It's not always easy to try and live up to your parents' expectations. Whether it’s the people you date, the career you choose or their opinion on your overall lifestyle, most individuals have a pretty good idea of what their parents expect from them.

That pressure becomes all the more apparent when your mother or father just happens to be one of the most famous people in the world. Not only do you have the inherent expectation that you also must be successful, but you know that society is going to be keeping tabs on you, perhaps especially if you are not so successful.

Below we have 15 celebrities and their children that definitely did not live up to their expectations. That doesn’t mean some of these celebrities and their offspring are not talented or rich, but it does mean they’ve all exhibited behavior that did not make Mom and Dad proud.

Whether it is doing so much coke their nose was clogged, going to jail for several years (including one kid who spent 2 years in solitary confinement) or participating in some adult entertainment (when she was 18!), we’ve got some celebrity children that ran into problems in a variety of situations. Suri Cruise also makes the list, but when you find out how long it's been since Tom has seen her, as well as the reasons why, you'll understand how disappointed he must be in her.

One thing will definitely become clear by the end of the list, just because Mommy or Daddy is rich and famous, does not mean you have an easy life set out for you.

15. Indio Downey - 8+ Year Drug Addict, Kicked Out Of House

If we’re going to be fair, Indio’s father Robert definitely did some pretty rebellious things during his youth too, including several stints in jail. But it’s still never going to be a positive day when you get arrested, especially when the cops find cocaine and a pipe in your car.

Indio was arrested back on June 30th, 2014 when he was 20 years old, and pleaded guilty to cocaine possession. As a result, Indio spent time in rehab and went through a drug-diversion program.Robert Downey Jr. also put Indio into rehab shortly after his arrest in hopes of helping clean his son up. A friend close to the family said, "Bob not only knows about Indio's struggles, he's tried everything, as all parents do, including kicking Indio out of the family home, followed by boundaries and tough love. None has worked.” The friend went on to add that Indio had been a hard drug user for up to 8 years.

While not much is known about Indio now, in 2016 RDJ took to social media to congratulate his son on his continual commitment to recovery and sobriety, which at the very least indicates that he’s been able to get himself clean.

14. Jaycee Chan - Convicted On Drug Charges

Jackie Chan’s son Jaycee Chan may not be a well-known name in North America, but like his father, he has entered into the acting world. Unlike his father, who was named the anti-drugs ambassador in China in 2009, Jaycee appears to enjoy smoking and selling marijuana. A fact that the cops found very interesting when they raided his apartment back in August 2014 and found more than 100 grams of the drug. Jaycee was convicted on drug charges and hosting others to take drugs and as a result spent 6 months in prison.

When talking about it, Jackie expressed how furious he was, saying “I failed to teach my son and I should also bear responsibility. Jaycee and I deeply bow in apology to society.”

13. Marston Hefner - Beat His Girlfriend

When your father is Hugh Hefner, it may be a little bit less impressive when you start dating the former Playmate of the Year. Yet that was the case for his son Marston, who started dating Claire Sinclaire in August 2010. The two had an up and down relationship that ended incredibly poorly after Weston was charged with corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant after he started punching and kicking Sinclaire during an argument.

In a post on Twitter that was later deleted, Hefner said "I’m really disappointed in my son Marston's behavior & have expressed my support to Claire."

Despite that, Claire later came out to E! news, saying “Nobody's empathetic or concerned. It's more like, cover it up and protect the image, you know what I'm saying?"

Claire also elaborated that the argument was over something silly and then he kicked her causing her to fall backward, at which point Marston started punching her.

12. Chet Hanks - Did So Much Coke His Nose Was Clogged

When it comes to children, Tom definitely wouldn’t be disappointed in

his son Colin. Colin followed in his footsteps and has had an incredibly successful acting career including roles in Dexter and Band of Brothers. Things aren’t going quite as smoothly for his son Chet, who was allegedly an aspiring rapper and also a former big-time drug addict.

When talking about it, Chet said “A couple months ago I was selling coke, doing coke until I couldn’t even snort it up my nose anymore because it was so clogged. I even smoked crack.”

Thankfully, Chet was able to check himself into rehab, saying “I just had to really take a look at myself and my life and the way s— was going and all the crazy, stupid s— I was doing. Just finally admit to myself that it wasn’t working and I had to try something new and that thing was to not do any drugs or alcohol.”

On top of this incident, Tom and his wife Rita were pulled into a lawsuit after Chet got into a car accident with a woman who suffered emotional and physical damages. In the lawsuit, Terry Moogan accused Chet of being under the influence of alcohol, saying

“Despite knowing that Chester Hanks was a careless and reckless driver and a habitual user of drugs and alcohol, they negligently permitted Chester Hanks to operate their vehicle.”

Definitely not the best thing to bring home to Dad!

11. Suri Cruise - Haven't Seen Each Other In 3+ Years

There are a lot of kids on here that did a lot of awful things to make their parents disappointed in them. For Suri Cruise, the only thing she did was not become a Scientologist. And while we don’t know if she’ll live up to Tom’s expectations, we do know she has no idea what those even are. Why? Because it was reported back on June 3^rd, 2016 that the two have not talked to or seen each other in roughly 1,000 days!

Cruise allegedly blames his work schedule as being part of the reason why, but we’re pretty sure that excuse doesn’t hold as much weight when your ex-wife Katie Holmes is both an actress and a fantastic parent. When talking about his relationship, an insider said “Tom eats, breathes and sleeps Scientology. He’s disconnected from Katie, and then de facto from Suri, because of her connection to Katie. He hasn’t seen her since she was seven.”

You can only hope Cruise has a better relationship with his other daughter Isabella and son Conner.

10. Miley Cyrus - Known Drug Lover, Posts Risque Photos

Let’s be fair, Billy Ray's daughter Miley Cyrus is far from not being a success. She’s had several albums that have found commercial success, her tours are reportedly a great time, and in general she’s done some pretty great things for society.

But could you imagine being her father? We’re sure she can bond with her dad over having a successful music career, but hopefully they just skirt awkwardly by all the conversations of her being caught partying, posing naked for magazines or in general getting into antics for attention. Miley has also been open about her love of drugs, which also is not the best for a father to hear, saying “I think weed is the best drug on earth. One time I smoked a joint with peyote in it, and I saw a wolf howling at the moon. Hollywood is a coke town, but weed is so much better. And molly, too. Those are happy drugs – social drugs.”

Perhaps they still get along because Miley admits that Billy Ray Cyrus is technologically illiterate and avoids tabloids. “It's good that he doesn't know how to Google and all that shit. My dad barely knows how to use the computer. It literally takes him 45 minutes to send a tweet,” she told RollingStone.

One Google of “Miley Cyrus Naked” and you get one awkward family bonding conversations.

9. Christian Brando - Spent 5+ Years In Jail After Murder

Marlon Brando may be known as The Godfather, but if there was one of his kids that you didn’t want piss off, it was his son Christian. In 1990, Christian’s half-sister Cheyenne who was pregnant at the time confided in him that her boyfriend Dag Drollet was being physically abusive.

As a result, Christian pulled out a gun and killed Drollet. He was sent to 10 years in prison and was released in 1996 after serving 6 years. In an even sadder twist, Cheyenne committed suicide in 1995.

Once released from prison things quieted down for Brando, but in 2001 he was a suspect in the murder of Bonnie Lee Barkley, who was sleeping with Brando despite being married to Robert Blake. While he was not charged, it was still not the best situation.

In 2005, Christian also made headlines when his wife accused him of spousal abuse. After pleading guilty Christian was sentenced to five years probation.

Christian died in 2008 at the age of 49 after suffering from pneumonia.

8. Cameron Douglas - Arrested and Spent 5+ Years For Drug Dealing

Michael Douglas is one hell of an actor, but his son is apparently not one hell of a drug dealer. Cameron has had several run-ins with the law and in 2009 was arrested for selling methamphetamine from a high-end hotel in Manhattan.

In 2013, it was announced that Cameron’s appeal to have his sentence reduced was denied. When asked why, it was mentioned that Cameron repeatedly broke prison rules including 4 separate incidents in which he convinced a woman to smuggle anti-anxiety prescription drugs in through her bra.

After drugs were found in his system in 2013, he was sent to solitary confinement. He ended up spending 2 years in solitary, and after 7 years in jail he was released to a halfway house.

Prior to that, when Cameron was under house arrest in 2009 he was also able to convince a girlfriend to bring him heroin that was hidden in an electric toothbrush. Cameron allegedly started doing cocaine when he was 20 years old and had been doing heroin since he was 25.

When Michael Douglas received his Best Actor award at the Emmys, he said “At first, I was certainly disappointed with my son, but I’ve reached a point now where I’m disappointed with the system.”

Douglas himself has battled addiction in the past, and had a stint in rehab, had lost a brother to an overdose. Cameron’s mother also had alcoholism run in their family. Douglas has also publicly said that he blames himself for his son because he was not a good father.

7. Stephanie Bongiovi – Heroin Overdose

Jon Bon Jovi is one of the best musicians of all time, but despite all the appeals that come with the rock and roll lifestyle, he’s openly said in the past that he was always able to stay away from drugs and alcohol. Things were not quite as easy for his daughter Stephanie Rose, who was found overdosing from heroin when she was only 19 years old. Stephanie was at university when she was found unconscious in her dorm room with a small amount of heroin nearby.

Because she overdosed, the potential charges for drug possession were not held against her. When talking about the experience of receiving the phone call from her daughter, Bon Jovi said “It was horrible, a horrible moment. It was my worst moment as a father.”

It was approximately a year later when Stephanie was looking healthy as she joined the family for a charity gala.

“She was by no means sticking needles in her arms. But there’s a lot of synthetic stuff in the world and a lot of temptation and access and pressures that just a generation ago you and I didn’t know about. I wasn’t aware of it, not because I’m not home but because it is a different world," said Bon Jovi when he was asked about how she may have gotten involved.

6. Tallulah Willis - Addicted To Cocaine

When your parents are Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, there is definitely a lot of pressure to make sure you grow into a successful adult. For Tallulah Willis, that pressure led to her developing an eating disorder at an early age and then turning to drugs and alcohol.

We have to give Tallulah credit, as she said she sought out rehab before any big incident landed her in the tabloids for all the wrong reason. When talking about it, Tallulah said, “I was so removed from my body and from my mind that it was like I was living in a cardboard replica of what life should be.”

Tallulah was well known in the party scene, allegedly having a pretty severe addiction to cocaine. One source close to the family said, “Tallulah doesn’t know right from wrong, because she was raised without boundaries. She looks for trouble to get attention.”

In much less serious news, the couple’s daughter Scout Willis was also cited for underage drinking when she was 20 after chugging a can of Pakistani beer in front of cops and then giving them a fake ID.

5. Weston Cage - Arrested Several Times, Drank 30 Beers a Day

We’re sure that Nicolas Cage is just happy that of his two sons, the one named Kal-El isn’t the one we’re going to talk about being a disappointment. His other son Weston on the other hand got in some hot water back on July 5^th, 2011 after he and his then-wife Nikki Williams were charged with domestic violence.

According to the police report, Weston was found with cuts on his arms and Williams had threatened to jump off a balcony during the disagreement.

A month prior to that, Weston was taken away in an ambulance after an altercation with his personal trainer who allegedly forbid Weston from ordering an item on the menu. As a result, Weston tried to kick him and the trainer punched him 13 times in the face.

Weston followed that up by being arrested on July 20^th with what appeared to be self-inflicted knife wounds.

Weston also then spent some time in rehab, in which he posted messages to Facebook like “I BELONG TO YOU NIKKI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!! I BELONG TO YOU NIKKI!!!!!!!!!!!! I BELONG TO NE-HE_HE_HEHE_KEEEEEEEEEEEE i get to take you around the world and cover you in jewels HAHAHAHAHAHAHA lets make mad bank my love and buy an island called the WEST NIKKI ISLANDS”

The two later got divorced, which definitely isn’t shocking when you find out that they were only engaged for two weeks.

Not bad enough yet? In 2012 he also was hospitalized after suffering intense withdrawals from alcohol. He allegedly was drinking up to 30 beers a day on top of some boxed wine.

Things are at least turning up for Weston, who got married to his new wife Danielle in 2013. The two welcomed their son Lucian into the world on July 3^rd, 2014.

4. Nicole/Sofia Richie - Rehab, Arrested Several Times/ Dated Bieber

When you’re Lionel Richie, you really have two options for who you want to be disappointed in. You have Nicole on one hand, who has had drug problems including being charged with possession of heroin and driving with a revoked license in 2003. As a result, Nicole spent some time in rehab and 3 years in probation.

To Lionel’s credit, he was one hell of a father during her stay in rehab, saying to her “I am with you and I cancelled [my] tour. Me and your mother [Brenda Richie] are checking into rehab with you."

Nicole’s legal troubles didn’t end there, also getting arrested in 2006 after she was caught driving under the influence. She admitted to police that she had taken some Vicodin and marijuana prior to driving. Nicole has since been able to clean her act up and is the mother to two children with husband Joel Madden.

She credits one of her sobering moments from her father who told her how he lost 3 friends growing up to drugs and he didn’t want that to happen to her. After she lost 2 of her friends, she called him saying “Dad I need help, I don’t want to be the third one.”

Richie is also going to be hosting the upcoming 2016 Environmental Media Association Awards.

As for Lionel’s daughter Sofia? She’s been linked to Justin Bieber in the past! Who would want him as a son-in-law?!

3. Martin and Charlie Sheen - Where Do We Start?

When you consider that my favourite role for Martin Sheen is the President in The West Wing, it makes it all the crazier to think of how much of a screw-up Charlie Sheen has become. Sure, Charlie has had his fair share of acting success, but would you really be happy to be his father?

We can talk about the fact that Charlie has had several divorces, some of which have been a result of his drug and alcohol abuse, as well as threats of violence against Denise Richards. His 3^rd wife also literally wrote in a court document, “I am very concerned that [Sheen] is currently insane.”

Sheen has also had a relationship with several adult film stars and while that may not be so awkward for Martin, it’s definitely not the most comfortable dinner conversations.

Sheen’s last relationship with adult film star Scottine Ross ended in more violence, with her saying in an interview, “The scariest moment was when he pinned me to the wall and he went off on me, and he choked me to the point of where I almost passed out. I remember screaming to him, ‘Charlie, I can’t breathe. Please stop, please stop.’ And he just kept saying, ‘I’m going to f—— kill you.'”

The LAPD announced back in April 2016, that they were going to look at these comments and that he was subject to a criminal investigation.

Martin has admitted in the past that he felt incredibly powerless while Charlie was going through his downward spiral.

2. Jaden and Willow Smith - Not The Brightest Individuals

If we are going to be fair, at least neither Jaden nor Willow Smith have a history with drug use or criminal past. But holy cow are they ever something else. You have Jaden who is just dumb, I mean “did that really just come out of your mouth?” kind of dumb that no parent in their right mind wouldn’t be at least a little embarrassed. Below we’ve embedded some of the “best” tweets that Jaden has graced the world with.

You also may not want to ask his opinion on nutrition:

Both of them are also far from humble. Willow once said “There’re no novels that I like to read so I write my own novels, and then I read them again, and it’s the best thing.”

They also both hate education.

Willow chimed in, “I went to school for one year. It was the best experience but the worst experience. The best experience because I was, like, ‘Oh, now I know why kids are so depressed.’ But it was the worst experience because I was depressed.”

They also both don’t believe in the concept of time, with Willow saying “Time for me, I can make it go slow or fast, however I please, and that’s how I know it doesn’t exist."

But have no fear, if you ever wonder “What on earth are you doing Willow?!” she has that answer covered.

At least you know Willow is always looking out for you!

When talking about his son, Will said, “Jaden is 100 percent fearless, he will do anything. So as a parent it’s scary, it’s really terrifying — but he is completely willing to live and die by his own artistic decisions and he just doesn’t concern himself with what people think.”

1. Montana Fishburne - Did Adult Entertainment

When you think of one of the toughest things for a father to see their daughter do as a career, adult film star is pretty high on the list. Especially if your name is Laurence Fishburne and you know that your daughter’s career choice is definitely going to become public knowledge.

His daughter Montana was very blunt about why she decided to release Montana Fishburne: An A-List Daughter Makes Her XXX Debut in August 2010, saying “Being in an adult film is not a big deal to me, it’s something I always wanted to do. I have always been comfortable in my body and with my sexuality. I am not in porn to get into acting. I am in p*rn because I wanted to be in p*rn.”

Montana was only 18 years old when she appeared in the video. When he was asked about it in an interview, Laurence feigned ignorance to the situation, but others have reported that it has caused a significant rift between the two. When she was asked about it, Montana said, “I hear through relatives that he’s upset but I haven’t talked to him directly for him to tell me his feelings.”

She ended up regretting her decision, saying in a later interview in 2013, that “I don’t encourage people to go into the porn industry. You’re not going to be famous, or be a movie star. You may end up having a really sucky life. If you look at the celebrity sex tape, these girls are not your average girl next door jumping into p*rn and for the average girl to get into p*rn and have those results won’t happen.”

While that seems like a happy ending, there were supposedly reports back in 2014 that she had elected to start working at a gentleman’s club.
