Some of the characteristics of a very successful man, especially in the past used to be his immense wealth, many children, and a number of women willing and available to meet his every need. This was the case especially among kings, dictators, powerful rulers, and celebrities. However, these days, the wealthiest men seem to be intentional at maintaining lasting relationships with their wives and focussing on bringing up small families while at the same time helping the less fortunate in society.

However, we still have many men like Eddie Murphy, who have been linked to so many women you would wonder where he gets the time and the energy to maintain such a lifestyle. Since 2012, we believe he has been with just one woman, the 38-year-old Australian native called Paige Butcher. In this regard, we congratulate Murphy for appearing to have settled down and focussed on making a quality relationship with a woman, which is a sign of maturity.

At the age of 57, Murphy has nine children, and it goes without saying that a significant amount of money leaves his account every month to pay for child support. Since he's a wealthy man, the money is not an issue; we can only hope he will continue to work towards drawing closer to all his children, regardless of his relationship with their mothers. Here's a list of 15 women who've been linked to Murphy. Some of these were real relationships and others are rumors, which we're pretty sure were more than that, but he and, in some cases, the other women, denied such claims.

Whitney Houston

Whitney Houston had one of the most beautiful singing voices we had ever heard, and the success she gained in her career was largely thanks to her career and in part because she was such a beautiful woman. According to the Guinness World Records, she was the most awarded female acts by 2009 and having sold over 200 million records, she was one of the best-selling musicians of all-time.

Whitney is on this list because several sources claim she dated Eddie Murphy for a brief period between 1982 and 1983. However, the most interesting thing about this relationship is it was so low-profile and drama-free that most people question the existence of the relationship even today. Murphy did confirm in an interview with Extra that they did hang out together.

For sure, these two spent some time together away from the public eye, despite being two of the most famous celebrities at the time. In the '80s, these two were arguably the biggest names in Hollywood, owing to the success their movies, music, and comedy acts were experiencing.

Melanie Brown

If you've been following the events surrounding the divorce battle between Melanie Brown (Mel B) and her ex-husband, Stephen Belafonte, concerning his rights to visiting Mel B's second daughter, Angel, then you probably know something about Angel's biological father. Although Angel has been calling Belafonte 'dad' ever since she learned how to talk, her biological father is Eddy Murphy, and this is the main reason Mel B makes it here. It's a bit of a surprise to find this former spice girl and current successful TV personality on this list.

After what most sources such as the Daily Mail define as a 'brief fling' with Murphy, Mel B got pregnant. Pregnancy is supposed to be one of the most beautiful experiences a woman goes through, but it was a terrible period for Mel since Murphy denied being the father until a paternity test confirmed he actually was. Murphy might have been trying to avoid paying child support, but by the time Angel will reach 18, he will have paid a total of £7million ($9.8 million).

Amber Rose

It's weird how some celebrities will always be on the news for bad things, while others seem as if there's never been any dirt on them. Amber Rose happens to be the celebrities who are on the news for all the wrong reasons, and it's highly likely she doesn’t care what people think because she's very confident and she's been through so much.

Concerning her love life, Rose has been publicly involved with celebrities such as Kanye West, Wiz Khalifa, and more recently, 21 Savage. Although everyone who knows anything about her knows about these high-profile relationships, few people know about her involvement with Eddy Murphy, a very brief relationship which allegedly happened back in 2010.

Sources such as famousfix.com, which talk about the encounter claim that Rose, Murphy, and a few of their friends were hanging out in Murphy's home theatre one day when these two started arguing as couples do. According to Murphy's friend, the two had dated for a while but Murphy got fed up with Rose and sent her away.

Toni Braxton

Have you heard the 1996 song, "Un-Break My Heart," by Toni Braxton from her second studio album Secrets? The chances are, you have. This song was her second song to top the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, and the album won her two Grammy Awards. Braxton has had a rocky singing career, but currently, she's very successful even as a reality show star.

Braxton married Keri Lewis in 2001, but in 2009 they separated and their divorce was settled in 2013. Braxton is on this list because according to the Daily Mail, she briefly dated Eddie Murphy when her marriage with Lewis was already on the rocks back in 2012.

Of course, these two denied the rumors when people asked them whether they were dating; with Braxton's spokesperson commenting about it by saying they were just good friends and fans of each other's work. However, other insider sources claimed their relationship was more serious than most people thought since even their kids had met.

Halle Berry

When you search for the list of all the black women who've won an Academy Award for Best Actress, you will be surprised to find only one name on it, and it's Halle Berry. Berry is an amazing actress, since she's been part of very successful films in the past, and her performance has always been exceptional. Arguably, her breakout role was when she played a character called Angela Lewis in the 1992 comedy film, Boomerang, where she acted alongside Eddie Murphy.

In many cases, co-stars in a film who act as each other's love interests often hook up in real life, which was allegedly the case with Berry and Murphy. On-screen, they were very convincing, and everybody would have loved if their romance spilled over to real-life, but these two never confirmed whether they were in a relationship, but it's evident they became very good friends thereafter. These two posed for beautiful snaps together which we can view on mirror.co.uk, which make us believe they must have been in a relationship for a few months at least.

Melody Thornton

It's hard to miss Melody Thornton since she's a popular TV personality and dancer, but most of all because she used to be one of the members of the very successful girl pop group called The Pussycat Dolls. Although she wasn't the lead vocalist, Melody was the youngest and was the second most prominent vocalist, with one of the things that made her stand out was the incredible melismatic vocal runs she did.

Since she was a prominent musician and Eddie Murphy was coming out of a failed relationship, these two are believed to have hooked up in September 2008. One of the events that contributed to everyone thinking these two were an item, even if just for a brief period, was a private birthday party Melody had organized, and she appeared to be awfully close to Murphy.

There's a way an individual can interact with a close friend and then there's a way the same individual can interact with someone he or she is into; these two were clearly acting like they were into each other.

Tracey E. Edmonds

Tracey E. Edmonds is a businesswoman, TV personality, and producer, who appears to have had one of the most interesting relationships with Eddie Murphy. She's currently very successful in her ventures and has been in a relationship with Deion Sanders since 2012. The name 'Edmonds' comes from her first marriage to Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds.

According to people.com, Tracy and Murphy exchanged vows on January 1, 2008, in a ceremony which was considered a "symbolic union," rather than a marriage. This ceremony was in an Island off Bora Bora, and only 25 guests had been invited to the event.

Apparently, these two started arguing and calling each other names even before the honeymoon started. One of the main reasons they fought so much was Tracey refusing to take up Murphy's name, which she was trying to explain was for the sake of her two children, but Murphy would have none of that. On January 16, barely two weeks and two days after the wedding, these two broke up.

Rocsi Diaz

Did you love watching 106 & Park, a program on BET which was on the air from 2006 to 2012? If you did, then Rocsi Diaz is no stranger to you. This Honduran-born American has also been on Dating Naked and she was the host of the third season after replacing Amy Paffrath.

Rocsi is here because she was in a relationship with Eddie Murphy, with sources claiming they got together somewhere between 2011 and 2012. Regardless of when they got together, whatever they had was over towards the end of 2012.

At the time, Murphy was about 51 years old, while Diaz was just 28, an age difference only other people other than them seemed to care about. During the course of their relationship, we saw them together a lot, with frostsnow.com claiming that Murphy took her to his annual family holiday in Maui, where she even got to meet his kids.

Sheyene Gerardi

When Sheyene Gerardi was a medical student at Universidad Central de Venezuela, she ventured into modeling in order to make some money on the side to provide for her expenses. She was and continues to be, such a beautiful model that she even qualified for the Miss Venezuela Beauty Pageant. In the course of her modeling, a TV producer approached her and helped set up her acting career, and she started acting in a few soap operas.

Since then, she has established a career as a TV host, has released a book, and has received the key to a city located in Barlovento. She operates an online medical consultation platform called Sheyene Gerardi E-health, where patients with rare diseases can find help for free.

Gerardi was diagnosed with Stage IV lymphoma cancer, which was so advanced that doctors had given her not more than three months to live. However, she beat the cancer because the diagnosis was back in 2006 and she's still healthy now. She was in a relationship with Eddie Murphy in 2011 and briefly in 2012.

Atisone Seiuli

Of all the relationships and encounters that Eddie Murphy has had with women so far, he would probably want us to forget about his encounter with Atisone Seiuli more than with anyone else. Seiuli died in 1998, just one year after she was spotted getting into an SUV driven by Murphy. Seiuli, at the time, was a transgender escort and dancer.

What made this encounter such a scandal back in 1997 was the fact that Murphy was a married man, and there were rumors claiming that he was gay and that his wife was just a beard. The New York Daily News wrote that police were out to get Seiuli for violating her probation. So when they saw her get in an SUV in West Hollywood, they stopped it, not knowing they'd find the celebrity driving it.

Murphy, through his publicist, claimed he was simply giving the weary-looking and weeping woman a ride home. After this encounter, Seiuli became so famous and made so much money for telling her story she gave up being an escort and stuck to dancing.

Maya Gilbert

It's hard for a celebrity to like someone without the whole world knowing about it, especially if such a celebrity decides to go out in public with his or her love interest. This was the case when Eddie Murphy and Maya Gilbert went out to watch the Lakers game together back in March of 2010.

Although the night they decided to go watch the game was the first time most people realized these two were dating, it sure wasn’t their first encounter. The level of PDA these two had at the time was equivalent to the kind you would expect from a couple which had been together, especially in private, for at least a few weeks.

At the time, Maya was starring in a TV series on Cinemax from 2008 to 2010. Sources claim that after just two months from the day they were seen at the game, Murphy had already moved on from the relationship, while Maya was still wondering what had happened.

Lara LaRue

Celebrities can surely go out with whomever they want to go out with, and they'll hardly ever take the trouble to try and prove just how great they are since they are indeed celebrities. Celebs Now reported that back in March of 2008, Murphy met Lara LaRue, who is CSI: Miami's star, Eva LaRue's sister, when he was out bowling, and sources claim he was immediately smitten.

LaRue, who was 22 years old at the time, was a sushi waitress, and Murphy is said to have sent her flowers regularly and they even got to the point of discussing how they'd move in together. It would be important to mention that this was the same year he had married Tracey Edmonds and split up with her after just two weeks.

As you would expect, this relationship was over within two months. Many people at the time claimed LaRue was just a rebound, though the relationship must have been fun for both of them while it lasted.

Jasmine Guy

If you watched A Different World, a sitcom which aired from 1987 to 1993 on NBC, then you remember Jasmine Guy in one of her earliest and most epic performances. For her role in the show throughout the four years from 1987 to 1993, she won the NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.

This show was created by Bill Cosby and was a spin-off of his earlier very successful sitcom called The Cosby Show. Jasmine was and continues to be a very successful actress, who continues to appear in films and different TV shows. In 1989, she starred alongside Eddie Murphy in a comedy film called Harlem Nights.

Jasmine makes it here because complex.com reported some rumors that surrounded her involvement with Murphy during the making of the film. At the time, Murphy wasn't yet married, and he had already started to develop a reputation for being a ladies man. This relationship didn't last.

Beverly Johnson

When talking about people who played an active role in redefining what society considered a beautiful woman should look like, Beverly Johnson is a name we can't ignore. Johnson is an actress, singer, entrepreneur, and model who became the first African-American woman to be on the cover of Vogue Magazine back in August 1974 as well as on Elle, the French edition, the following year.

In 2008, The New York Times listed Johnson as one of the most influential people of the 20th century in fashion. In 2012, she starred in her own reality show, Beverly's Full House, which aired on OWN.

In 2015, Johnson appeared on Sway In The Morning, where she talked about her career and promoted her memoir which she called The Face That Changed It All. In her memoir, she talked about her relationship with Bill Cosby, as well as the dates she had with Eddie Murphy and his bodyguards.

Tatiana Thumbtzen

Arguably, Tatiana Thumbtzen became a star when Michael Jackson chose her to perform the role of the woman he was pursuing in his hit song, "The Way You Make Me Feel," which was part of his album, Bad. The filming for the video started in late 1987 to early 1988, and audiences around the world loved both the video and the woman in it.

Michael Jackson later included her in his tour, and in one of the performances, she kissed him while on stage, although some people claim she was specifically asked not to. Although she was later replaced for her actions, she continued to have a friendly relationship with "The King of Pop," and she even attended his final funeral service on September 3, 2009.

Thumbtzen co-authored a book with Tonia Ryan called The Way He Made Me Feel, which revealed Thumbtzen was never in a relationship with Jackson despite lying about it in the media, and that men like Eddy Murphy were after her. When you look at her dating history from various sources online, you'll definitely find Murphy's name there, meaning they at least had an encounter if not a brief relationship.
