Imagine a single girl having a pool of 25 to 30 guys, all of who are trying to woo her and making her the object of their affection. The girl can tick off the list the guys she is not interested in one by one, until such time that only the best of the pickings is left. Such is the plot of “The Bachelorette,” a reality dating game show that debuted in 2003 in ABC. Though it got canned in 2005, the network revived the show in 2008.
The women featured in “The Bachelorette” and “The Bachelor,” from which it was spun off, have all been invariably hot and good-looking. Here is a list of the sexiest women on “The Bachelorette” and on “The Bachelor” as well.
1. Ali Fedotowsky
Ali Fedotowsky first appeared in “The Bachelor” in 2010 as one of 25 women trying to land the pilot named Jake Pavelka. She had to quit the show, however, after her employer issued an ultimatum for her to either return to work immediately or resign from the company altogether. Rather than lose her job with Facebook, she requested the producers to let her out of the show. She was then invited back to star in the next season of “The Bachelorette.” Fedotowski chose Roberto Martinez in the finale and the two got engaged afterwards. They ended their relationship in November 2011, however. She stayed in San Diego where she used to be a weekly correspondent for a morning show aired on the local Fox network. She has since moved on to NBC where she hosts a weekly travel show entitled “1st Look.”
2. Shayne Lamas
The daughter of the actor Lorenzo Lamas, Shayne Lamas first appeared in the long-running soap opera drama entitled “General Hospital.” In 2008, she joined the 12th season of “The Bachelor” where she won after Matt Grant decided to propose to her on the season finale. The two broke up within the year, however. Lamas then appeared in “The 13th Alley” and “Leave it to Lamas.” In 2009, she was arrested while driving under the influence of alcohol in Venice, California. After a plea bargain agreement, she was found guilty of wet reckless, which is a lesser charge. She went through rehab and probation. She got married in 2010 to Nik Richie, with whom she has a daughter.
3. Emily Maynard
Emily Maynard first appeared in “The Bachelor” when she won the heart of Brad Womack (in his second appearance on the show), who presented her with the final rose. Her life story before the show was tragic when her fiance’, the NASCAR driver Ricky Hendrick, passed away in a plane crash in 2004. The two had been dating since they were 15 and got engaged officially six months before his death. A few days after the funeral, Maynard found out she was pregnant. The child was one of the main reasons why her relationship with Womack did not work out as Maynard refused to uproot her daughter from their North Carolina home. The network then decided to get her as the eighth bachelorette. The season was shot in North Carolina to accommodate Maynard. She chose Jef Holm in the end, though the two broke up before the year ended.
4. Tenley Molzahn
Tenley Molzahn started out as a dancer and performer when she was part of Walt Disney Productions that staged shows around the world. She even got the lead part of Ariel in the “Under the Sea” tour in Tokyo Disneyland. She was fresh from a divorce when she joined “The Bachelor” in 2010. Molzahn ended up as the last girl eliminated by Jake Pavelka. She then joined “The Bachelor Pad” that featured former participants of “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette.” There, she met her future husband Kiptyn Locke, who is a former contestant himself.
5. DeAnna Pappas
DeAnna Pappas is a real estate agent from Georgia. She was part of the historic season of “The Bachelor” when Brad Womack rejected all the women in the show in his first appearance in the show. She did make it to the final rose ceremony and that probably led the network to offer Pappas the starring role in “The Bachelorette.” At the season finale, she got engaged to Jesse Csincsak, a professional snowboarder. They broke up after only a few months, however. Nevertheless, Pappas was awarded by Fox Reality Channel for being the most memorable reality performer of the year. She eventually starred in Lifetime TV’s “Get Married” and Oxygen’s “Bachelorette Party.” She is now married to Michael Stagliano.
6. Trista Rehn
She used to be a cheerleader for the Miami Heat in the NBA. Trista Rehn then appeared as a contestant in the first-ever season of “The Bachelor.” She ended up as the runner-up. She was promptly offered to be “The Bachelorette” for the following year. Rehn chose Ryan Sutter and the two have been together ever since. The network paid them a million dollars for the right to cover their wedding. This was shown in a three-part miniseries that drew over 26 million viewers, making it one of the most viewed reality show episodes ever. Rehn has also appeared in television commercials and the show “Dancing with the Stars.” She is now based in Colorado.
7. Erica Rose
Erica Rose was a diva when she appeared in “The Bachelor,” even wearing a tiara because she claimed it would bring out the royalty in her. The law student from the University of Houston did not even make it to the final rounds, but her popularity forced the producers to bring her back for some more episodes. She then appeared in VH1’s “You’re Cut Off!” where she and other brats were stripped of their assets and forced to work for a living.
8. Melissa Rycroft
Melissa Rycroft first made the cut in the reality series “Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team.” She was chosen to be one of the football team’s cheerleaders. She won the 13th season of “The Bachelor,” only for Jason Resnick to break up with her almost immediately after to hook up with the runner-up Molly Melaney. She joined “Dancing with the Stars” where she placed third in 2009 and first in 2012. She also hosted the first season of “Bachelor Pad.”
