15 Celebs Who Couldn't Keep It Down

There are countless perks to being a rich, famous, and beautiful celebrity in Hollywood, but there are also plenty of pitfalls. The biggest of pitfalls that befall the large majority of celebrities across the world is that there is always a camera on them at all times. Whether it be a camera on the set of a film, a camera phone from a fan trying to snap a pic, or the paparazzi trying to snap several pictures for profit, there is always a camera on a celebrity at just about every waking moment of the day. This has led to celebrities getting caught in the most unflattering of predicaments.

Keep in mind, celebrities are never done up at all times of the day. They don't always wear make up and look glamorous 24/7. When they are not in a movie, performing, singing, or attending events, they look just as terrible and pale as the average citizen. However, there is something about catching a celebrity in their most inopportune moment that the public tends to eat up and that is not more true than when pics get snapped of celebs when they throw up. There are a surprising amount of pictures and tales regarding celebrities who are unlucky enough to get caught throwing up in public. Here are our favourite Hollywood puking moments.

15  Lady Gaga

In 2012, Lady Gaga gave one of the most difficult performances she ever had to endure in the wake of constantly puking. In total, the pop star vomited four times on stage. At the very start of her show, she strutted down a staircase as she did so many times before, only this time, she stopped and bowed over to gag out her lunch from earlier. She tried to steer on by performing "The Edge of Glory," but not without stopping again to spew out the breakfast she had that day. As she continued, she couldn't help but puke some more in between some dance routines. Still, this was a whole lot let gross to watch than watching Millie Brown puke down Gaga's throat at SXSW 2014.

14 Justin Bieber

For being someone who often got labeled as America's sweetheart, Justin Bieber sure did get himself into a whole lot of party-boy antics. One of his most publicized antics came when he puked onstage. Presumably after another wild night of partying. Bieber jousted onto the stage in 2012 and before his performance and had a chance to kick into high gear, he kneeled over to hurl. Most notably, aside from the puking, fans noticed that Bieber was lip syncing when he stopped singing. He then ran backstage to throw up some more. When he was done, he came back onstage, made light of his puke session, and managed to finish the show with flying colors.

13 Rihanna

It can be argued that Rihanna's most memorable video was the music vid for "We Found Love," where there is a scene in which Rihanna pukes several streams of colorful ribbons on the street. This would not be the last time we would see Rihanna throw up, and the next time we did see her puke, she blew real chunks. Back in 2011, while performing "What's My Name?" at a concert in Portugal, a nauseous Rihanna suddenly rushed backstage to release her brunch into a trash can. Just in time for "Rude Boy," she returned to the stage and explained what happened on Twitter. In 2012, she was seen barfing at a night club while celebrating her festival performance from earlier that weekend.

12 Adele

Adele has been performing on stage for well over a decade now; ever since 2006 at the age of 18, straight out of high school. Considering how long she's been in the music game and how many Grammys she's accumulated for her hard work, one would think that Adele would be one of the most confident singers in the industry at the moment. However, Adele herself would beg to differ. She once admitted in an interview with British Vogue that she still gets the jitters before every one of her shows. She gets so nervous before each of her shows that she cannot help herself but "puke quite a lot before going onstage, though never actually onstage."

11 Taylor Momsen

For the most part, all of these entries have documented moments in time where celebs threw up because they drank too much or partied a little bit too hard at the club. The Pretty Reckless singer and Gossip Girl star Taylor Momsen had a much dire situation when she puked during a gig with her band. At age 16, Momsen came down with a bad case of food poisoning right before a stage performance. She tried as long as she could to muster through her performance, but it was so hot in the venue that she was performing in, it all got to her head. Then, before even she knew it, she lost her lunch. Since she was singing and refused to walk off, she felt she had no choice but to swallow her vomit and keep singing.

10 Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer Lawrence has gotten herself into an array of embarrassing situations over the last few years — falling at the Oscars on her way to accept her Oscar and falling on the red carpet the following year at the Oscars again. Moments like these have allowed audiences to equate her to some cringe-worthy human personification of Tumblr in living form. One of her more embarrassing moments came when she puked in the hallway while attending a play starring Olivia Wilde. This wouldn't be the first time Lawrence puked in front of a major celebrity as she previously puked in front of Emma Stone after a night of hard partying. Before that, she puked in front of Miley Cyrus at an Oscars after party.

9 Caleb Followill

His name may not be as recognizable to the vast majority of the public, but everyone most definitely has heard of the band that he happens to front for. Caleb Followill has been the lead singer of Kings of Leon since 1999, and the band has garnered a whopping 12 Grammy nominations (with four wins) over a long career spanning 7 albums. While the name of the lead singer himself rarely ever makes the news, he certainly did make headlines when he left the stage during a performance. Right before leaving, he told his fans, "I'm gonna go backstage and I'm gonna vomit, I'm gonna drink a beer, and I'm gonna come back out and play three more songs." He never returned to the stage.

8 Katy Perry

In the wake of getting performance artist Millie Brown (no relation to Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown) to "puke" green milk down her throat at SXSW, Lady Gaga received a whole lot of flak for supposedly glorifying bulimia. Fans who attended Katy Perry's concert later that year and saw the "Dark Horse" songstress spew green puke out of her own mouth in a speculated diss to Gaga, fans took it for an awfully amusing sight. What was not so amusing was when Perry puked on stage for real while attending the BRIT Awards a few years earlier. Perry had a flu of 102 and spent most of the night bent over a toilet until Natalia Imbruglia retrieved her to tell Perry to go on stage and accept her award.

7 Lindsay Lohan

In 2015, when discussing her own puking habits in an interview on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Jennifer Lawrence admitted that she gets "like, Lindsay-Lohan-grade exhaustion [from throwing up], but without any drugs or alcohol." Understandably, Lindsay Lohan was miffed about Lawrence's comments — tweeting that she was disappointed in Lawrence for not being a more positive role model "like #mayaangelou"— but it is hard not to see the point that Lawrence was making. While Lohan has become a changed woman in recent years, she was a heavy duty partyer in the 2000s. This led to the paparazzi snagging several unflattering drunk pics of Lohan on a regular basis.

6 Keanu Reeves

Over the course of the last couple years, Keanu Reeves has miraculously and successfully made a Hollywood comeback thanks to the success of the John Wick franchise. We say miraculously because the last decade was not very kind to Keanu Reeves prior to his casting as John Wick. It was only in the late 2000s when a camera caught a glimpse of Keanu Reeves looking so pitiful that the "Sad Keanu" meme was born. Around the same time, another camera caught glimpse of Keanu Reeves pulling over to the side of a street to puke out of his car. Whatever that brown substance spewing out of his mouth is, it's not a pretty sight. We're glad Reeves is doing well these days.

5 Harry Styles

In 2014, Harry Styles unexpectedly pulled his car over on the 101 freeway in Los Angeles so that he could upchuck something vile out of his mouth onto the side of the road. Many of his fans assumed that Styles was hurling out the remnants of a hangover from the night before, but Styles came forward later on to address what really happened that day. In reality, Styles was in the middle of a really long hike. So long that he took a break to puke on the side of the road because he was so exhausted from the hike. It's also worth noting that since the incident, in a strange turn of events, Styles' puke spot was erected into a shrine by his fans. How sweet and odd of them.

4 Anna Trebunskaya

Anna Trebunskaya may be the least widely known celebrity on this list, but that does not take away from the fame the ballet dancer has gained from appearing on Dancing with the Stars. While she is best known for partnering up with some pretty well-known celebrities— including Gary Busey, Sugar Ray Leonard, Chuck Liddel, and Jerry Rice — she also accumulated a whole lot of attention after she got caught throwing up in public. The incident happened in 2015 at a Dancing with the Stars after party. An hour and a half later, she rushed out with her partner, leaving a trail of ingestion chunks on the ground behind her.

3 John Popper

John Popper is a legendary blues rock musician whose career spans an incredible 30 years ever since first starting out in 1987. His career highlights include being the frontman for the band Blues Traveller, winning a Grammy for the song "Run-Around" and puking on stage during a concert in 2013. Well, that last part isn't much of an accolade, but it got him on this list, which is an honor as good as any Grammy. While performing at the Florida concert, he was knocking back beers left and right, until the last beer he chugged did not go down the right pipe. In fact, he had no choice but to regurgitate it back up on to the stage floor. Thankfully, he was still able to continue the concert.

2 Serena Williams

advertising

Going into the 2015 Australian Open, tennis superstar Serena Williams was incredibly  sick. Looking at the tournament in retrospect, Williams recalls never being more sick in her life than she was during the Australian Open. During the Australian Open final against her career rival Maria Sharapova, Williams broke into a coughing fit and had to briefly sneak away in order to puke elsewhere. Somehow, despite the odds being against her and being ill, Williams recovered long enough to beat Sharapova and win the tournament. It turned out to be Williams's sixth Australian Open victory and her 19th Grand Slam.

1 "The Phantom Puker"

Earlier this year, there was a strange mystery that alluded many of the guests at the 2017 Emmy Awards. Guests arrived on the red carpet that day to find a big puddle of brown-colored puke staining the carpet. No one knows who could have done the deed, but whoever they were, they must have legged it awfully quickly after puking if no one saw them puke, despite being surrounded by dozens of cameras and hundreds of fellow celebrities. It's anybody's guess who the puke belonged to, although much of Twitter speculated that it was actually Sean Spicer in disguise, seeing how he appeared on stage later that night.
