Having a baby is never easy. Between the stresses of the pregnancy itself to packing on all of those extra pounds, it’s easy to understand why it usually takes a long time before things get back to a semi-normal state. Which is why it’s so amazing when celebrities appear to shed all of their baby weight within weeks of giving birth. For the average person, this transformation seems impossible, and we can’t help but wonder how they lose all that extra weight within such a small amount of time.

Celebrities, of course, have a lot more access to things that help them bounce back after a pregnancy. This includes options like hiring personal trainers and having their diets specifically tailored to meet their weight loss goals. That doesn’t mean losing the weight is easy and doesn’t require a lot of hard work, but it certainly helps when you have a lot of people in your corner.

But what’s even more intriguing is that many celebrities use different means to get their body back in shape after a pregnancy, which proves the point that everyone’s body reacts differently when it comes to losing weight.

For instance, some celebs dive headfirst into a strict diet and intense workout, while others, like Kerry Washington, take a break after the birth and ease back into things. But it all leads to the same result in the end and gets these celebs back to work in record time.

From Hollywood’s biggest stars to the world’s most famous reality TV personalities, here are 20 celeb moms who got to work right after having kids.

Kerry Washington

Having a baby while working on a television show is usually tricky business, but Scandal star Kerry Washington made it look easy. The actress looked stunning after having her first daughter and wasted no time getting back in front of the cameras. In talking about her rapid transformation after the pregnancy, Washington revealed that she did not obsess about getting her old body back.

Instead, she just tried to work hard at being the best version of herself at that particular moment in time. In fact, Washington took time off from working out and did not do anything for six weeks after the birth because she wanted to make sure she was ready before diving back into things. Based on how Washington looked after the birth, her plan clearly worked out.

Alesandra Ambrosio

Alessandra Ambrosio has always enjoyed gorgeous looks and a trim figure, and that didn’t change after having kids. But the model was challenged after giving birth to her first baby. At the time, Ambrosio needed to quickly shed weight to walk the runway for the 2008 Victoria Secret’s Fashion Show. More specifically, she has to lose all of her baby weight within three months of the birth.

To accomplish this, Ambrosio embarked on a rigorous workout plan and started to eat healthier. Although she admitted that her body would never be the same after having kids, she believes that her post-baby body looks better. Part of this is because Ambrosio did not work out before her first two pregnancies, so she now feels like she has more defined shapes than ever before.

Milla Jovovich

Milla Jovovich was so eager about returning to work that she brought her newborn with her on a movie set. While working on Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, the actress brought her second daughter, Dashiel Edan, to work. Jovovich welcomed her daughter in April of 2016 with husband Paul W.S. Anderson and started working on the Resident Evil movie a few months later. For Jovovich, having her daughter on the set made the entire process a memorable experience and made for a fitting end to the franchise.

Niki Taylor

Niki Taylor never expected to get pregnant a second time with husband Burney Lamar. The model went through a pretty harrowing experience during her first pregnancy that left her wondering if she would ever have kids again. But after switching up her diet and getting healthy, Taylor and her husband were surprised when the pregnancy test came back positive.

Although they were thrilled about having a baby, Taylor later admitted that one of the hardest parts about having kids was the pressures of getting back to work. As a model, this means losing all of the baby weight and getting your body back in shape. Fortunately for Taylor, she worked off of her experiences during the first pregnancy and was more prepared after giving birth a second time.

Ciara

You can hardly tell the difference between Ciara’s body before and after giving birth to her baby, Future. The singer looked gorgeous when she stepped out in public for the first time after her pregnancy was over. While fans wondered how she lost all that weight in such a short time, she later revealed that she was around 60 pounds lighter only four months after having her son. Ciara credits working out and dieting for her quick weight loss and she says that she’s 20 pounds lighter after having kids.

Although most people struggle after giving birth, Ciara found it empowering to get back in shape. Based on how she looks post-pregnancy, it’s easy to understand why Ciara was happy about how things turned out.

Mariah Carey

Losing pregnancy weight is hard enough when you have one child, but twins are usually double the trouble. After giving birth to her first set of twins, Monroe and Moroccan, Mariah Carey revealed that she lost around 70 pounds through a strict exercise program. She also switched up her diet to lose even more weight and was back to work in no time. In fact, the singer even became a spokeswoman for the diet she used to lose the weight and believes that changing her eating habits was the most important factor in losing weight after giving birth.

When she opened up about her transformation, Carey later admitted that the majority of the weight she gained was water. After she shed the water weight, the real work began, but with a fantastic diet and workout program, she was able to get it done.

Victoria Beckham

While Frankel didn’t do anything special after giving birth, Victoria Beckham worked like crazy to whip her body back in shape after her fourth pregnancy. The model showed off her incredible post-baby bod during New York Fashion Week less than eight weeks after having baby no. 4. Fans were naturally amazed by the quick turnaround, and Beckham later revealed her secret to shedding so much weight.

The English designer claims that she was able to shed so much weight because he ran up to six times a week after giving birth. She also hired a personal trainer who put her on an intense workout schedule to get her body nice and toned, and that’s after waiting six weeks after the cesarean section to start training.

Bethenny Frankel

Bethenny Frankel’s pregnancy weight loss might be the fastest on this list. Less than a month after giving birth – three weeks to be exact – the Real Housewives of New York star lost the vast majority of her baby weight. Granted, Frankel only gained around 35 pounds at the peak of the pregnancy. But still, losing 29 pounds in three weeks is still impressive, though it did spark some health concerns for the reality star.

In light of all the questions, Frankel later opened up about her rapid weight loss and assured fans that she was eating healthy and exercising light normal. The trick to Frankel’s success is that she didn’t change her diet all that much during the pregnancy, which meant she didn’t have a lot of weight to lose after the pregnancy was over.

Kelly Rowland

We have seen a lot of women on list shed some serious weight after giving birth, but Kelly Rowland’s story might top all of them. The hit singer lost an incredible 70 pounds in only four months after welcoming her son, Titan, into the world. That’s an average of a little over 4 pounds a week. How did she do it? Like many other celebrities on this list, Rowland hired a personal trainer, who put her on an intense workout routine and helped her manage her eating. The diet – which consisted of organic based foods that were free of hormones and antibiotics – and workout program helped Rowland shed the extra pounds and fit back into her skinny jeans just seven weeks after the pregnancy was over.

Jennifer Garner

Jennifer Garner shares three children with her former husband Ben Affleck: Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel. While the two stars adore their kids, they had a visibly rough time after Garner gave birth to her third child. At one point, an exhausted looking Garner was caught running errands with her kids while Affleck took a much needed smoke break. Although Garner looked worn out after the pregnancy, she was more than eager to get her career in Hollywood off and running once again.

A few months after welcoming Samuel, Garner revealed that it was her time to get back in front of the cameras. The actress lined up a few movie projects that summer, and she’s been a working mother ever since. Fortunately for her, she didn’t have any trouble shedding those extra pounds.

Pink

Most of the celebrities on this list lost their baby weight before appearing in public, but not Pink. The singer hit the gym six weeks after having her son, Jameson, in December of 2016, but she hadn’t lost any of her baby weight at the time. Pink shared a pic of her first day back in the gym on Instagram and assured fans that she hadn’t dropped any weight, at least not yet. Pink sounds perfectly fine with the fact that she was still rocking her baby weight, though it didn’t take her long to get back into shape.

This also wasn’t Pink’s first time shedding the baby weight. The pop star shed over 50 pounds after giving birth to her daughter, Willow, way back in 2011. Even still, it’s good to see that not all celebrities are obsessed with maintaining their body image.

Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth Paltrow learned a lot about post-pregnancy struggles after having her first daughter, Apple. After giving welcoming her second baby, Moses, the actress admitted that she wasn’t as stressed about getting her body back into top shape. Although Paltrow wasn’t worried about shedding weight the second time around, she knew that it would take a lot of hard work to get things back to normal.

Fortunately, Paltrow started a strict workout program and was able to lose around 40 pounds. She also revealed that she got a head start on the weight loss by shedding some 20 pounds before she even left the hospital, which surely helped in the motivation department. As far as her diet is concerned, Paltrow has eased up after having kids and tries to keep things as simple as possible.

Teyana Taylor

Teyana Taylor’s weight loss story begins with her giving birth a month early inside her own home. Fortunately, Taylor’s husband and NBA star Iman Shumpert was on hand to assist with the at-home delivery. Only six days after giving birth, Taylor shared a photo of her belly with her followers on Instagram, who couldn’t believe how much weight she’d already lost.

A few months after the surprise birth, Taylor was featured in one of Kanye West’s music videos and looked as fit and trim as ever. Taylor later opened up about how she lost the weight and surprisingly admitted that she isn’t a fan of dieting or working out. Instead, Taylor relies on a steady routine of dancing to get her cardio in and credits her passion for the art in helping her bounce back.

Miranda Kerr

Some celebrities radically change their diet to lose pregnancy weight while others focus on ramping up their workouts. But for Miranda Kerr, the secret to shedding those extra baby pounds is all about yoga. The model revealed that she underwent an intense yoga program after giving birth to get back to work as quickly as possible. Along with yoga, Kerr initiated a strict dieting plan and was back on the runway in no time.

While yoga may seem like an easier route to weight loss than traditional workouts, we’re pretty sure Kerr’s yoga sessions were anything but easy. Fortunately, Kerr didn’t strain herself too much and was able to whip her body back into shape without becoming too overwhelmed. If only it were that easy for the rest of us.

Halle Berry

Halle Berry had one of the quickest turnarounds on this list after welcoming a baby boy into the world in the summer of 2013. Only four months after having her son, Maceo, the Monster’s Ball star showed off her trim body at the Acapulco Film festival. Needless to say, Berry looked as smoking hot as ever at the festival, and you could hardly tell that she had a baby only four months before the event.

Prior to the birth, Berry admitted that she planned on returning to work as quickly as possible and was willing to take the newborn on the road, but only if the job required it. Berry shares one child with ex-husband Gabriel Aubry and another with her current hubby Olivier Martinez.

Jessica Alba

Jessica Alba has had three children with her hubby, Cash Warren: Haven, Honor Marie, and the most recent addition son Hayes. Despite three pregnancies, the actress’s body is still in incredible shape. Alba’s secret to maintaining her fit appearance is continuing exercising even when she’s pregnant. In the lead up to her latest birth, Alba was often spotted hitting the gym for a quick work out and run. Keeping up with her workout schedule helped Alba get back in the saddle as quickly as possible.

In fact, six weeks after giving birth to her third baby, Alba shared a pic on social media of her at the gym with her personal trainer. The actress sounds happy about working up a sweat and starting her journey to get back into shape.

Jessica Simpson

Jessica Simpson spent around two years being pregnant. The actress had two babies pretty much back-to-back, but that didn’t stop her from getting her post-baby body back into shape. When she opened up about her pregnancy experiences, Simpson admitted that she ate whatever she wanted during her first pregnancy. After the birth, Simpson joined Weight Watchers and shed some 50 pounds. The only problem is that she quickly got pregnant again.

Luckily, Simpson learned a lot during the first time and did her best to gain as little weight as possible. This meant maintaining a work out plan throughout the pregnancy and keeping a closer eye on her diet. Although Simpson didn’t reveal how much weight she gained the second time around, she was able to shed the weight faster and get back to work.

Zoe Saldana

Zoe Saldana has been very open about her weight gains and losses throughout her pregnancies. The actress gave birth to twin sons Cy and Bowie, 3, and Zen, 1, and later admitted that shedding the baby weight seemed like an impossible task. But she also assured her social media followers that is important not to give up when it comes to personal health and that she used that as motivation to get back into shape. Following a steady routine of exercise and dieting, Saldana was back to work in no time with a body most of us would die to have.

The actress went to work six months after having her twins and started filming Star Trek Beyond. At the time, Saldana admitted that leaving the little one at home was difficult, but everything returned to normal once the cameras started rolling.

Beyoncé

Losing weight is a struggle for most people, but Beyoncé knows how to shed the pounds in any situation. The music icon had Blue Ivy Carter in 2012 and followed that pregnancy up by having twins, Rumi and Sir, a few years later. Although Beyoncé got back into her usual shape after the pregnancies, she later admitted that shedding the extra pounds wasn’t an easy process.

In an interview for the documentary, Life Is But A Dream, Beyoncé revealed that she underwent a strenuous workout regime and changed her diet to get back into shape. For motivation, Beyoncé admitted that she wanted to prove to women around the world that it is possible to lose weight after having kids.

“I wanted to show that you can have a child and you can work hard, and you can get your body back,” she explained.

Kandi Burruss

Back in January of 2016, Kandi Burruss had her first boy with husband Todd Tucker. A few months later, the Real Housewives of Atlanta star revealed on Instagram that breastfeeding helped her shed a lot of her pregnancy weight. She lost so much weight, in fact, that she weighed less after giving birth than she did before the pregnancy. Talk about a body transformation! Of course, breastfeeding wasn’t the only factor in Burruss’ rapid weight loss. The reality star also used religious fasting to help shed the extra weight and get her body in tip-top shape.

“I give up my things that I really love, so sweets, desserts. I do not eat any desserts in the month of January,” she explained. “And I do not drink anything but water the whole month.
