There are a lot of people that have considered becoming television stars because they know that the actors and actresses are making a lot of money. That is definitely the truth no matter what the producers are saying. Yes, there are always those professionals that are going to tell you that they are working to keep the price of payroll down.  However, in the end, the stars are still making the big bucks and walking off of the set when they are not satisfied with the pay that they are receiving.

It is interesting to see just what many of the stars are taking home, and most of the time they are going to get paid for each and every episode that they do. This is not an annual salary that we are talking about. We are looking at a payment that they receive each and every time an episode is completed. This is most certainly going to be more than many of us will ever see in a salary that we have worked for over the course of several years.

In the past it was a lot easier for stars to walk onto a set and demand to make up to $125,000 per episode. It does not happen that much anymore but it is still important to know that it does happen. There are some stars who have proven that they are able to bring in the ratings or that they are going to be promising movie stars that the producers can trust to bring in the ratings and the money that they are looking for. These stars may have the ability to make this type of money for a single episode.

Keep in mind that some of the cable networks out there like HBO are going to be able to pay their stars a little bit more. However, that is not the case when you consider actors that are new to the scene. Even some of the actors that have been in the business for some time, with established credibility and ratings are going to be offered a lot less than what they would have made years ago.

The money that stars are making may has dropped over the years because of the film industry. It seems that more and more people are interested in watching thrillers that are packed with action rather than love stories and romantic comedies that were once at the top of the list. It has even been said that there are a lot of theatrical stars that are making their way onto television and this is having an impact on the amount of money the stars are going to make. Ratings are decreasing as well and that has a lot of producers simply saying “no” to the actors that think they are going to get rich off of one episode.

Believe it or not, it appears that a lot of networks are looking to pay a lot more to those that are interested in doing reality shows. If you have even paid attention to the television lately then you know that this is what you are going to find on the television all of the time.  The producers and networks are willing to pay more for these types of shows and they are also paying some really well-known stars to be a part of it so that they can get their ratings up and create a great deal of buzz around the reality show. It really does seem that this is where a lot of the money is going.

With all of this in mind, it is not to say that there are not stars out there that are making their fair share of money when it comes to being paid per episode. The following is a list of some of the highest paying stars out there, based on what they are making per episode. It is important to keep in mind the factors that were previously discussed when you look at the pay they are receiving.  It might help to explain some of it.

Here is a list of the highest paid actors and actresses, per episode.

2 Drama

Mark Harmon who is the star of NCIS is making $500,000. He is obviously one of the highest paid actors per episode. Ellen Pompeo is the female star of Grey’s Anatomy and she is working with Patrick Dempsey. She is taking home $350,000 for each show that she does. Kevin Bacon stared in The Following and was making $175,000. While this is still less than what the first two stars are making, it is still a nice paycheck at the end of the week. Lucy Liu, the star of Elementary, is making $125,000 for each show that is aired. Stephen Amell of the show Arrow is only making $30,000. That is still more than some college students will make in an entire year their first year after graduation.

1 Comedy

Ashton Kutcher is the new start of Two and a Half Men and he is making $700,000 for each show. That is amazing as the new guy but he does have the reputation to go with it. Kaley Cuoco of The Big Bang Theory is not making as much as Ashton but is still doing well at $300,000 per episode. Lea Michele from the show Glee will be taking home $75,000 each show and that is about twice the salary of someone with an associate’s degree. Crystal the Monkey from the Animal Practice is taking home $12,000 per episode. This really does not seem like a lot when you think about what the previous stars are making but it is still not bad at all. When you consider the fact that a monkey is making more than some humans it is really outrageous. It just goes to show that even when producers and networks try to keep the pay down, the stars are still making the big bucks.
