Nick Cannon was on the verge of losing his fast-rising career last year after being diagnosed with Lupus, an autoimmune disease with no cure. He was hospitalized for kidney failure and blood cuts in his lungs which all stemmed from his Lupus. Nick thought he was in good shape and that the disease just came out of nowhere. Their is no history of his family having such an illness.
In his interview with CNN’s Social Media Week LA, Cannon said 'he had no regrets, stating that life is all about the stories you can tell, and that he has some great stories to tell, good and bad.'
It caused him to give up his radio show on 92.3 NOW to prioritize his health. The doctor told him that his work could kill him and that his deteriorating health condition was caused by over fatigue and working too much. He was sleeping two hours a day. Apart from giving up his work, he changed his diet, avoiding fast food, resorting to low sodium and water therapy, and maintaining 6-hours of sleep.
Cannon used his influence to raise awareness of the disease by hosting the annual New York City Kidney Walk. He has shared his life threatening experience with his fans, explaining how he has undergone treatments for his illness.
Cannon is 100 % now and is spending his life to the fullest with his family. He returned to the screen with “Nick Cannon Presents Wild ‘n Out” on MTV2.
