Giving birth can be a scary thing, but for most people, they just accept that it’s all part of the process of having a baby. It’s a difficult thing that women have to go through, but it’s all part of the miracle of life. Many women have their babies naturally or at least with the help of pain medication. While others end up having a C-section due to complications. Either way, both ways usually require some care and recuperation afterward.

Having a baby can be a very messy process, never mind the long and gruelling task of getting a baby out of you. It’s a painful ordeal that many women just don’t want to go through. Most women dread the thought of a C-section because it’s scary and comes with its own dangers. No one wants to do anything that might be unsafe for the mother or the baby.

C-Sections are no small task either. It’s considered to be surgery and there is usually a longer recovery time after a C-section then if you were to have the baby naturally. After it’s all done, your stomach is held together with staples; it’s not much fun.

There are some celebrities out there that automatically opt for the C-section, that they actually have determined they aren’t even going to try to push. They are taking the easy way out, regardless of the risks involved. They schedule their C-section ahead of time and don’t worry about a thing afterward. These are the women that worry about stretching in their special place and think that the C-section is the best answer.

Victoria Beckham Is Considered Too Posh

Gosh, we would never know that she was even pregnant except for that belly. She definitely only gained weight in one area. Beckham has had four children over the years and every single one of them was delivered by C-section. She has stated, though, that all over her C-sections were medically necessary even though she seemed to start the craze of mothers getting C-sections.

Many believe that she was scared of the pain of childbirth and didn’t want to deal with it.

When she was pregnant with her fourth child, the media scrutinized her saying that four C-sections was far too much for her body to handle. She went for it anyway, however. Victoria is quite the wealthy woman and can probably hire the best doctors out there.

Kate Hudson Wanted Eyes Off Her Baby

Kate Hudson’s C-section was no medical emergency. She scheduled the surgery two weeks before her son Ryder was even due.

She seemed freaked out by the possibility that people would watch her giving birth. She also worried that people would take photos of her giving birth as well.

"I was going to get induced because the baby was so big. Then my hips weren't opening and I wasn't dilating. I was in labor. My contractions were two to five minutes apart and I couldn't feel anything. The doctor said I could go home, but it was such a pain in the butt to get to the hospital because we were being stalked by photographers. We went in at midnight and I was like: 'I am not going home. I just don't want to do this again. Let's just have a C-section.' And so, I got drugged up."

Denise Richards Planned Ahead

It’s hard to believe that there was actually a time that Denise Richards, or anyone for that matter, was married to Charlie Sheen. She was expecting her first child at the time and she’s admitted that she also scheduled her C-section.

She reasoned that she wanted to know exactly when her daughter would be born. She scheduled her daughter’s birthday ten days before her due date.

At the time, Charlie Sheen was still working on the TV show Two and a Half Men and the timing would work with the time off that he booked. She told PEOPLE, “It was convenient. We like to plan things.” Funny enough, she went into labor the day before her scheduled C-section, but still opted for a C-section.

Elizabeth Hurley Is Always A Model

It came as a shock when Elizabeth Hurley first announced her pregnancy. She had just gotten out of a long-term relationship with Hugh Grant. The child was fathered by an American millionaire named Stephen Bing who she had an on-again, off-again relationship with.

Bing denied the paternity of the child and it forced Hurley to have a DNA test done to prove her case. In the end, she still had to raise the child on her own because Bing wasn’t interested in being a father.

That was when she made the decision to schedule a C-section instead of giving birth naturally. The procedure for her only took an hour and they made the incision very discreet for the model, making it fall just below her bikini line.

Christina Aguilera Doesn’t Like Surprises

When it came time for Christina Aguilera to have a child, she wasn’t taking any chances. She wanted to know exactly what was going on. She stated that she wasn’t someone that wanted any surprises. She also admitted to being afraid of tearing. It’s certainly something that can happen during labor and she wanted no part of it. She scheduled the C-section for the 37th week of her pregnancy.

“I didn't want any surprises.

Honestly, I didn't want any tearing. I had heard horror stories of women going in and having to have an emergency C-section [anyway]. The hardest part was deciding on his birthday. I wanted to leave it up to fate, but at the same time, I was ready to be done early!"

Claudia Schiffer Had An Excuse

Claudia Schiffer was one of the biggest supermodels of her time. She had three children with her film director husband, Matthew Vaughn. All three children were delivered by C-section and when her firstborn was scheduled, she said it was because she broke her foot.

She was at a party when she was seven months pregnant and oddly enough, a fireplace fell on her foot.

She had to go through surgery and the C-section was scheduled due to her injury. It definitely would suck to have a broken foot at a time like that. She also went ahead with a C-sections for her next two children, so it’s likely that her decision had nothing to do with her injury at the time.

Kelly Ripa Didn’t Have A Great Delivery

Many celebrities opt to have C-sections for the sake of convenience, but not all celebrity moms have that option. Kelly Ripa has three children and although she seemed to have great pregnancies with them, her deliveries didn’t go as well.

The talk-show host had an emergency during the first pregnancy that required her to have a C-section.

She had every intention of having a natural birth, but things didn’t go as planned. She tried again for her second child but was once again forced to have a C-section. When it came time to have her third child, she decided to schedule herself a C-section to avoid any further emergencies.

Kate Winslet Was Keeping A Secret

Originally, when Kate Winslet had her first child, it was announced as an “uncomplicated natural birth.” But that wasn’t really the truth. She had her child through C-section, but originally, she didn’t want to tell anyone about it. She ended up admitting her secret later on.

“I was so completely traumatized by the fact that I hadn't given birth. I felt like a complete failure."

She did, however, give birth to her second child naturally. "It was an amazing feeling having Joe naturally. Fourteen hours with no drugs at all, but then I had to have an epidural because I was so tired. I honestly thought I’d never be able to do it. It was an incredible birth. It laid all the ghosts to rest. It was really triumphant." No woman should feel like a failure because they don't give birth naturally.

Julia Roberts Plans Everything Out

Carrying twins is certainly not small feat and Julia Roberts found out that delivering them wasn’t any easier. Her fans were thrilled when they found out that the actress was pregnant with twins. She couldn’t predict everything and the babies gave her a hard time.

At some point, Roberts was hospitalized because she started having early contractions. She was eventually put on bed rest and forced to take it easy.

It didn’t seem to matter, though, because she went into early labor anyways and her twins were born prematurely via C-section. We’re not entirely sure if the C-section was planned since it was never disclosed.

Brooke Shields Experienced Some Trauma

Brooke Shields didn’t have an easy time getting pregnant, to begin with, so when she finally did, she was hoping to have a natural delivery as well. That didn’t happen, though, and she experienced a lot of trauma in the delivery room. After pushing for 24 hours, the doctors decided that she would have to have a C-section instead.

"I had always imagined that birth would be the closest thing to grace I'd ever experience," she wrote in her book Down Came the Rain.

She also experienced postpartum depression after the baby was born. She second child was a planned C-section and she “got to feel Grier, kiss her, and they put her right on my chest.” In this case, it sounds like the scheduled C-section was probably the best thing for her.

Toni Braxton’s Baby Controlled It All

Sometimes it just happens, that no matter how much we plan things out, life decides on coming no matter what we do. It seemed that no matter what Braxton did, the baby did not to wait until the due date. Denim Kole Braxton was due on Christmas Day, but decided to come three weeks early.

Doctors even gave her medication to try to slow things down, but it didn’t seem to work. That baby wanted out for Thanksgiving!

No matter what they did, that baby was determined to come early. So, they decided to plan a C-section and just get Denim out of there. "Once he threatened to come early, the doctor planned a C-section, but he came a week earlier than they had planned."

Britney Spears Didn’t Want To Feel Any Pain

Well, who does really? We’re sure that if any woman could decide against it, they'd all choose a pain-free labor. Spears had her first child when she was only 23 after she married Kevin Federline.

She always claimed to be ready to be a young mom, but wasn’t as ready to deal with the pain of labor.

She had two children and both of them were scheduled C-sections. It sounds like she got the idea from her mother to not go through a natural delivery. "I have a feeling I’m going to have an operation. I don’t know why, but I hope so. My mom said giving birth was the most excruciating thing that she’s ever gone through in her life. So, if a cesarean doesn’t happen, I’ll be like, ‘epidural, please!’ Hopefully my athletic abilities will take over.”

Jennifer Lopez Didn’t Want To Do Any Pushing

Like we’ve stated before, it’s not easy having twins, and sometimes extra precautions have to be taken. Jennifer Lopez claimed that since she was having twins, it was advised to her in the beginning that she should have a C-section. Considering her posh lifestyle and how busy she is we doubt that they really had to talk her into it. She wondered if she would regret the decision, but that was until she saw her sister go into labor.

"Because I had twins and it was recommended for me to have a C-section, and there was a part of me that had thought, 'I didn't get to do it the way that everybody else does.'

But when I saw my sister pushing that baby out, I was like, 'Maybe this was all right! Maybe this was a better out.' So that was an experience."

Ashley Simpson Was Too Scared

Ashley Simpson was another young mom and maybe that was part of the problem. She was good to go with going into labor until she started taking her Lamaze classes and then everything changed.

When she got wind of what labor was actually like, it scared her to death. In fact, she was so scared, she started to have nightmares about the birthing process.

So, it was not surprising that she scheduled a C-section to have her baby. "Ashlee planned to go through a natural childbirth, but the classes changed her mind." Sure, the birthing experience can be scary, and Simpson wasn’t taking any chances.

Gwyneth Paltrow's Just Not Doing It Again

Considering how natural Gwyneth Paltrow's lifestyle is, especially with her website Goop, you would think she would want a natural childbirth, as well. But you would be wrong. When it came to delivering her daughter Apple,

Paltrow endured a whopping 70-hour labor, so she wanted no part of the birthing experience when it came time for her son, Moses, to be born.

She was more than okay with giving her body a break after that one and we really can’t blame her. Most doctors wouldn’t have a woman in labor that long because it’s exhausting. We’re surprised the doctor didn’t schedule a C-section long before the 70th hour was up.
