Audible is beloved by many for their vast library of audiobooks for those that love to read, but don't necessarily have the time to sit down and actually do it. This continues to be popular on laptops, tablets, and smartphones for consumers all around the world. Still, it has yet to make a splash on the smartwatch scene for those interested in using Audible there. But for Apple Watch users, the wait is now over.
As revealed by TechCrunch, the Amazon-owned app Audible is now available for those that use the Apple Watch. This may be seen as a good move for both parties, as well as a welcome change for users. After all, it means that those already using Audible while owning an Apple Watch have one more device they can use the app for.
Users can now sync their existing library on their phones to their Apple Watches, and playback said titles from the device. While some might take issue with having less screen room to view their library, the convenience of having access on the Watch more than makes up for it. It will make the task faster and easier for users, much to their delight.
This move might look surprising, but it really shouldn't be. Apple has recently focused on adding smartwatch audio and a podcast app, clearly showing users that they're continuing to reinvent the Apple Watch. As for Audible, they recently added a collection of Aaptiv fitness routines in their massive library. Having workout routines might have looked bizarre at the time; but with this announcement, it now makes perfect sense to include such an addition on Audible. These newer routines are currently free for users up until September 2019, which should give you plenty of time to get the hang of them.
It's clear that their partnership of sorts between Amazon's Audible and Apple—as odd as it may appear on the surface—is going to prove fruitful for both companies. Some will sign up for Audible, while others might go out and buy an Apple Watch. It's safe to say that consumers will surely be interested and even excited to see what happens next.
