Rich Celebs Who Don't Want To Marry

Adam Brody and Leighton Meester aren't the only ones to have wed under the radar over the past year. Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard, Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock and Kerry Washington and Nnamdi Asomugha all secretly got married. (We didnt even know Kerry and Nnamdi were dating!) But for every new celebrity marriage, there's plenty of A-listers who refuse to tie the knot.

From personal issues to political motivations, there seems to be a multitude of reasons why stars aren't interested in marriage, and we compiled a list of some of the richest celebs to say no.

No shocker here: eternal bachelor George Clooney makes our list. However some may be surprised to find Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick in our top 10, as you'd think they'd like to pull in some extra cash with a big reality TV wedding. And they're not the only surprises either! Without further ado, here's a look at some of the richest celebs who don't want to marry.

10 Jon Hamm

Hamm, better know as his Mad Men character Don Draper, has been with his partner Jessica Westfeldt since 1997. "We may not have a piece of paper that says we're husband and wife," Hamm explained, "but (...) Jennifer is more than just a girlfriend."

When pressed on what was holding him back, the actor explained that marriage didn't really mean anything to him. His parents divorced when he was just two years old, and he hasn't really witnessed any positive examples of marriage in his life since their separation. Hamm was open about the subject, explaining that this was just his personal experience, and that he wasn't condemning marriage on the whole.

Hamm, who's worth $15 million, also noted that he didn't want children either.

9 Diane Kruger

The German model turned actress (who's worth $24 million) first caught our eye in National Treasure before snagging big-time roles in films like Troy and Inglorious Bastards (both starring Brad Pitt, who comes in at no. 2 on our list). It was during this time that she met her current long-time love, Joshua Jackson. The two have dated since 2006 but never exchanged vows. "Without sounding pessimistic," Diane admitted to Glamour magazine, "I learned that I don't believe in marriage." Diane, who was previously married for just five years to a French actor and director, went on to say, "I believe in a commitment that you make in your heart. There's no paper that will make you stay."

8 Kourtney Kardashian & Scott Disick

Despite recently having had two adorable children (Mason and Penelope), Kourtney has expressed no desire to walk down the aisle with long-time partner Scott. The couple began dating in 2006, and even though Kourtney's seen both sisters marry (Kim more than once), she isn't in any rush herself. And it would seem the feeling has become mutual. "I feel like I used to want to get married more than she did," Scott revealed to Ryan Seacrest. "And then being that she was always so not interested, I've decided not to be."

Both reality TV stars (who are worth a combined $30 million) have admitted doing multiple shows for E! has put even more strain on their already tumultuous relationship, so they've decided to wait it out, at least for now. Scott's suggested maybe in 10 years, but since the passing of his parents recently, Kourtney may come around to the idea sooner. She reportedly feels the tragedy has matured him, revealing a new softer and more responsible side to him.

7 Ricky Gervais

"Our "marriage" has lasted longer than most marriages," the funny man said when speaking of his long-term relationship with Jane Fallon. When it comes to their love story, Ricky and Jane rival Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell (no. 5 on our list) for how long they've been together; the pair have dated for over 30 years. "How are we not married in anything except the eyes of God?" Gervais questioned. Calling marriage "irrelevant", the actor and comedian (who is worth over $80 million) said he still tries to be romantic but credits humor for keeping their relationship so strong.

6 Charlize Theron

This blonde beauty is looking for commitment, just not necessarily the kind that involves a big white dress. "I really want for myself a long-term relationship," explained Theron, who added, "that's the kind of union that I want. The actual ceremony is not something that is important to me.

After dating Stuart Townsend for nine years, the actress was linked to several celebs. Most recently, she's been in a budding relationship with Sean Penn. Might he just be the one to convince the South African to walk down the aisle? Reportedly Penn has said he'd like to not only marry her, but adopt her son Jackson. For that reason, Theron's seriously considering making it legal. Theron, who's worth $95 million, has never been married. Penn has been married twice (Robin Wright, Madonna) and is worth $150 million.

5 Goldie Hawn & Kurt Russell

They first met on the set of Swing Shift, and over 30 years later, their love is still going strong. Hawn and Russell have raised four children together too, though the pair have famously never tied the knot. "The question is, 'why (get married)?'. It's not, 'why not?'" said Hawn to CBS.

The couple never felt the need to wed. Truth be told, both of the actors (who are worth a combined $130 million) have been married before. After those failed marriages, Hawn and Russell decided maintaining a loving relationship was far more important than simply signing a legal agreement.

With so many failed Hollywood relationships, it's not surprising that Hawn gets questioned about this topic a lot. "I still like the idea that I'm his girlfriend," gushed Hawn to the ladies at The View. "We're not going to get married. We're happy."

4 George Clooney

The $180 million actor may just end up an eternal bachelor. The 52-year-old was married to actress Talia Balsam for four years going into the '90s, and has said he'll never marry again. Since then, he's had several long-term relationships (Sarah Larson, Elisabetta Canalis, and most recently, Stacy Keibler) but they've all ended after realizing no one was going to get him back to the altar. It's become so well known that Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum in Las Vegas actually has wedding dresses available next to his wax statute (in which he dons a tux) so you can "marry" Clooney in Sin City.

3 Leonard DiCaprio

The Wolf of Wall Street star has never been married, but not for the reasons you might think. Several years ago, the heartthrob said he didn't believe in marriage and had never been in love, but has since changed his tune. He absolutely wants to get married one day, but has never found "the one". Despite being a modelizer, dating one beautiful model after the next, he hasn't settled down because none of them have been marriage material. "When it's right, it's gonna be right," the 39-year-old told Gayle King in a recent interview.

2 Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt

This A-list couple, worth a whopping $345 million, have always said they'd never make it official until "everyone in the country who wants to be married is legally able". With the Supreme Court's striking down the Defense of Marriage Act (a law which denied federal benefits to legally married gay couples) as unconstitutional last summer, plus the reinstatement of gay marriage in California, it seems that Brad and Angie can now set a date.

That was in 2013 though, and there's still no word on when it may happen yet. However they've acknowledged it's really more important to their children. "I'm getting pressure from my kids," admitted Brad, who has three biological children and three adopted with Angelina. "But I also feel like the time has come."

Brangelina has been together since meeting on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith in 2004, but didn't get engaged until 2012. The World War Z star proposed to the sexy brunette with a $250,000 ring he designed himself. Both actors were previously married.

1 Oprah Winfrey

For millions of Americans who invited Oprah into their homes every day, this probably comes as no surprise. She didn't marry because she just wasn't a traditional woman; she paved her own path, noting that she's made her long-time love, Stedman Graham, less traditional in the process. "The very idea of what it means to be a wife and the responsibility and sacrifice that carries - I wouldn't have held that well," the billionaire admitted recently.

The former talk show host, who's net worth is approximately $2.9 billion alone, put most of her energy into her work over the years. It's not to say that Stedman didn't try to put a ring on it - because he did - and they even set a date. Eventually they called it off (with Oprah explaining to BFF Gayle that it just didn't feel right) and the couple haven't discussed marriage since. It doesn't seem to have impacted their love story though, as they've been together since 1986.
