Marilyn Monroes Vacation Home Sells at $14.8 Million

The “Hilltop” home, which was once a vacation home for iconic actress, model and singer Marilyn Monroe, is now on the market for $14.8 million.

The 3.85 acre 15,000 square-foot waterfront estate located at the Lake Arrowhead’s “Hilltop” was built in 1927 and was formerly owned by late Music Corporation of America (MCA) co-founder Jules Stein. Several Hollywood icons have also frequented the vacation home such as Cary Grant and Rock Hudson.

It has 10 bedrooms, 14 bathrooms, a conservatory and a study caretaker’s quarters, car-collector’s showroom, tennis court and dock house.

It first hit the market for $14.2 million in 2010 but the price dropped to $9.975 million in 2012. Now selling at $14.8 million, it is considered the most expensive home listed in the area.

Moreover, the house was restored by the owner in 2000 but 90 percent of its features were preserved. It still has Monroe’s personal bungalow known as “The Happy Hut.”
