Any self-proclaimed entertainment junkie will tell you that there are 3 types of people in the showbiz world: the party animals, the couch potatoes and those in between who are not important nor exciting enough to pay any attention to.  As sanctimonious as we may try to be, we often live rather vicariously through the wickedly-wild celebs with the questionable morals who party until the early hours of the morning.

While none of the current A-listers can quite compete with the social media antics of a certain man somewhere in the United States, we still indulge in the lifestyles of the rich and famous as if they were our neighbours and not God-like entities on the other side of a television or movie screen. Although, let's be honest, we do very much like to think of them that way. It's really, not our fault.

Let's have a closer look at some of the biggest party animals and couch potatoes in the world of entertainment, celebrating their sobriety and hangovers with equal enthusiasm.

Couch Potato - Mila Kunis

Jackie Burkhart was more than a handful on That 70's Show but in the good ol' real world, 34-year old Mila Kunis is a family-orientated homebody. Even when she was single the dark-haired beauty preferred to stay at home on weekends sipping on a glass of her preferred drink and watching television. Steering clear of the wayward Hollywood social scene has never posed a challenge and now that she is enjoying parenthood with Ashton Kutcher, Mila is more than happy to be a stay-at-home mum.

For her role as Amy in the 2016 comedy Bad Moms, Kunis got to let loose portraying an overworked and underappreciated mom on the verge of a nervous breakdown who goes wild with some new-found freedom. Doting-mom Mila, however, is quite content playing house with her little family and although she has often questioned her own parenting skills, she seems to be doing a pretty good job thus far!

Party Animal - Scott Disick

Scott Disick is without a doubt one of the biggest losers around, but despite this rather harrowing fact, we just can't seem to get enough of his disturbing bad-boy behavior. You would think after being labeled the token cretin of the Kardashian family for more than a decade Scott would attempt to grow up and rectify his exhausting conduct, but no such luck.

From repeatedly breaking Kourtney's heart throughout their relationship to proclaiming in a Hampton bar in July 2017 that he wanted someone to pay very close attention to him (think outside the box on this one), we can't help but have sympathy for his new love interest, 19-year old Sofia Richie. It is no wonder that daddy Lionel Richie is not too pleased about his daughter's new choice in beau.

Couch Potato - Blake Lively

Everybody's favorite Gossip Girl, Blake Lively would much rather be at home than party it up with other A-listers. We can't blame a girl for wanting to stay in, especially not if you are married to the gorgeous Ryan Reynolds.  Blake's idea of going out entails watching a live-music show - not very exciting but admirable nonetheless.

If she wasn't so likable it would have been very easy to hate her: not only does she sport a gorgeous body, impressive wardrobe, and desirable bank balance but she is also a bit of a domestic goddess, preferring to cook for her family at home instead of spending time at expensive restaurants. I have to salute this girl! If I looked as good as she does in a pair of hotpants I would be twerking my booty off in a different club every night of the week!

Party Animal - Justin Bieber

When you are worth $225 million like Justin Bieber is, life is bound to be one long party. Notably one of the most polarizing celebs of all times, I myself can't quite decide whether I want to indulge in the fact that he is no longer considered too young, or trash and burn every music shop stocking his albums instead. Given his riches, it is no surprise that Justin Bieber chooses to squander a lot of his money on houses, cars, and parties (and another significant chunk in bailing himself out of trouble).

After being arrested in Miami Bech and charged with DUI, having an expired driver's license and resisting arrest, one would have thought he would have learned from his mistakes but alas, not the Biebs. After countless terrible escapades and even forgetting the lyrics to his own hit song, Despacito, we shouldn't hold our breaths to see a responsible, mature JB anytime soon.

Couch Potato - Robert Downey Jr.

Robert Downey Jr sports one of the best comeback stories in all of Hollywood. The poster child for bad behavior in the nineties, the actor, best known for portraying the role of Iron Man, survived numerous arrests and stints in rehab before landing up in a state prison in 1999 where he spent a year behind bars. It took a few more run-ins with the law for Bob to realize that there is a reason our parents warned us against such things.

Since taking the high road, Robert has remarried and has fathered a son and daughter with producer-wife Susan.  He continues to keep his eye on the prize, living the steps of his sobriety program and spending time with his family instead of a bottle of Scotch. Jarvis would be proud!

Party Animal - Rihanna

Rihanna has been a party girl for as long as we can remember and it was in June 2012 that she became known as the 'girl who was photographed on 61 nights out since January'.  As much as I frown upon using substances I have to admit I am rather envious of Riri - I don't think I have been out that many times in my whole life!  A lot of celebs prefer to keep their bad habits under wraps but not our girl over here. When Rihanna parties she takes to social media for all the world to see.

Celebrating her 30th birthday recently, the songstress started out the evening with an elegant dinner in New York City with family and close friends.  In true diva-style, the dinner was followed by a huge raucous bash that included the consumption of hundreds of bottles of champagne and Leo DiCaprio sneaking into the afterparty through a back door. I can't help but wonder how her wedding would turn out if she is to tie the knot with current beau Hassan Jameel.

Couch Potato - Joe Manganiello

I started crushing on Joe Manganiello long before he became known as the very aptly-named Big Richie in Magic Mike. He was my favorite hottie in One Tree Hill (yes, he was the barman and Brooke's brief love-interest Owen Morello) and the most desirable werewolf in all of werewolf history in True Blood. In the real world, Joe was a bit of a party animal back in his twenties, making countless bad choices before finally growing up in his thirties.

Today the brooding hunk is free of those things and prefers spending time with gorgeous wife Sofia Vergara while also being at the height of his career. I for one can't want to see Joe reprise his role as Deathstroke - no one can resist a crazy-hot assassin after all.

Party Animal - Harry Styles

There is no denying that Harry Styles is passionate about his career but the striking boy-bander is also a bit of a ladies' man who likes to play as hard as he works.  From overindulging at the 2013 Brit Awards to partying it up with former flame Kara Rose Marshall in London a few years back, it is safe to say that young Harry knows how to let his hair down and have some fun.

At his 23rd birthday celebration in Malibu which included guests such as Cindy Crawford and Adele, Harry was seen enjoying more than just a few shots. We can't blame a man for having a few drinks on his birthday though and, truth be told, Harry's behavior has not been nearly as shameful as that of other celebs his age. Instead of calling him a party animal perhaps we should stick to party-puppy - he isn't quite worthy of the former title just yet!

Couch Potato - Lucy Hale

Lucy Hale may be pretty but she is no little liar. She also doesn't possess the same wild streak as her character Aria Montgomery does on the hit ABC family series.  The show with the cult following wrapped filming in October 2016, and ever since then, Lucy has moved on rapidly.  Real-life Lucy is a lot more mature and level-headed than teacher-loving Aria could ever be. She has given up Hollywood parties and wants to surround herself with 'better people'.

After being thrust into the limelight she tried very hard to be a social butterfly and admits to making a few mistakes of her own. Lucy has no Ezra Fitz-like skeletons in her own closet and has her attention firmly focused on a healthy lifestyle and flourishing career. Good on you girl, you have made us proud!

Party Animal - Miley Cyrus

2017 saw a new-and-improved Miley take on the world. She vouched that she has waved goodbye to her wild ways and although we are impressed by her new-found maturity we can't strip her of her title of party-animal just yet. The former self-proclaimed wild child who grinded up against Robin Thicke at the 2013 MTV Music Awards has spent countless nights getting a little too happy at clubs and parties, much to the detriment of daddy Billy Ray Cyrus' mental health.

Miley's song 'We Can't Stop' referencing doing lines in bathrooms didn't sit well with the Hannah Montana mommy's club and the media lapped up every misstep young Miley Cyrus made. I would be lying if I said I wasn't a fan of Miley's antics and while I am in full support of her new-found grace I do hope she hasn't lost all of her spunk.

Couch Potato - Kendrick Lamar

Grammy-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar grew up in a family that regularly embraced partying and severe substance issues. His early years in Compton were spent surrounded by users, one of them his own dad. It is because of his childhood that Lamar opted to live a clean life, abstaining from such things.  When he isn't writing and recording award-winning hits, the gentle rapper is an advocate for living substance-free and speaks out against the promotion of such things in hip-hop music.

Despite uttering the odd dubious lyric, Kendrick's message to his young fans is very clear -  he wants them to know anything is possible with a little bit of effort. If his popularity is anything to go by, his message may just have enough reach to change the lives of countless impressionable youth around the globe. Well done on making a difference KL!

Party Animal - Cara Delevingne

Cara Delevingne has always been up for a wild party and is out and about the town just about every night. The supermodel turned actress often has so much in her body by the end of the night that she can't even walk out of a club unescorted. With errant behavior seemingly in her body, the gorgeous Delevingne has often been snapped by the paparazzi in rather unflattering positions, such as her stumble at the 2014 GQ Men of the Year Awards ceremony.

While most celebs are happy to embarrass themselves on social media, Cara takes her stupor to a whole new level, by sending Prince Harry text messages while under the influence. No matter how hard we try, we simply cannot compete with that! Not that her conduct has negatively affected her career in any way, Cara enjoyed a productive 2017 with 2018 set to be another good one.

Couch Potato - Bradley Cooper

The gorgeous Mr Cooper is very deserving of the 'Couch Potato'  title after giving up partying, kicking his addictions to the curb and becoming a highly successful (and rather delicious-looking) actor. The Hangover actor used to regularly indulge in substances and once got so wasted that he purposely hammered his head against a concrete floor - ouch!

After the head-banging incident at age 29, Brad realized that he was busy sabotaging both his personal life and career and decided that it was time to sober up. It takes quite a man to realize that his actions are only befitting of a child (not even then, really) and we can be extremely proud of Brad that he saw the light before his questionable lifestyle left him with only a hangover and not much else.

Party Animal - Katy Perry

Katy Perry is almost as well known for her frequent partying as for her ongoing feud with Taylor Swift. With claims suggesting that her relationships with both Russell Brand and John Mayer ended due to her wild ways, one would think the 'Swish Swish' singer would have toned down her behavior by now. 2017 was an exceptionally trying period in Katy's life with numerous incidents pointing to her possibly losing the plot.

The hashtag #freekaty started trending on social media after fans became concerned about Perry's well-being. Katy didn't exactly exude kindness when Britney Spears shaved her head and then she stepped out sporting a similar do, fueling rumors that her mental health has taken a knock. We can only hope that the poor girl sees the errors of her ways and lays off the partying before she gets carted away in a straight jacket to a comfy padded white room.

Couch Potato - Paris Hilton

No, you are not hallucinating nor is this an early April Fool's prank. The wildest of all celebs have finally grown up! The days where the blonde beauty partied till all hours of the morning and made the tabloids on a regular basis are long gone. The once-ditzy blonde has been hard at work establishing a career for herself as an entrepreneur (not that its necessary with daddy's millions) and has managed to stay out of trouble thus far.

While I doubt any warm-blooded human will ever completely forget a young and wild Paris (remember 1 Night in Paris anyone?) it is refreshing to see that her priorities have changed and that she is being more responsible. If Paris can turn over a new leaf who are we to continue living riotous lives filled with endless parties?
