You’d think that January Jones would easily become one of the most popular actresses in the entertainment industry, thanks to her memorable role as the icy Betty Draper in the long-running series Mad Men. Unfortunately though, that’s not the case at all. Soon after Mad Men ended its series’ run, January quickly became a thing of the past. Even though she’s tried her hand at several different television projects here and there, people tend to forget about her.

Actually, let us say that again: people tend to forget about January Jones and her career, but not her. That’s because the blonde beauty tends to make headlines about her personal life and her supposed icy reputation, both on and off set. Simply put, there aren’t a lot of people who have nice things to say about her on record. And because she has very few friends in Hollywood, that might be a reason why she’s no longer being cast in projects.

Now, we don’t know what kind of person January Jones is behind closed doors, but the media sure has painted a certain picture of her for us. With that being said, here are 15 reasons why Hollywood just isn’t casting January Jones anymore.

First and foremost, the woman has a very icy reputation in Hollywood. In other words, she doesn’t come across as the nicest or warmest person, to put it simply. As a matter of fact, there are very few people in this world that actually have nice things to say about her.

Even journalists in the media dislike her and have even said so on the record, too.

I mean, what in the world did January Jones do to deserve such an awful reputation for being an ice queen? Brian Moylan of Gawker was not being nice when he wrote, “Despite evidence to the contrary, human ice luge January Jones is still trying to convince us that she is something more than a pretty face. Now she's saying her Mad Men role was created just for her.”

Her Complicated Love Life

January Jones is one actress in Hollywood that most definitely has a complicated love life.

To this day she refuses to reveal the identity of her son’s father. She also hasn’t been in many long term relationships.

And according to sources, the relationships she does involve herself in just so happen to have other people in it, too. January has never, ever made any comments about these so-called messy romances, nor has she denied them. And as a result, she’s been called quite a few names in the book, too, some which are not so nice.

The New York Times wrote, “She has been linked as well with Matthew Vaughn, her X-Men director, who is married to the model Claudia Schiffer, and Noah Miller, the director of her latest film, Sweetwater, a Western. The celebrity press has branded her as a temptress.”

Her Liam Hemsworth Connection

If there is someone you don’t want to mess with, it’s Miley Cyrus. When she’s got something to say, trust us, she’ll say it. Well, reports in the past claim that January might have been the reason why Miley broke up with her long-term boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth. That’s because Liam and January was spotted getting very up close and personal during a few Oscar parties back in the day.

Apparently, January hasn’t denied the rumors to this very day. TMZ reported back in 2013, "The Mad Men star arrived to a flock of photographers at LAX and was immediately hit with the questions everyone wants to know – Why were you and Liam photographed together in the back seat of an SUV at the Oscars?”

Then There Was Bobby Flay

You’d think that after all of the things that were said about January after her Liam scandal, the girl would cool it a little bit. At least, she wouldn’t make certain obvious things obvious. But no, that wasn’t the case at all last year when reports alleged that January was connected to Bobby Flay right before his messy divorce. Bobby’s wife reportedly found out about them being together and immediately pulled the plug on their marriage. Of course, other factors were involved but January’s name was mentioned quite a few times in the gossip headlines, too.

According to the Daily Beast, though, his wife Stephanie March alleged that January Jones and her husband had a relationship. If that weren’t enough, she also alleges that Flay betrayed her with a third woman as well.

Her Rollercoaster Relationship With Ashton Kutcher

One of January Jones’s first major Hollywood relationships was with actor Ashton Kutcher. And unfortunately, she doesn’t have a lot of nice things to say about her ex-boyfriend.

A lot of people think that she often talks about Ashton Kutcher whenever she mentions an ex that wasn’t too supportive of her and her career during her early days in the business.

"The guy I was dating when I first got to L.A. was not supportive of my acting," she said, according to ABC News. "He was like, 'I don't think you're going to be good at this.' [...] He only has nice things to say now. If anything, I should thank him. Because the minute you tell me I can't do something, that's when I'm most motivated."

Her Relationship With Jon Hamm

How can we go over a list of January Jones’ alleged partners and not mention Jon Hamm? That’s right – there are plenty of reports on the internet that claim January and Jon have been an on-again, off-again secret item for years.

Their characters might not have got along on Mad Men, but off screen, it was always a different story between them.

And not just any reality star, one with a reputation, too: Nick Viall.

“They’ve been dating for about two months. She went on The Late Show in mid-November and said Nick had reached out to her and tried to get her to lip-sync battle with him. She declined, but then he asked her out to a drink and she accepted. They’ve been seeing each other since,” the source said, according to Page Six earlier this year. January has even said about Nick, “You don’t know if you like him or if he’s a [jerk], but that’s why I’m attracted to him, maybe.”

The Media Doesn’t Like Her

Is there anyone that is in January’s corner these days? From her co-stars, to other Hollywood celebrities and even the media, it seems like she doesn’t have many friends in the industry. That’s because she supposedly comes off as very cold and unapproachable everywhere she goes. And in Hollywood, that’s a huge blunder, especially when your image is everything. If you are not nice to the media, trust us when we say that the media is not going to be nice to you in return. And they are the ones with the power of the word here.

The New York Times wrote, “In person Ms. Jones did little to counter these impressions. She shook a reporter’s hand wanly. In conversation, she studiously averted her eyes. Nor would she dish about her off-screen romances. ‘I’m not trying to sell myself,’ Ms. Jones said matter-of-factly. ‘I wouldn’t know how.’”

She Also Wants To Be The Bachelorette

Believe it or not, January Jones wants to be a reality television star. It’s hard to believe that someone like January, who was once a part of such an iconic show, would go as far down as a reality dating competition show. But she said it herself.

Apparently, January dreams of being the next Bachelorette. And it’s a serious goal that she’s not kidding about, either.

“I’ve been grooming myself for it,” the actress told James Corden, according to People Magazine. “I asked my publicist. I’ll watch the show, have a couple of glasses of wine, Ben [Higgins] gets kicked off and I’m like, ‘Oh I’m gonna be the next Bachelorette and get that guy.’ And then she says it would ruin my career. I get shot down. But that’s my dream.”

This has got to be the most embarrassing moment in January Jones’ career. According to several different reports, January was caught in an embarrassing moment after partying all night long in Hollywood back in 2010. And yes, there are photos that prove it, too. It was a low point in January’s career, so to speak.

She Was the Least Popular On Mad Men

Yes, Mad Men was once one of the biggest dramas on television. But unfortunately for January, she was apparently the least likeable person and character, but on and off set. Sure, she got a lot of screen time and attention for her beauty, but her personality was anything but pretty. January was supposed to be the star of the show, but turns out she was the least liked of all her female cast mates.

The Cut wrote earlier this year, “Jones was probably the least popular. Elisabeth Moss was, from the beginning, championed as the show’s most serious actress and is now the high queen of prestige TV. Christina Hendricks possessed a beauty so astounding she seemed to rise above the trivialities of celebrity — the whole thing being, it seemed to me at the time, rather beneath her.”

She Always Looks Unhappy

Sure, a lot of people out there suffer from something that is called “RBF” (and if you don’t know what that means, we invite you to look it up on the internet). But when it comes to January, it seems like this is something she constantly suffers from, and in not a good way, too.

Reports even say that January doesn’t know how to have a good time and at Comic Con, out of all places! The actress showed up to the Parq Restaurant & Nightclub with friends and “appeared absolutely miserable,” a spy said, according to Page Six back in 2015. “She was in a really foul mood and sat by herself, chain-smoking an e-cigarette while her friends danced. She was completely disinterested, and no one knew why she was there.”

Even Her Kid Co-Stars Dislike Her

It’s pretty bad when you even have 11-year-olds talking smack about you in the media. And let’s face it, kids tell the truth. They don’t sugarcoat anything, because at their ages, they don’t know how to be politically correct yet. It’s pretty bad when you’ve got kids who are telling the world about how uncool you are behind the scenes. Talk about a burn. According to Café Mom, fellow Mad Men co-star Jared Gilmore, who happened to play January’s son during the last season of Mad Men, didn’t have nice things to say about her. He might be a kid, but he’s not a stupid one, mind you.

He allegedly said, “Be careful around January [Jones]. She's not as approachable as the others. She's really serious about what she does. Everyone else is so nice.”

No one wants to hear that said about them from a kid!

Zach Galifianikis Agrees

Apparently, January Jones isn’t a lot of fun at parties, either. You’d think that she would be able to loosen up among her own people, but not according to actor and comedian Zach Galifianikis. He claims that their introduction was anything but pleasant and an experience that he would like to forget. He even called January out on her iciness.

According to EW, Zach recalled, “I was at a party — I’d never met her — and she was like, ‘Come sit down.’ So I sit at her table and talk for 10 minutes, and she goes, ‘I think it’s time for you to leave now." So I say, ‘January, you are an actress in a show and everybody’s going to forget about you in a few years, so be nice.’”

She’s A One-Trick Pony

According to many of her critics, January Jones can only play one character well, and that’s of a mean, icy, cold and conniving housewife. In other words, she was born to play the role of Betty Draper, and that’s it. She’s a one-trick pony in Hollywood. In a world of versatile unicorns, January is the same character we see over and over again: the blonde with an attitude.

It’s pretty bad when you’re on co-stars even have to defend you in their interviews, right? Well, that’s exactly what John Slattery did a few years back. According to the Hollywood Reporter, he even went as far as to call her a “sweetheart” (say what, now?) and said one of the reasons why people keep their distance from January is because of her “intimidating” character, Betty Draper. Sorry John, we like you, but January’s behavior and attitude speak for itself.
