. Former years as "Posh Spice" saw her in dreadful outfits, a metric ton of spray tan and a less-than-polished image. It was enough to reel in soccer player husband, David Beckham though, and together they have four kids. This 43-year-old now runs a fashion empire. Her clothes have been worn by soon-to-be-royal Meghan Markle, plus a string of celebs including Eva Longoria, Gigi Hadid, and the Kardashians. She's also earned millions from her business ventures, guest TV appearances, and royalties from The Spice Girls. Victoria is A-list classy and for a mom of four, we're still wondering how she manages to look so impeccable in those teetering heels.

Leonardo DiCaprio Is One Of The Best Actors Working Today

Walking around with a $29 million paycheck is pretty incredible. Hollywood heavyweight, Leonardo DiCaprio may be dominating the silver screen's highest grossing roles, but he too started out in the 90s. Boyish good looks and a capturing gaze are likely part of the reason he was hand-picked by Robert De Niro to star in This Boy's Life, but Leo is best known for his breakthrough roles in movies, Titanic and Romeo & Juliet. He's also won as many awards as, um, ladies he's been linked with. Yes, despite a serious dedication to his career, Leo is known as a bit of a player. He's dated supermodels including Gisele Bundchen and Bar Refaeli, plus he was spotted cozying up to music mogul Rihanna in 2016. His staggering net worth continues to rise as he nails role after role, so if you were thinking 90s celebs were out, think again.

Kate Moss Is Still Stylish But Stays Out Of The Limelight

With 90s fashion solidly back in vogue, you better be paying attention. Fashion trends don't come out of thin air, and supermodel Kate Moss was the poster child for the entire era. She shot to fame in her mid teens, and her unconventional beauty championed a generation of fellow models. She's been the face of brands like Chanel, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, plus endless others, and Kate is now a designer herself. She's had her fair share of scandal, but they didn't seem to damage her profits. She ranked in as the highest paid model of 2012. Considering she was just a regular teen walking around JFK airport (where she was spotted by a top model scout), it's fair to say Kate has done very well for herself. Her party lifestyle isn't quite in keeping with her status as a mom, but at 44, she's still a fashion queen.

Britney Spears Is Still Keeping Her Career Alive

90s pop basically didn't exist before Britney Spears. Hitting us like a bomb with track "...Baby One More Time," Britney went on to become a pop legend. With around $200 million in the bank, she's also pretty rich, thanks to millions of album sales, movie roles, perfume ranges, plus endorsements. Britney may have trailer park origins, but with reported earnings of $58 million in 2012, she is one lucky lady. Britney never quite shed her somewhat trashy image (anyone remember Kevin Federline?), but she's earned her status as an icon. She's also been a judge on the TV show The X Factor. Britney's actual singing abilities aren't considered the greatest, but her image is solid and her empire just keeps growing. Again, she's not the most responsible of moms, but with her earnings, we're hoping she can afford a life coach. Actually, add a stylist to that, too.
