Finding a name to fit your kid can be one of the hardest things a parent has to do. Nicolas Cage is a prominent name in Hollywood just because his last name can be used in so many memes. So when Nicolas Cage had a son and named him after Superman's real name Kal'el many people weren't surprised. Apparently, Nic Cage is a huge comic book fan and a big enough one to name his son after one of DC's best superheroes.

In an interview with People, Nicolas Cage discussed the process of naming his child Kal'el, "My wife wanted a unique name and originally I thought of the name Kyle and then she said, ‘No, something more unusual but beautiful.’ Then I remembered the old Superman comics and Kal-El was his original name on Krypton. So I wanted a name that stood for something good, was unique and American and that’s all three. I just thought it was a beautiful name and it had kind of a magical ring to it." Many people are pretty receptive to Nic Cage naming his son after Superman because it's unique and beautiful. Plus it stands for something good. The part of it being American is a bit strange as Kal'el is the name given to Superman on Krypton (another planet) and when he came to America he was named Clark Kent.

Jason Lee's Son Is Called Pilot Inspektor

Jason Lee is just the type of celebrity to show up on this list. The smug smile on his face explains why he named his son Pilot Inspektor. However, the story is a bit more deep and meaningful than one might first realize. The star of My Name Is Earl, had an interview with Entertainment Weekly and told them he was naming his next child Pilot Inspektor. When asked why he had a decent reason, one decent enough that his wife even agreed with it.

Jason Lee is a huge fan of the Indie rock band Grandaddy and on their debut album in 2000, the first song on the album inspired Jason Lee's son's name. Here is his statement on the matter: "The opening track, 'He's Simple, He's Dumb, He's the Pilot,' absolutely blew my mind when I first heard it. Gwyneth Paltrow has shared in the same decision as many other celebrities in naming their child after an object. For Gwyneth Paltrow, that object was an apple. This isn't by far the worst name on the list but the name does feel like it's trying too hard to be pretty. Apple Paltrow was Gwyneth Paltrow's first kid and she is now a teenager. Gwyneth doesn't share much about her daughter Apple Paltrow due to her being the child of her ex-husband. Thanks for still hanging out with me, even though you are 14." Overall it seems like Apple Paltrow has a good relationship with her mother despite her naming her Apple. The Friends star Courtney Cox has made her impact on Hollywood but in more ways than one. For one Courtney Cox named her daughter Coco which seems more like a dogs name than a human. Also, her last name is Cox which is a few too many C's for a name. The actress and her daughter Coco Cox have a decent relationship and they even spoke about their relationship in an interview with People. Courtney spoke about some strategies she's tried to use raising her daughter Coco.

David Duchovny is best known for his role in X-Files and has had quite a history with his family. He's had several spouses and different kids with each. Since then Angelina Jolie has opened Cambodia's Maddox Jolie-Pitt Foundation which focuses on helping children with things like education.

Maddox is now 16 years old and has a mouthful of a name. His full name is Maddox Chavin Jolie-Pitt. That is definitely one of the strangest names in celebrity history. Maddox isn't that strange a name but when combined with the mess that is Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's last name and can become a bit of a mouthful. As a stage name, Bono is already pretty strange but he decided to take his strange naming conventions off stage and implement them into his personal life. When one of his daughters was born he decided to name her Memphis Eve Sunny Day Hewson. Memphis Eve is supposed to be her first name, Sunny Day is supposed to be her middle name, and Hewson, of course, is her last name.
