20 Things Inside Ricky Martin’s Mansion (That Make Even His Haters Jealous)

Ricky Martin and his husband have traveled almost exclusively as both have been working and keeping busy with their respective careers. Martin just completed his One World Tour in which his entire family came with him, but both finally decided that it was time to plant a few roots. They chose to do so in Beverly Hills, California and picked an absolutely gorgeous estate that spans over 11,000 square feet and costs over $13 million.

After their twin boys, Tino and Matteo, were born on the road and spent every minute with the famous couple, the family slogan used to be ‘wherever we happen to be, that’s home.’ That worked for a while until the couple decided it was time to raise the boys in a more stable environment. Ricky and Jwan spent time looking at more than 25 houses in the area and tried to find the perfect match. They believe they’ve found it.

All in all, this home is amazing. It might not be everyone’s taste, but it is incredible to the point that even the Ricky Martin haters out there will be jealous that they don’t have some of the cool things Martin’s house has. From a huge kitchen, seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and all sorts of fun extras, this home is definitely something a person might envy.

Below is a list of 20 things you’ll find in the new mansion of Ricky Martin. If you weren’t a fan of Martin’s before, do you think differently of him now that you know he has such a nice home and what seems to be incredible taste?

20 The Price Tag? $13,500,000

via:cdn.revistavanityfair.es

The first thing you’ll find in this home is about $13.5 million. That’s what it cost the couple to buy the home which, depending on how you look at things, is either a lot of money or a really wicked investment. We’re not sure what Jwan Yosef makes with his art career but we do know, at the very least, that Martin is worth over $60 million. With his appearance in The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, he might be looking at a new acting career that will pay him even more.

We might not hear much from or about Martin in North America, but he’s such a huge star in Latin America that the investment is likely not of concern to him.

This is not to mention the amount of money the couple is spending doing renovations and re-modeling as they are changing some major features of the home.

19 Its Size? Over 11,000 Square Feet

Apparently, this now-over-11,000-square-foot home was a 3,000-square-foot property when it was first designed and built by acclaimed architect Gregory Ain. He came up with the concept and built the home back in 1953, but redesigns since that time ended up expanding the size of the property almost four times and resulted in 11,000 square feet of a modern residence. That doesn’t mean Martin and Yosef wanted to completely gut the original idea behind the home.

Both consider themselves students of art and they wanted to keep the clean lines, the openness, and the sense of calmness.

The home boasts seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a huge kitchen, indoor patio, massive family room, movie theater, art studio, recording studio, dream closet, and so much more. The couple is definitely taking advantage of the size of the home and making it work for them.

18 Jwan Yosef Art

via tumblr.com

Jwan Yosef is an aspiring artist. His work is displayed all around the home, and the couple actually considers the home more of a showcase for his work than they do a place they live in on a regular basis. From paintings to the artwork he designed and other artists’ works that he loves,

Martin believes Yosef has an impeccable taste so he let him have a ton of freedom to decorate and design the art in the home.

During a tour with Architectural Digest, Martin joked that there was an amazing Syrian-Swedish artist who was displayed all over the house. He called the artist very beautiful, and his handsome conceptual art showed how talented of an artist he was. He pointed to a piece in the home and called it a “Jwan Yosef.”

17 Multiple Grammy Awards

A lot of music fans know Ricky Martin as the guy who sang “Livin’ la Vida Loca.” Other fans may know him from his days in the boy band Menudo. But, many may not know that he came off a hugely successful residency at the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino in Las Vegas and has won a bunch of Grammy Awards during his career. Those Grammys are displayed in his home right in the middle of the family room.

Jealousy Fact 1: Martin appears not to have aged a day in his life and is starring in the FX drama The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story. In it, he plays Gianni Versace’s boyfriend, Antonio D’Amico. Martin also continues to make music and has no plans on slowing down. Meanwhile, Yosef is an accomplished artist and uses a good portion of the home to update and display his work.

16 The Tree House

via California

One of the things that sold the couple on the house was this bent tree that is in their backyard. It’s huge and they immediately pictured their kids being able to climb on it and create lasting memories. Martin promised he would build a custom tree house around the tree so the kids could play.

The twins are getting older, so if Martin is going to live up to his promise, he better do so soon. That said, he also said that he wants to have more kids and a really big family so the tree house will come in handy when they add more to their foursome. You can think it’s cheesy, but you have to admit, if you were a kid and had a treehouse like this, you’d have played in it all day long.

15 An Entire Movie Theater

What celebrity in Beverly Hills doesn’t have their own soundproof and lightproof movie theater? Most of them probably do, considering a lot of the residents there make their money by being in television or film. A movie theater is a must for screening your own work, researching other roles, or keeping up with the business. Not to mention that a movie theater is great for relaxing with the kids when you want to just chill for the evening and not do much of anything else.

This isn’t terribly special for a celebrity but a lot of us, average Joes, don’t have anything like this in our home and we can only wish that we did.

Since they’re both huge into art, I wonder if they watch a ton of artsy flicks or do they watch blockbusters and kids programs?

14 Interior Patio

via hrexach.wordpress.com

It’s pretty easy to be jealous of someone who has a wicked sweet patio in their backyard or a front deck they can watch a beautiful sunrise from. But, Ricky Martin and Jwan Yosef not only have that,

but they also have an interior patio that they can access from their main hallway that is perfect for resting or taking an outdoor nap.

We don’t know if the patio is accessible from outside but it looks like it might not be, which means that you have to be invited into the home to enjoy it. It’s a peaceful, tranquil getaway that most home designers probably wouldn’t have considered adding to the property. These two have another place to relax and it’s gorgeous. So, an indoor and outdoor patio. Jealous yet?

13 Huge Master Bedroom

The master bedroom is so big it’s actually like two rooms in one.

You’ve got the sleeping quarters in one space and then a small lounge area behind a short wall with a fireplace that keeps the room with an open feel but also a separate space for relaxing, lounging, or reading a good book.

Granted, we’re aware that most famous people have big master bedrooms, so that alone isn’t what might make someone jealous, but this bedroom is extremely gigantic. Famous designer Nate Berkus helped the couple realize their dream of having a home that was mostly done but not completely finished so they could grow into it and add their own style since both consider themselves artists. You can see that design work in the master bedroom.

12 Dream Walk-In Closet

via Lecturas

If you’re going to have a big bedroom, it only makes sense that you have a big closet, and Ricky Martin described this closest as a dream closet.

He loves it so much that he joked he would bring an air mattress in and sleep on the floor inside it.

The closet has tons of shelf space, an assortment of drawers, mirrors, and all sorts of other items that make this area look more like another bedroom than it does a closet space.

Interesting Fact: Martin was a headliner in the 2001 inauguration celebration for President George W. Bush. But as the Iraq War came to be, Martin’s opinion of the President changed as Martin is firmly against a war of any kind.

11 (One Of 8) Spacious Bathroom

via California

While the home features a whopping eight bathrooms, the main bathroom is a sight to behold. The shower is massive, the entire bathroom space is huge, the lighting from the ceiling window is amazing, and

the layout makes it feel like a little loft of on its own.

The bathroom has a modern feel to it and has tons of light from the outside that make it feel almost like it’s outdoors. But really, the size of that shower is almost too big. What the heck do you do with a shower that large and how much water do you waste? That said, there’s not a person reading this article that wouldn’t love to say that they have a shower that big and gorgeous. It truly is amazing.

10 Night-Time Fire Pit

via Lecturas

Both Ricky Martin and Jwan Yosef called their outdoor fire pit area their favorite area of the entire property. They will often come out to this area together or with the kids and light a fire, tell stories, relax, or maybe even sing a Latin song or two.

It is pretty cool, especially when you consider the type of weather people get in Los Angeles. Warm sunny days and colder nights when the sun goes down make for the perfect fire pit environment. Those chairs look extremely comfortable and you can imagine that the two like to talk about music, art, and a host of other topics when they’re not working on their own respective projects. It’s hard to know what might make one more jealous—the fire pit or the weather that makes having a fire pit in your home a perfect decision.

9 A (Original) Yoga Room

This isn’t a photo of Ricky Martin and Jwan Yosef’s yoga room, and there’s a good reason for that. While the house came with a yoga room/studio, the couple didn’t want to use it as such, so they turned it into Jwan’s art studio.

Martin said that he thinks a yoga room comes with every house in Beverly Hills but he knew neither of them would ever use it for that purpose.

It made more sense to change it to what they wanted.

Interesting Fact: In 2010, Martin publicly acknowledged his homosexuality stating, “I am proud to say that I am a fortunate homosexual man.” This came just after television personality Barbara Walters expressed regret for pushing during an interview to admit if he was gay because there were rumors suggesting that he was.

8 Recording Studio

via riftstudiosnyc.com

Again, because Ricky Martin’s recording studio didn’t yet finish being renovated at the time he took Architectural Digest for a tour of his new home, there is no photo to speak of that show his new studio. So, we’re showing you potentially what his new studio could look like.

The best thing to do is just close your eyes and imagine what a Grammy-winning artist with a good chunk of money might put into his own recording studio. Yes, whatever you envisioned, we probably did too and we’re jealous just like you. His recording studio was also a part of the original Yoga room that they removed because they don’t do Yoga. When he described what it looked like now, he said it was like a cave with all sorts of dark creatures in it. Sounds like he has some work to do.

7 Lasting Memories

One of the things Ricky Martin wanted to do when he bought the home/mansion was to keep the original idea of the design and concept intact but also add some of his own style and personality from homes that he’d owned before. That included pieces he already purchased and items that came with lasting memories. One of those items is a formal dining room table.

Martin has a dining table that he moved into the mansion, and he’s had it since he bought his first ever home.

He said it was his first table and that it was about twenty-five years ago that he bought it. He takes it with him everywhere and always keeps it as his own personal table. “I love my table!” he said excitedly.

6 Massive Kitchen

via Lecturas

A big mansion has to have a big kitchen. Martin’s home features a chef’s kitchen with marble and Caesarstone countertops and sub-zero appliances. Yep, we’re wishing we had that kind of kitchen too.

When AD took a tour of the home, Ricky was worried it was a mess but it wasn’t too bad, especially considering that he had a ton of guests over and they were in the middle of a production shoot. But, considering Martin described the kitchen as “where everything happens,” it makes sense that it might be the messiest room in the home.

Interesting Fact: Martin likes to use a lot of interview-style shows to share news with his fans. Beginning in April of 2016, he started dating Syrian Swedish painter Yosef, and the two announced their engagement while on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

5 Functional Relaxed Family Room

A lot of wealthy people have incredible-looking family rooms that you can tell costs hundreds of thousands of dollars to furnish, but these rooms aren’t all that functional. Not in Ricky Martin and Jwan Yosef’s house, though. Their family room is actually a place you can hang out in, get comfortable, watch television, and enjoy the atmosphere.

It’s fun, wide open, modern, and comfortable. It’s all the things most of us wish our family rooms were but often aren’t because we’re too worried they’ll look fancy.

They say their family room gets most of their time because it’s where they like to relax, put their feet up, and watch TV. They both have their own respective spots on the couch. You know you spend a lot of time in one room when you always sit in the same spot.

4 Massive Hallway Filled With Fine Art

via architecturaldigest.com

If you want to know how big your house is, see how long it takes for you to walk down your hallway. It’s a pretty good bet that if you have a really long hallway, you probably have a big house. Well, Ricky Martin and Jwan Yosef have a really, really long hallway in their house. It passes some rooms, provides access to their indoor patio, and leads to the master bedroom. When the couple took AD on a tour, they said,

“So this is really like a supermassive hallway that just leads you to the master,”

said Jwan. The walls are filled with art and you can see the couple’s style choices when it comes to the art that Yosef either makes or Martin collects. It has some very interesting pieces on display, including some of their favorite artists.

3 Resort-Style Pool

via Homes of the Rich

What’s a fancy house or mansion without a massive pool and completely outrageous view? Not only do Martin and Yosef have a big pool but it leads off their patio into a waterfall that connects the pool to the edge of the deck, creating a designer’s dream of a pool layout. It’s gorgeous and acts almost like a decoration for the home instead of a pool that kids would want to play in all day long.

Interesting Fact: When asked who some of Martin’s famous influences were, he included Michael Jackson, Cher, Madonna, Elvis Presley, Sting, Barbra Streisand, and Daniel Day-Lewis. It’s quite the list and Daniel Day-Lewis sort of stands out like a sore thumb on this list. One has to wonder if he used some of Lewis’ acting for inspiration for his role in American Crime Story.

2 Art Studio

via Piknu

We mentioned the Yoga studio that is no longer a Yoga studio. Well, here is a glimpse of what it looks like now. It has become and acts as the art studio for Jwan Yosef. He works on his contemporary-style pieces and paints in this area. For any artist, this room is a dream. There are endless possibilities of ideas that Yosef can come up with and an assortment of ways he can create his next masterpiece.

One of his favorite concepts seems to be a wooden frame that he drapes fabric around but hangs them in a succession of three pieces all with different fabric heights.

Yosef has taken part in a variety of art fairs and exhibitions and has held two solo exhibitions. One was called High Notes.

1 Happy Family

Above all the material goods, big rooms, fancy items, and valued possessions, there is nothing more valued to Ricky Martin than his two twin boys and the life they’re trying to build as a family in this new home. That’s something that could make anyone jealous.

The couple looks extremely happy in this new location, letting their kids finally get rooted at a location they can call home and having a surrounding they can enjoy and grow up in. Nothing makes people more jealous than seeing someone else be happy. And for all the Ricky Martin haters out there, start getting jealous because he looks to be enjoying every minute of his new life with his new husband and their kids. It’s a nice house but an even nicer family.
