There are various celebrities in Hollywood who don't believe that marriage is a lifetime bond. They either have been married more than once or might be in another relationship while they are currently married. Of course, in terms of children, that is a whole other conversation. Being married or unmarried and choosing to have children doesn't matter anymore. Sometimes people just don't believe in marriage but still want to have children, and that is perfectly okay. As long as people are committed, if they choose to be in a serious relationship, that is all that really matters in the end.

We have studied interviews of twenty celebs who have rightfully opened their hearts against monogamous marriage. They have agreed that monogamy is a backdated issue, or that in today's day and age, being monogamous is just unrealistic.

Of course, there are numerous factors as to why people do not agree to stay in long-term relationships. It could be even that they appeal to more than one gender and want to play the field a bit. For the sake of children, however, many celebs do their best to stay in one relationship, but there have been numerous divorces in Hollywood where the parents still raise their children together and in the best way they know how.

Let us look at twenty celebs who do not agree with monogamous relationships!

EMMA THOMPSON

Emma Thompson is an Oscar-winning actress. She was married to Kenneth Branagh and then they drifted apart in 1995. She was then married to actor and producer Greg Wise. The couple has two children, a son, and a daughter. They have adopted an orphan and former child soldier from Rwanda who is sixteen years old. While she was being interviewed over a webchat for a parenting site, she said that the three most important relationships were the ones she had with her husband and children. However, while she starred in the film Love Actually, where the character she plays divorces her husband, she thought that was the right tone. She believes that monogamy is an odd state for women to be in, and that going from relationship to relationship should be as easy as changing t-shirts.

Beyond that, she mentioned that good films where woman are portrayed accurately are a rare occurrence. As she has traveled around the world to speak to different types of women, she feels that the world is yet still not women-friendly at this moment and there are a lot of things that need to be done on many fronts. Looks like Emma is quite like a feminist and that she will support any cause when it comes to women’s empowerment. (Source: Telegraph.co.uk, Zimbio.com)

SCARLETT JOHANSSON

Scarlett Johansson, an actress, and singer have transitioned to adult roles in films like ‘Ghost World’ and ‘Lost in Transition.’ When asked about her idea of marriage she said, that the idea of marriage can be very romantic and it is a beautiful thing. She mentioned in an interview with Vanity Fair that monogamy is not natural. She continued to promote these ideas while she was promoting her film Match Point in 2005. Johansson commented that she will marry somebody only if she feels of having children with him. According to Scarlett, married partners have a lot of responsibility, and she admits she has respect for that, rather than just being in a long-term relationship just to say you are in one. She clearly said that she believes in finding a soulmate and detests an open relationship.

Johansson started to date Frenchman Romain Dauriac and became engaged in September 2012. She gave birth to a daughter Rose Dorothy in 2014. They were separated in 2016 and divorced in 2017. Prior to that, she was with Ryan Reynolds, who she divorced back in 2010. (Source: Vanityfair.com, Zimbio.com)

JADA PINKETT SMITH

She admitted that her children will follow the Hollywood steps opened by her. She mentioned in an interview that like all other couples, they have to see what works best for them. While doing that, the Smith couple are parenting three kids- 19-year-old Jaden, 16-year-old Willow, and 24 years old Trey Smith. Jada is stepmother to Trey who is the son of Will’s previous wife, Sheree Zampino.

When Jaden was asked about her husband in an interview with Huffington Post, that if Will Smith was being unfaithful, she said that tabloids are always incomplete, be it that they don't have the full story or that they can't survive without a scandal. Will was accused of pursuing a relationship with co-star Margot Robbie, who later denied the case. Jada clearly explained that she is not the kind of woman who believes that her man cannot be attracted to another woman. She explains that if her man is attracted to another woman that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t love you. Looks like Jada is quite open-minded in terms of relationships. While he was interviewed by Mr. Porter, he said that he does not believe that being unfaithful is wrong. Ethan even mentioned that the human race is never monogamous. He said that his relationship with his present wife is quite thrilling and he is committed to that. Hawk believes that a relationship has to be more than just being faithful to each other and that it is not the most important thing.

Well, celebrities can give various excuses when a relationship is broken, but a statement like humans are not monogamous could be a shocking one especially to the fans. Of course, a celebrity has a bit of responsibility towards the society, and that’s why they are expected to have a fairy tale love story with only a single hero and heroine. Tilda is living with her lover who is twenty years younger to her. But that really hasn’t been a negative experience on their bonding so far. She met Sandro Kopp while she was shooting for the Chronicles of Narnia in 2004. John is the father of Tilda’s twins. In concerns of his living arrangements, though he lives in the house, at the start it tended to be only when she had to be away for work. That's when he would step up. Now Sandro moved into their house and is sharing the same roof. Out of all these arrangements, Tilda never believes that the arrangement is unconventional.

She further added that we live in a society where people have the same basic instinct like that of animals.

We get that, but we hope she knows that with children come more responsibilities. So even though we all have needs and wants, that changes when you decide to take on a life. She and Benji Madden make a good couple, but there are some questions which are unanswerable. Diaz also dated Jared Leto, Justin Timberlake, and even Alex Rodriguez, the baseball star. When he was questioned on whether or not people could have a happy and successful relationship for over 40 years, he said no. In fact, the actor even mentioned how sometimes, acting out in a marriage is the only way to have a successful marriage.

He seems to believe that the idea of marriage is good in theory, and may have worked in the past when we look at our history. But when people tie the knot, they are essentially closing themselves off from other people which isn't good. Hugh himself was never married but he has been involved in many relationships. He dated Elizabeth Hurley for a long thirteen years and then finally got split in 2013. He has fathered four children; two with Tinglan Hong and another two with Anna Eberstein

Like all celebrities, he has been shamed by the media for one thing or another, but the fact of the matter is, what is most shocking to us about Hugh is how he feels about marriage. (Source: People.com, Zimbio.com)

She even feels that humans are no lesser than animals.

Maybe she feels this way because of the scandal involving her then boyfriend. He strayed in all the wrong ways, leaving her heartbroken.  She told the media that it was a horrible experience for her as, because of it, she will always just be known as yet another Hollywood girlfriend who got their heart shattered. The media will never think of her in another way because of it.

Even celebrities get their heart torn to pieces, as we can clearly see from this event. It must be hard to be a struggling actress, and even have something like this happen to you, but she seems to have persisted. Sienna is a strong woman, and she admits that she has her own ways of handling awkward things in life. (Source: People.com, Zimbio.com)

She openly said that men are her weakness, irrespective of what they look like. She is just having fun flirting with them, but her husband Carl Dean knows that she will always come back home regardless of whatever happens outside their house. Dolly knows that’s she is pretty and flirting is just her habit. Many people would likely not be okay with that particular situation, but that does not seem to be the case for Dolly. Interestingly, her marriage with Chris Martin has ended, which to some was no shock. But she mentioned that divorce doesn’t necessarily mean that their relationship is a failure. She officially declared her engagement with Brad Falchuk in 2018, and they ended up getting married in secret. She said that considering where she is now in her life, she has started to accept the fact that relationships are a lot more complex than people realize. She further added that she never minds being insecure with a person, because if they can't accept that, they can't accept you.

She has been rumored to date a lot of people, and she has come out a few times to admit some of these relationships, but regardless of the fact, it does not change how she truly feels about monogamy. It is very possible that she might stay alone forever, not because no one will love her, but because she chooses to be that way. Or maybe she just greatly enjoys playing the field. She’s young and pretty. This might be the right time that she will want to interact with multiple men and women. It is her life, and no one, not even Hollywood can tell her how to live it. She says that if somebody tells her that she is what completes him, it is a sign for her to run. Goldberg says that men love her, but she was never meant for a relationship. According to her observation, although women have traveled the tough way of 100 years to attaining independence and empowerment, they depend on man’s love for security. If she chooses to remain outside a man’s love or monogamous relation, then it remains like a relative anathema.

When you are fond of talented people and want to have a relationship with all of them, then you will definitely not be a great fan of monogamy.
