When thinking about the most popular socialites in the world, it's hard to overlook the Kardashians, particularly Kim Kardashian. No one is quite sure what she is known for, but her face has made it on the cover of thousands of magazines, commercials, billboards, music videos, you name it.
It seems as though the media has placed a permanent spotlight on Kim’s life as the world is updated on her daily events, encounters and fashion sense. Well, now there is something new to talk about, something quite bold…and no, we’re not talking about her butt for once.
We are talking about the platinum do that Kim has adopted. Being so used to seeing her with her long, dark brown hair, it’s hard to picture her with such a drastically different look. A couple of weeks ago, Kim cut her hair short, but we guess the change simply wasn't enough for her.
Earlier this week, photos were released of her new, platinum blonde hair. It’s not to say that she looks bad…but her new style has given people something else to talk about. I mean, let’s face it, it’s pretty hard to adjust to a new Kim and not associate her with a million other platinum blonde dos that we have seen before. Let's take a look at who might have inspired her to go for this new look.
15 Draco Malfoy - Harry Potter
When looking at Kim K’s new do, you have to ask yourself one question…is she a Harry Potter fan? If you compare her new hairstyle to that of Draco and even Lucius Malfoy, you might see a slight resemblance. Although many people nowadays are mesmerized by Kim’s beauty and attempt to look like her, we have to give the credit to the Malfoys for setting the trend way back in 2001 with The Philosopher's Stone. Maybe she's trying to be admitted to the school of witchcraft and wizardry. Maybe she had a Harry Potter marathon with Kanye and decided it was time for a change. All we know is, there is something quite magical about this new style.
14 Robbie Savage - Footballer
With the start of his career playing for Manchester United, Robbie Savage was known as one of the “dirtiest” players in the game due to the fact that he received an outstanding amount of yellow cards during matches. Savage’s challenging way of playing has earned him mixed reviews by fans. Either you love him or you hate him, it seems. Savage has been classified as a rather rough player and has also been involved in several controversial off-field incidents. Seems like Robbie and Kim have a little more in common than the color and length of their hair.
13 Dolph Lundgren (as He-Man)
Featured in the 1987 film Masters of the Universe, Dolph Lundgren played the role of He-Man, a warrior with superhuman strengths destined to protect the planet Eternia. He-Man’s character was based on an action figure, which sported the same hairstyle as portrayed in the motion picture. The movie did not have much success and received a lot of criticism. Although the movie was unsuccessful, He-Man’s hair clearly made a fashion statement and has been used as a model for celebrity haircuts. After all, the eighties have slowly made their return to the fashion world. Why not the hair styles too?
12 Dolph Ziggler
Speaking of Dolphs, WWE superstar Dolph Ziggler’s hair is one of his many trademarks…one that he now shares with Mrs. West. Known as a fast-paced wrestler, Ziggler has recently gained popularity due to his speed and intensity in the ring. At 34 years old, Ziggler has been around the WWE for a number of years now. Although he has never reached “top dog” status in the WWE, he continues to be entertaining to watch and uses his years of experience to his advantage. Surely, Mr. Ziggler’s hair has something to do with his success. He wouldn’t have been out of place wrestling in the eighties, as he transcends the decades with his bleach blonde locks. Hopefully Kim never tries to set foot in a WWE ring, as she would probably not have as much success as Dolph.
11 Nicolas Cage (in Drive Angry)
Nicolas Cage, also known as that crazy man you see in a lot of movies, has been known for his ever-changing looks throughout his career. Born as Nicholas Kim Coppola, he decided to change his name in order to create his own reputation. Since the eighties, Cage has excelled at playing very weird and eccentric roles. In 2011’s Drive Angry, Cage played the role of John Milton, an escaped criminal, on the chase to kill a cult leader who was after his daughter. Cage claims to have developed his own style of acting and plans to write a book about it later on. Perhaps Kim can learn a thing or two from him before releasing her own book, Selfish.
10 Justin Bieber
Bieber started out as a cutesy little YouTube artist who was recruited by Scooter Braun. Bieber was immediately introduced to R&B star Usher, who worked with him and was considered to be a mentor to Justin. Although he was quite successful at first, the pressure of maintaining a public image became stressful and Bieber started to run into trouble. At the age of 21, Justin has already been arrested and has had several warnings and is often criticized. Similarly to Kim, fans went wild when JB bleached his hair blonde. Seems like both parties enjoy keeping their images a surprise.
9 Legolas - Lord of the Rings
With his very successful role in Lord of the Rings, Orlando Bloom created quite an unforgettable image starring as Legolas the sharpshooting elf. Other than his breakthrough success in LOTR, Bloom has starred in over 30 films including Disney’s very popular Pirates of the Caribbean. Since the start of his career, Bloom has been nominated for several awards including “Best Fight” in The Hobbit, which he won in 2014. Although the Lord of the Rings movies have come to an end, Kim would clearly fit in should Legolas ever need a partner. We are just not sure what her bow and arrow skills are like.
8 Daenerys Targaryen - Game of Thrones
Although Emilia Clarke is a relatively newer actress, she has gained most of her fame from the hit HBO series Game of Thrones. Currently on its fifth season, Clarke plays the role of Daenerys Targaryen, daughter of King Aerys Targaryen. Emilia describes the development of her character as being very much like Joan of Arc, strong and portraying leader qualities. In terms of the bleach blonde hairstyle, Daenerys Targaryen sports a similar do to that of Legolas. Would it be wrong to assume that Kim may very well have a thing for medieval fantasy-type looks? The possibilities are endless...
7 Jax Teller - Sons of Anarchy
It's been heavily rumored that Kim Kardashian is the newest SAMCRO prospect. However, there's no word on whether emulating Jax's haircut will get her any closer to the president's chair. All jokes aside, Sons of Anarchy was an awesome series, and thank goodness Kim was not involved with it in any way, although she probably could have given Gemma a run for her money as the biggest diva in Charming. The day Kim puts on a cut and hops on a bike is the day she earns a lot more respect from fans of this show. Or not.
6 Elsa - Frozen
Although Frozen came out nearly a year and a half ago, it continues to receive a lot of hype and support from fans of all ages. The film brought in $1.274 billion at the box office, not to mention all of the memorabilia that is continuously flying off shelves to this day. Elsa’s character has become many little girls’ dream to the point where they are running around with little blonde wigs. Maybe Kim is reliving her childhood by emulating a Disney princess in hopes of becoming one some day? One can only dream…
5 Brad Pitt (in Seven Years in Tibet)
He may be 51, but Brad Pitt maintains his status as one of the sexiest men in Hollywood. Whether he sports a long beard or is clean shaven, has short hair or long, somehow Brad continues to make hearts melt. Known for his versatility and charm, Brad Pitt has appeared in nearly 70 films and done various cameos on television shows. There is no denying that Brad has had a successful career. It is very possible that Kim was inspired by his Nick Carter-esque hairstyle in Seven Years in Tibet where Brad played an Austrian mountain climber who befriended the Dalai Lama.
4 Jared Leto
Also known for his ever changing hair styles, Jared Leto has had quite a successful career himself. Lead vocalist and instrumentalist for the band Thirty Seconds to Mars, Leto has been on fire for the past couple of years. The band released four studio albums and won over 80 awards. The multi-talented vocalist does not limit himself to music however. Leto also starred as a transgender character in the 2013 film Dallas Buyers Club which earned him an Academy Award. Jared Leto has received outstanding praise for his versatility as an artist. He may even have inspired Mrs. Kardashian-West to pursue a career in acting, who knows. The hair is a good start!
3 Dash - The Incredibles
Although not as recent as Frozen, Disney’s The Incredibles was also rather successful. Winner of two Oscars in 2005, the film brought in over $630 million to the box office. The story is about your average suburban family...except that they're actually a bunch of super heroes. Dash, who is voiced by Spencer Fox, is known for his big eyes, and big blonde hair. There is definitely a clear resemblance between his hair and Kim K’s new do. Maybe she really is into this whole hero business. Afterall, she wears a lot of dark makeup and has big eyes. Perfect resemblance.
2 Miss Piggy
If there's one power couple that can give Kimye a run for their money, it's Kermiggy. There is more than meets the eyes when looking at Miss Piggy and comparing her characteristics to those of Kim. Most importantly, let’s take a look at her hair. Often straight, bleach blonde and bold? Check. High-maintenance? Double check. Fashionistas and centers of attention? Check, check, check! There is no denying that the two “stars” have a lot in common. Unless Kim is going to make an appearance in the next Muppets movie, the similar hairstyle could mean many things. Could this be the start of a new television series called Kim and Miss Piggy Take New York?
1 Ric Flair
At 66 years old, former WWE Superstar Ric Flair sported the big blonde hairdo for many years. Also know as the “Nature Boy,” and the dirtiest player in the game, Flair has been a part of the WWE since the late seventies. Having created quite a name for himself, Flair ended his 36-year-long career in 2008. However, he still makes his appearances for the WWE. Although he is old enough to be her father, it's highly doubtful that Kim would ever win against a stylin', profilin', limousine riding, jet flying, kiss-stealing, wheelin' n' dealin' son of a gun like Ric Flair, Woo!
