10 On-Screen Pals That Are Also Real Life Besties

We often hear about celebs who hate each other and refuse to work together, but what about the happily ever after stories? We aren't talking about the couples who meet on set and fall in love and get married. We are talking about two people who come together to work on a movie and unexpectedly leave the film with a new lifelong friend.

There are childhood besties, like Ben Affleck and Matt Damon who were friends before they took the world by storm with their award winning film Good Will Hunting. These two continue to be friends and have shown outstanding support for their respective careers. Even though long term friendships are still going strong in Hollywood, there are many stars who have met on set in recent years, made a strong connection and stayed friends, even best friends since then.

The following stars can thank their jobs  for their newfound friendships, meet 12 besties who met on set.

12 Anna Kendrick and Emily Blunt

The newest friendship on this list comes from the movie Into the Woods where Kendrick and Blunt first met. Initially Kendrick was quite worried about not making any friends, being intimidated by the cast. But she soon learned that Blunt shared her sense of humor, sharing jokes while on set, and it all went uphill from there. When the two were on The Ellen Show promoting their movie, the chemistry was obvious as they were joking around and even pushing Meryl Streep out of a selfie. This very new friendship promises lots of laughs for these two amazing young actresses.

11 America Ferrera and Amber Tamblyn

Ten years after Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants hit the big screen, these two actresses remain best friends both on and off-screen. Ferrera attended Tamblyn’s wedding and was only one of three people to make a speech. Over the past decade these two young women have grown up together and maintained their supportive friendship. We may also see this duo return for a third installment of the Travelling Pants series as rumor has it the script is in the works.

10 Jennifer Aniston and Courtney Cox

Known as some of the nicest actresses in Hollywood, it is no surprise that these two immediately bonded and became close friends. Meeting in the early 1990’s on the set of Friends, it didn't take long before these two were off vacationing together. Cox even got engaged at Aniston’s house last year. Over the years the media has covered the many ups and downs of their lives, one thing that was always clear was their support for one another. Not only did Friends earn them a great amount of wealth but it brought them together.

9 Leighton Meester and Zuzanna Szadkowski

Gossip Girl fans know Zuzanna Szadkowski best as Dorota, the devoted maid of Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) but what you may not know is these two are actually best friends. On the show, Dorota was one of Blair’s truest confidants but no one knew that when the show finished these two would continue their friendship. Adam Brody, Meester’s husband was actually the one to spill the beans about this friendship, telling Hollywood Reporter that Szadkowski is one of his wife’s best friends. We now have to wonder; was she Meester’s bridesmaid at her secret wedding?

8 Ashley Benson and Shay Mitchell

Known as Hannah and Emily on the hit show Pretty Little Liars; these BFF’s are famous for their friendship off-screen. Shay often refers to Ashley as her little sister and helps her out with advice on her love life, amongst other things. They can be seen vacationing together, shopping, dining, drinking and dancing. You name it these two girls are there hand in hand. They have each other’s backs, a friendship that will surely continue to grow.

7 James Franco and Seth Rogen

These two became fast friends in 1999, on the set of Freaks and Geeks; which unfortunately only lasted for one season. They reunited in 2008 for the movie Pineapple Express and have never looked back. These two insanely talented writers, actors and directors can be seen having loads of fun both on and off the set. Audiences cannot get enough of this bromance, regular guys yearn to find someone like this and we hope that these two never stop making movies together. We imagine it is just one giant man date with tons of laughs, inappropriate jokes and a whole lot of fun.

6 Matt Damon and Ben Affleck

This is the original bromance; two young kids from Beantown that entered Hollywood and rose to the top together; all while remaining friends along the way. These two young men hit stardom when their screenplay Good Will Hunting was nominated for 9 academy awards; a film in which they both starred in. These two continue to work together, producing films and owning businesses. When they aren't working they enjoy rounding up both families for holiday dinners and BBQ's. We just wish we were invited.

5 Tina Fey and Amy Poehler

One of the funniest duos in Hollywood, these two are close friends on and off-screen. With over twenty years of friendship under their belt it is easy to see why audiences and co-workers love them. This pair had nothing but nice things to say about hosting the Golden Globes together, they certainly know how to make each other laugh as well as the audience. From Baby Mama to SNL Weekend Update to the cover of Vanity Fair; these two prove how everlasting friendship works.

4 Lena Dunham and Jemima Kirke

These two were friends before working together and it was actually Dunham who casted Jemima Kirke in her hit show Girls. When asked about it, Dunham simply answered by asking the press why she would hire a stranger to play her best friend when she could hire her actual best friend instead. These two are all around pals but working with friends is a tricky thing and sometimes Kirke gets frustrated with Dunham. The controversial show is written by Dunham and we can’t imagine it is easy having your best friend as your boss. Despite any struggles, these two remain strong and are often seen shopping, dinning and just hanging out together.

3 Lea Michele and Chris Colfer

This pair met on the set of Glee and seem to have a very strong friendship. Known as Rachel( Lea Michele)  and Kurt ( Chris Colfer) on the show, these two became instant friends and have helped each other through thick and thin. In 2014, Lea's first Valentine’s Day since the passing of her ex-boyfriend and former Glee co-star Cory Monteith; Colfer was seen with Michele sharing a nice Valentine’s Day dinner. Even if they no longer hang out together on-screen, we are luckily to still see them hanging out off-screen.

2 Andrea Barber and Candace Cameron

Perhaps the best duo of the '90s was Kimmy Gibbler and DJ Tanner from Full House. Fast forward 15 years later and these two are still the best of friends. From participating in various sporting activities such as running adventures to attending a New Kids on The Block concert; these two have seemingly been inseparable since filming the show. This awesome duo regularly posts on Instagram and have been known to #tbt to the days of Full House. We can only imagine that this friendship will continue to grow.

1 Drew Barrymore and Cameron Diaz

They met during the filming of Charlie’s Angels and have remained close friends ever since. One of the closest pair of friends on this list, these two do more than just act and hang out together. From cooking classes to music festivals to island hopping these two share the same likes and interests and aren't afraid to show the world how close they truly are. They choose to love and celebrate each other’s success and swear that is the key to having a long lasting friendship. We expect more laughs as the years go on and hope to see them star together in another film.
