20 Celebs Who Are Already Ruining Their Reputations In 2018

We are just over two months into 2018 and already, the amount of celebrity scandals that have occurred is unbelievable and without a doubt, reputations have already been ruined. With the rise of the #metoo movement, it seems that every day, another woman comes forward about a powerful man in the entertainment industry who has been inappropriate, if not abusive, toward her.

Kylie Jenner shocked the world when she announced that she had given birth to a baby girl, after hiding her pregnancy for the whole nine months. But now that she is back on social media, the hate is stronger than ever, and she may have already ruined her reputation as a mother. The finale of The Bachelor with Arie Luyendyk Jr. recently premiered and had fans furious at the star for proposing to one woman, only to dump her on national television and propose to the runner-up within a few days.

And who could forget about Sex and the City star Kim Cattrall called out Sarah Jessica Parker for being a "mean girl," saying that she was not her "friend" or her "family" on Instagram after SJP offered her condolences when Kim's brother died? Many believe that Cattrall finally exposed her former co-star for being a bully. Without further ado, here are 20 celebrities who are already ruining their reputation in 2018.

via: RTE

In the mid-nineties to early 2000's, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall starred on the popular series, Sex and the City, together. One would think that the women had formed a friendship since they had worked together for all of those years. It turns out, that is not the case.

In February, after Kim Cattrall's brother tragically passed away, SJP sent her condolences to her former co-star. However, this was apparently the last thing that Cattrall wanted, as she posted an Instagram photo later saying, "I don't need your love or support at this tragic time." She also said in the caption that she was "not [her] friend" or "[her] family." Cattrall accused SJP of being a "mean girl" on the set of their show and that the other three women formed a "clique" and she was "left out in the cold." The fight has Sex and the City fans split— some are siding with Cattrall and have criticized SJP, while others think that she is being dramatic.

Aziz Ansari has always been known as a goofy comedian who seems like a nice guy. He made his way into our hearts starring on Parks and Recreation. His Netflix series, Master Of Nonewas a huge success and for a while, he was on the rise to ultra-stardom. However, in January, a 23-year-old photographer came forward in the media, alleging that Ansari had been overly coercive with her after a date when the two had gone back to his apartment.

Ansari admitted that he had received a text from the woman the day after they went out, saying that she had felt uncomfortable. Despite this, Aziz has said that he supports the "movement that is happening in our culture" because it is "necessary and long overdue." The comedian's reputation still took a huge hit.

18 Kylie Jenner

via: Instagram/Page Six

Kylie Jenner is used to media scrutiny, but the backlash has hit an all-time high in 2018.  For starters, her fans had been theorizing that the 20-year-old reality star had been hiding a pregnancy, which they were not happy about, considering they are used to her sharing every aspect of her life. On Super Bowl Sunday, Kylie dropped a bomb on everyone, admitting that she had, in fact, been pregnant with her boyfriend, Travis Scott's, baby and that she had given birth to a girl named Stormi.

The real scrutiny began after Kylie began sharing photos of her new baby on Instagram. People lashed out at her, stating that there was no way she could be changing her daughter's diapers with the claw-like talons she was sporting on her hands. The underage cosmetics mogul was also spotted out in Miami recently, drinking and partying on a boat, which had people wondering... where is her baby?

17 Russell Simmons

For years, Russell Simmons has been known as the music mogul who co-founded the label, Def Jam Records, and Rush Communications but unfortunately, as of 2018, he is known for something else. A total of 15 women have spoken out against the music producer, saying that he had abused them or assaulted them in inappropriate ways.

Simmons allegedly used his power to take advantage of young women who were trying to make it in the industry. He has vehemently denied all of the accusations, saying that he has "already apologized for my instances of thoughtlessness in my consensual relations." However, with over ten women accusing him, it's hard to believe that there is any truth to his refute.

16 James Franco

via: Vanity Fair

In January, an American actress and author named Ally Sheedy called James Franco out for attending the 2018 Golden Globes and hinted that he was the reason why she left the entertainment industry on Twitter. She has since deleted the tweets but some other women have also gone on to accuse him of inappropriate misconduct.

Franco's attorney has denied all of the claims and the movie star later sat down for an interview with Stephen Colbert, where he said that what he "heard on Twitter" was "not accurate" and that he was completely supportive of "people coming out and being able to  have a voice." He added that if he had done "something wrong," he would "fix it."

15 Arie Luyendyk Jr.

Arie Luyendyk Jr. had his heart broken on The Bachelorette years ago but this year, he was given another chance at love on The Bachelor. After narrowing his choices down to two women in the final week, Arie decided to get down on one knee and propose to Becca. However, the fairytale ending did not last and ABC cameras were there to catch the moment when he dumped her and told her that he wanted to be with Lauren, who was the runner-up.

Two days after he broke off that engagement, he headed down to Virginia Beach to beg for Lauren's forgiveness. She happily took him back, saying that she had hoped he would change his mind and realized he had made a mistake. Although, he is now getting a lot of criticism from people on the internet, saying that he should have never proposed to Becca in the first place and that he was not honest with her about his feelings. On the bright side, Becca has been named the next Bachelorette, so at least she will have another shot at love as well.

14 Kim Kardashian

via: Vogue

Kim Kardashian is certainly not new to controversy or scrutiny from the media. In January, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star was slammed by the press once again. This time, it was for cultural appropriation. The mother-of-three wore her hair in what she described as, "Bo Derek braids," but what others would call cornrows, which is traditionally an African American hairstyle.

People were mad at the fact that Kim credited the actress Bo Derek, when in fact, this hairstyle has been around for much longer than when she sported the look in her 1979 flick. Specifically, the braids impersonated Fulani braids, which is a style that can be traced back to the Fulani ethnic group of West Africa.

Ryan Seacrest is one of the most well-known hosts on television. From hosting American Idol to interview celebs for E! on the red carpet, he has certainly made a name for himself in the entertainment industry. People were shocked when a former E! wardrobe stylist accused him of misconduct in November of 2017 but he denied the allegations and after an investigation, E! claimed to have found "no sufficient evidence to substantiate" the woman's claims.

Then, in February of 2018, the woman, Suzie Hardy, came forward, detailing her experience with Seacrest, which stirred up more controversy. It was reported that at the 2018 Oscar's, many celebrities would not even stop on the red carpet to speak with Ryan or the E! network. With the premiere of American Idol's new season just days away, people are wondering if the show will cut Seacrest. Secrest, out... literally.

12 Charlie Walk

via: Rolling Stone

Up until this year, many people were probably unaware of who Charlie Walk even was. However, when the Republic Records Group president was a judge on P. Diddy's new, singing competition show, The Four, he became well-known. During the season finale of the show, Walk was noticeably missing from the panel of judges. This was due to the fact that a former Sony colleague named Tristan Coopersmith accused him of misconduct in an open letter to the public.

She claimed that he had sent her graphic text messages, touched her inappropriately at business events, and made unwelcome advances toward her many times. Although he has denied the allegations, arguing that he had worked with Tristan over 15 years ago and "without incident," he resigned from being a judge on The Four on February 1.

11 Mohamed Hadid

Mohamed Hadid is the father of the supermodels, Gigi and Bella Hadid. He is also the ex-husband of the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, Yolanda Hadid. His current girlfriend, Shiva Safai, starred on the E! reality series, Second Wives Club, recently. From the outside, Mohamed appears to be a loving father and hardworking real estate developer but that may not be the case.

A model named Miranda Vee accused Hadid of assaulting her on a date in a lengthy Instagram post on February 1.  In the same post, she accused Paul Marciano, the co-founder of Guess, of similarly inappropriate behavior, saying that after he was done with her, she was simply passed onto Hadid.

10 Danny Masterson

via: The Daily Beast

Danny Masterson made a name for himself on That '70s Show, alongside Ashton Kutcher. Recently, he worked with his former co-star again on The Ranch. However, his career has taken a turn for the worse after at least five women accused him of misconduct and assault.

The actor has since been fired from the Netflix show, even though he has denied all of the allegations against him. Masterson claimed that "law enforcement investigated these allegations more than 15 years ago and determined them to be without merit." Regardless, most people aren't buying his story and his reputation has suffered immensely.

9 Luann DeLesseps

via: E! Online

Luann De Lesseps has had a rough few months. For starters, her short-lived marriage to Tom D'Agostino ended just as quickly as it began. Not even a month later, it was reported that he was engaged to another woman.

Just before the New Year, The Real Housewives of New York star was shockingly arrested in Palm Beach, Florida for attacking a police officer and threatening to "kill [them] all." She had apparently made her way into the wrong hotel room while she was intoxicated and accompanied by a presumable suiter when police arrived to tell her to get out of the room. Luann, who usually presents herself as a poised Countess, looked extremely worse for wear in the arrest photos. The drama has followed her into 2018 and she spent some time in rehab as well.

8 Jeff Franklin

via: Vulture

Jeff Franklin is the creator of Full House and the recently revamped, Fuller House, which streams on Netflix. In February, Netflix announced that they had fired Franklin after a report in Variety listed detailed complaints from multiple women about his behavior and actions towards them.

The showrunner was also accused of being "verbally abusive to staffers," as well as making vulgar comments about his private life in the writers' room. Franklin posted a photo with some of the cast members, Candance Cameron Bure, Andrea Barber, and Jodie Sweetin on Instagram, saying goodbye to the cast and show's fans but it seems like people were happy to see him go.

7 Heather Locklear

Heather Locklear has always been the beautiful star of romantic comedies but in real life, she has taken on a different role— a criminal. The actress has found herself in quite a bit of trouble with the law after she was arrested at the end of February on suspicion of domestic violence and assaulting a police officer, Captain Dean Cook, of the Thousand Oaks Police Department.

After police were called to her home, she became combative and went after the aforementioned officer. One count of domestic violence is a felony and the three counts of battery of emergency personnel are misdemeanors. The Hollywood starlet was handcuffed and taken to the hospital for evaluation. It's pretty likely we won't be seeing her in any upcoming flicks this year...

6 The Duggar Family

via: People/The Hollywood Gossip

The Duggars reputation was already pretty shot but another scandal has surfaced that has made the religious family look even worse. The Duggar's longtime pastor, Dr. Ronnie Floyd, was recently revealed to have published a book called The Gay Agenda, which criticized gay people and their lifestyle, calling it a "pervasive problem" in society. He said that gay people are causing problems in "homes, churches, and an entire nation."

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar's close relationship with the pastor just further proves that they are not the warm, loving, and accepting family that they pretend to be on television. Their own son was accused of harming his little sisters and straying from his wife using Ashley Madison, a website for people looking to have secret relationships.

5 Paul Marciano

As previously mentioned, a model named Miranda Vee accused Paul Marciano, the co-founder of Guess, of misconduct in February. Although before that, on January 31, 25-year-old model, Kate Upton, publicly accused Marciano of touching her inappropriately and making her feel extremely uncomfortable. The blonde bombshell wrote on Instagram that she was disappointed to see that "such an iconic women's brand" was "still empowering Paul Marciano as their creative director," hashtagging "me too," to represent that she had been a victim as well.

The fashion designer straight-up denied the accusations but Upton has since given a detailed account of her experience, which makes his dismissal all the more unbelievable.  She claimed that while she was working with Guess, he assaulted and harassed her during her first professional modelling campaign at the age of 18.

4 Jax Taylor

via: Celebrity Insider

Jax Taylor, one of the star's of the Bravo reality series, Vanderpump Rules, definitely did not have the best reputation to start out with. He is known for his womanizing ways, lying, stealing, and drinking. However, when he met his current girlfriend, Brittany Cartwright, the viewers believed that he was a changed man. During Season 6 of the show, it was revealed that Jax had, once again, been unfaithful. He was unfaithful and then lied about it but eventually admitted it to his girlfriend.

Although, an episode later, Brittany discovers that he was lying again and that he had been seeing the woman, Faith, more frequently than she had thought. To everyone's surprise, Brittany did not break up with him. Now, rumors are swirling that the couple is not even actually together and are just pretending to be in love at public appearances for the sake of the show. After his latest antics, Jax's reputation isn't likely to bounce back.

3 Philip Berk

via: People
advertising

In February of 2018, The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced that they were investigating claims that the actor, Brenden Fraiser, had made against the former president of the organization, Philip Berk. Fraiser accused Berk of abusing and assaulting him during the summer of 2003, citing that this man was the reason he had stepped away from the entertainment industry.

Berk denied the allegations, saying that his "version is a total fabrication." Fraser said that he remained silent all of these years because he feared his career would suffer and he was embarrassed. Even with the #metoo movement going so strong, hardly any of the victims have been men, so this was a huge step for other men, who may now feel inspired to come forward.

2 Scott Baio

via: AOL

You probably remember Scott Baio from his time starring on Happy Days. The 57-year-old has remained somewhat out if the spotlight until, at the end of January, his former Charles In Charge co-star, Nicole Eggert, accused him of continuously abusing her when she was a minor, from the ages of 14 to 17.

In a Facebook live video, Baio denied the allegations and said that his "reputation was being damaged" by Eggert's claims. Although, he did claim that the two had a consensual relationship when she was at least 18 years old. He even took a stab at the entire #metoo movement, saying that "the real problem with this is people with legitimate claims aren't taken seriously— and that's too bad."

1 Steven Seagal

via: The Guardian
advertising

At the beginning of 2018, on January 12, the Los Angeles Police Department began an investigation into accusations against the actor, Steven Seagal. A woman named Regina Simons, who had been playing an extra in his film, Deadly Ground, back in 2005, claimed that the actor assaulted her while they were on set.

Another woman, a model named Faviola Dadis, also accused Seagal of inappropriately touching her during an audition that she had in a hotel room back in 2002. Several other well-known women like Portia de Rossi, Katherine Heigl, and Julianna Margulies, have accused him of similarly abusive behavior. Most likely, this action actor will have a difficult time finding female actresses that are willing to work with him.
