The Beatles once sang out proudly that all you need is love. And while there are other things in life that you also need alongside love (oxygen is pretty awesome, not to mention peanut butter and jelly sandwiches), they still made a pretty strong point. Celebrities in Hollywood are no stranger to having their love lives get documented.

Which you have to admit, may come in handy when trying to remember their anniversary. But that isn't the only benefit.

The 15 female celebrities on our list today have all spoken out about their openness towards who they prefer to have around in their lives, if you know what we mean. In doing so, they've inspired millions to also come to terms with what helps rev their engine.

Many of the women on our list haven't had high-profile relationships with other women, such as Aubrey Plaza and Megan Fox, but that may just make their inclusion on this list all the more shocking. But as one entry may say, Stranger Things have happened!

Included are quotes from every single woman on our list. In the process we allow these women to put their preferences in their own words as we continue to assist them in the difference that they've made in the world.

Demi Lovato

Demi Lovato has had plenty of moments in her life where we're sure she would be the first person to admit she wasn't someone who should be looked at as a role model. But that's not the case in 2018. Lovato should be commended not only for her amazing messages of body positivity, but also her openness towards how she views her love life.

“I think love is love. You can find it in any gender. I like the freedom of being able to flirt with whoever I want,"

said Lovato in an interview with InStyle. During which Lovato also described her love life as being "Very fluid." It was a major thing for her to do, considering her fans resonate a lot with her for her past problems. So doing this, and choosing to say it, just allows her fans to even love her more.

Shailene Woodley

Shailene Woodley's biggest opportunity for fame in Hollywood came when she was cast as the lead in The Divergent Series. And while the franchise didn't live up to the expectations of many people involved, Woodley has still managed to keep her career going. This includes landing a role on the television series Big Little Lies.

When talking about how she views loving, Woodley revealed,

"I fall in love with human beings based on who they are, not based on what they do."

Needless to say, that is the general way most people should be falling in love, instead of being picky or absolutely refusing to see any other way. Sure, Woodley may do some crazy things like eat clay, but really, this kind of outshines any of the crazy things that she does. How could you not be moved by such sweet sentiment?

Aubrey Plaza

Celebrities are going to get fan letters from both genders. And it's perhaps only natural to assume that some of those letters they receive are of a certain nature that we certainly wouldn't be able to talk about in too much detail here.

It definitely seems like from this next quote from Aubrey Plaza though, that she knows what we're talking about,

"Girls are into me – that's no secret. Hey, I'm into them too. I fall in love with girls and guys. I can't help it."

This amazing woman has been open ever since she decided to make such statements, and has gotten overwhelming support and feedback from her fans. It makes complete sense considering her show, Parks and Recreation is a feel good, politically correct comedy show which brought in a lot of people who have good values.

Ke$ha

Ke$ha may wake up and brush her teeth with a bottle of Jack, but do you know who she is also waking up beside in the bed? Not that it's really your business, but based on this next quote that we have for you, it definitely seems like there is a chance that it might be a lady that was able to catch the eye of Ke$ha enough to get a backstage pass to her house!

"I don't love just men. I love people. It's not about a gender. It's just about the spirit that exudes from that other person," said Ke$ha.

Shannon Purser

There are definitely going to be some huge stars that emerge from the Netflix smash hit, Stranger Things. And while Shannon Purser's star may not be as big as someone like say, Millie Bobby Brown, she still must be honored to get to say she's been a part of such a tremendous show.

Purser's made headlines not only for her acting but also the knowledge that she may seek affection from both genders.

"It’s something I am still processing and trying to understand and I don’t like talking about it too much.”

We think that is more than okay. Regardless of who people love, what matters more is privacy. Unfortunately, that is a very hard thing to come by in Hollywood, and we think that stars often forget that when you sign up to be a star, you also sign up to give bits and pieces of yourself away.

Michelle Rodriguez

Michelle Rodriguez has tackled projects both in the world of television and film. And while she's often type-cast as the strong headed and muscled-up girl, she still manages to do her job well enough to keep her career afloat.

When talking about how she views dating, perhaps there is more flexibility there than she's shown as an actress!

"I've gone both ways. I do as I please. I am too curious to sit here and not try when I can. Men are intriguing. So are chicks," stated Rodriguez.

The incredibly beautiful star has always been open to that, and has been seen more than once dating notable people in Hollywood, and has been included also in one of the biggest franchises in the world: Fast and the Furious. Definitely not a bad way to live life, in our opinion.

Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus may spend all of her time thinking about her future husband and with good reason, Liam Hemsworth is a looker. But there was a long time in her life when Cyrus was known as one of the biggest partiers in Hollywood. And it's possible that some of those parties involved getting close to a woman.

"I don’t ever think about someone being a boy or someone being a girl....My first relationship in my life was with a chick,"

said Cyrus when talking about some of her past experiences. Of all the people in Hollywood, if we're being honest, this seems the most likely. Miley Cyrus has always been someone who has been free spirited, so it totally makes sense that she would not have such narrowed views about the people that she chooses to love.

Evan Rachel Wood

Tabloid media is always going to be trying to put a certain label on what someone's preference in the bedroom is. But Evan Rachel Wood would probably advise them that trying to put a title on her loving view is a waste of space.

"A big part of who I am, and it always has been for as long as I can remember. I've honestly fallen in love with a man and I've honestly fallen in love with a woman. I don't know how you label that, it's just how it is."

A lot of people do actually have a label for that, but the other thing that people are trying to do is erase labels altogether. It has been a long standing thing going on in the world, to just let people be, to love who they love, regardless of the name or any of it. So that is clearly the direction that Wood was trying to take, but it does not always work out. Still, her positivity is nice.

Megan Fox

Megan Fox has said some questionable things in her past, such as when she compared Michael Bay's directorial style to that of being Adolf Hitler. But she was probably just hoping to inspire others when she opened up about her loving thoughts,

"I have no question in my mind about [loving both genders]."

However, Megan went on to say that she's uncertain as to whether or not she could actually date a man, because she thinks men are dirty. So, that is an interesting conundrum, because it implies that not only men are dirty, but also in turn is Megan dirty for being with men? Honestly, the entire quote is not one of her smarter statements. While the latter part of the phrase caused some controversy, at least she's open about her thoughts.

Drew Barrymore

Interviewers are known for saying a lot of crazy things, and often time, asking way too many questions that are borderline inappropriate. Drew Barrymore was asked straight up on if she has ever thought about women in any way that exceeds platonic expectations.

"Yeah, I do. Totally. I have always considered myself [open to that]. I think a woman and a woman together are beautiful, just as a man and a woman together are beautiful."

Based on that it definitely seems like Barrymore has done some "exploring"! Either way, her response was well liked amongst the community and she spoke in a way that was classy. Sometimes, in fact, most of the time, celebrities tend to have their mouths run away with them, which leads to their lives becoming a disaster. Considering she has already been through a lot, we're glad to see this did not make it worse for her.

Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan hasn't had the easiest time growing up under the public spotlight the way she's had to. Part of that means she has also had the tabloid media become aware of when she has allegedly been with a woman. Interestingly though, that isn't even the most talked about thing considering her everlasting wild antics.

But when she was asked about how she viewed her thoughts on loving, it was definitely a more fluid answer,

"I don't want to classify myself. First of all, you never know what's going to happen tomorrow, in a month, a year from now, five years from now. I appreciate people, and it doesn't matter who they are, and I feel blessed to be able to feel comfortable enough with myself that I can say that."

Amber Heard

Amber Heard first made headlines about who she loves or doesn't love back in 2010, when she stated,

"I don't label myself one way or another—I have had successful relationships with men and now a woman. I love who I love; it's the person that matters."

Considering her marriage to Johnny Depp ended with serious abuse allegations, you can imagine that isn't a relationship she'd be able to chalk up to as an overall success! However, it is known that he was very insecure about such things, which is one of the very many reasons that they had problems. Though he is completely in the wrong, of course. Amber is definitely better off without him, and we can only hope that she finds someone a lot better to help her throughout her life.

Kristen Stewart

Kristen Stewart's role in Twilight put a spotlight on her that she's never been able to escape from. Granted it didn't help that she also dated her co-star Robert Pattinson! When talking about how she used to view paparazzi during that relationship, Stewart stated she would often try to hide.

In contrast, when Stewart has been spotted with a lady that she's entertaining back at home (such as Stella Maxwell), she feels very different.

"When I was dating a guy I was hiding everything that I did because everything personal felt like it was immediately trivialized, so I didn't like it. But then it changed when I started dating a girl. I was like, 'Actually, to hide this provides the implication that I'm not down with it or I'm ashamed of it,' so I had to alter how I approached being in public. It opened my life up and I'm so much happier."

Anna Paquin

There are many people all around the world who get inspired by celebrities. Anna Paquin knows that and is also aware of the impact that having open conversation about tougher topics - such as preferences - can be monumental in making a difference in the world.

"I'm completely comfortable with it and open about it. There's a lot of prejudice toward us but the more people talk about it, the less of a big deal it will be. And that will be better for everyone," said Paquin when talking about how she views women and men.

Needless to say, for those who are big fans of her, they have seen her as an X-Man as Rogue in the X-Men films. The X-Men were specifically created to be an allegory for such things, which makes it all the better.

Cara Delevingne

Cara Delevingne could have kept going in the world of modelling and never struggled to find work. She's been named model of the year on multiple occasions, but she showed a keen interest in the world of acting. This includes appearing in Paper Towns and the box office hit, Suicide Squad.

And while Delevingne knows how she may want to view her long-term love goals, she has also been open to dating her own gender.

"It is not a phase. I am who I am," said Delevingne in one interview.

In another, she also said, "The thing is if I ever found a guy I could fall in love with, I’d want to marry him and have his children. And that scares me to death because I think I’m a whole bunch of crazy, and I always worry that a guy will walk away once he really, truly knows me.”
